I started my journey as a doula in 2021 while finishing my last semester at VCU with my Bachelors in Health Sciences. I started with Birth In Color RVA as an intern finishing my requirements for graduation and left my internship ….as a doula ! Working as a doula is truly such a rewarding field as I am allowed the opportunity to create a safe space for my clients to be vulnerable, empowered, deconstruct stigmas, and really get into their lives to optimize a safe birth as well as set them up for a successful start to parenthood. With the help of my mentor and experience, I then opened “Lily’s Birth Boutique,” to further expand support to my community.
