Pregnancy, birth, and babies...I love it all! I see the birth process as a huge opportunity for growth and healing. This is an opportunity for the birthing person to communicate with their body and find their own intuitive & unique way of birthing. This is not just a mother experience but a parent experience, I love getting the partners involved. I am also a massage therapists and birth photographer. Massage during labor can be so helpful and amazing and I love capturing the sweet moments between a couple and meeting your baby! Hi loves! I’m Emily Smith, co-founder of RootedBirth Doulas and a certified birth and postpartum doula. I’ve always been a bit of a “birth junkie,” with a deep love for birth, motherhood, and women’s health. My passion for this work grew as I realized how little many women are taught about their bodies—I love helping women feel informed, supported, and confident during such a transformative time. One of my favorite parts of being a doula is witnessing women move through something challenging and come out feeling strong and empowered. I also spent 18 months doing service for my church where I learned Spanish, and I love supporting Spanish-speaking families whenever I can.

Hi, I’m Sarah, Full Spectrum Doula and owner of Birthing Brave! I love taking a physiology first approach to interventions, meaning that regardless of what medical support you need (or want) during your birth we are setting up your body for success by optimizing it's natural processes. (This is great for natural minded mamas who want an epidural or need a medical induction). To do that we start prenatally. I offer a full online birth course with a physiology first perspective in hospital settings, and we do the work together to adjust mindsets, clear fears, improve our health and baby's positioning, and prepare for the unknowns (including NICU and C-Section). During your birth, I love supporting physiology regardless of what interventions come our way. I have been teaching somatics for over 12 years throughout my local Salt Lake City community. I acquired my BFA in Modern Dance and Education from the University of Utah in 2009 and shortly after gained my yoga teacher training in Hatha and Prenatal Yoga. I am a certified DONA Birth and Postpartum Doula, an ICEA accredited childbirth educator, parenting group coordinator, mental health advocate and community organizer. All of the diverse education and training, as well as years of experience, provided me the space to confidently educate the community of expectant parents during their reproductive years, while simultaneously providing unbiased evidence based care. I have also followed 'out-of-hospital' midwives since I was 25 years old. Recently I became a Certified Professional Midwife who specializes in out-of-hospital (OOH) birthing. We opened My Family Birth Center in Ogden, Utah to give women the opportunity to birth in their own way. We are the largest Birth Center in Utah and Nationally Accredited with the Commission of Accrediting Birth Centers (CABC). We are within 3 blocks of a Ogden Regional Medical Center.
