I’ve got doula skills and am a birth expert, but what do I really do? I believe birth is a convergence of physiology, energy, spirit, psyche—and the deep wisdom of the birthing person and baby. Around October 2026, I should be able to start accepting insurance. My job? To honor and hold space for it and support it with everything I’ve got. I’m also a four-time postpartum survivor, and that experience lit a fire in me to make postpartum care stronger, smarter, and more supported for every family. That early experience stayed with me and ultimately led me down the path of midwifery. I am a 25 year old mother of two, and my journey into becoming a doula is deeply rooted in my own birth experiences. I’ve had both a hospital birth and two unassisted, natural home births, which gave me a well-rounded perspective on how powerful and capable women are when they feel supported, safe, and heard. During my first birth in a hospital setting, I found myself having to advocate strongly for my own choices, which opened my eyes to how essential it is for mothers to have someone in their corner. What led me to this work is my belief that mothers deserve to be at the center of their birth experience. While the focus often shifts to the baby, a mother’s physical, emotional, and mental well being is just as important especially during and after delivery. I understand that while many women desire home births, not all have that option, especially in higher risk situations.
