Hi everyone! I'm a birth doula located in Melissa, TX and a mom of 3 + a set of fraternal twins. Babies and mamas are my passion and I'm so blessed to have supported and loved on so many in the time I've been doing this. I have assisted births in every setting as well as have had my own babies in a hospital, birthing center and, most recently, at home. My goal is for every mom to learn to trust themselves, trust their bodies and feel confident going into pregnancy, birth and postpartum. If you don't have a village, I'm here to be that for you!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Sydney as my doula during my VBAC journey! We were initially planning for a repeat C-section, but after hearing a friend’s inspiring story about her home VBAC, I felt motivated to explore other options. A mutual friend connected me with Sydney, and right from our first meeting, the good vibes were undeniable—especially since we shared the same name! It felt like a sign that we were a perfect match. What I really appreciated about Sydney is how real and honest she is. She doesn’t sugarcoat things just to keep you comfortable—she tells you the truth and gives you all the facts, which is so important when planning your birth. Her straightforward approach helped me feel empowered to make informed decisions and commit to my plan for an unmedicated birth. After my previous experience with interventions that led to an unnecessary C-section, I was determined to do things differently this time. Sydney was super responsive to all my questions throughout my pregnancy, which really calmed my nerves. When the big day finally came, Sydney was a total rockstar! Her presence was empowering, and I felt like I could really go for it. After the birth, she came for a home visit, which was such a sweet touch. She brought us thoughtful goodies and shared valuable tips on postpartum care, even though this wasn’t my first rodeo with a newborn.

I am Shanna Hinrichs, and my story of community birth began over 20 years ago when I began supporting families as a doula, lactation consultant, and now midwife. I have known I was called to help women bring their babies earthside since I was a young child. I didn't know what that would look like, but I was fortunate to witness the intimate and precious home birth of a dear friend. That experience revealed my path as a birth worker and ignited my desire to serve women and their families in their most powerful and vulnerable moments. I am fulfilled by serving my incredible clients as their families grow. Attending births builds my trust over and over in women's bodies and their ability to transform and heal. I respect the responsibility of being a midwife and recognize the privilege of facilitating an experience that best supports my client's wishes. I believe that educated, informed choice is the best way for families to become empowered and make the best decisions for their pregnancy. That belief has afforded me the privilege to serve on the board of different cesarean awareness groups to help provide evidence-based information so families can make the appropriate choice for themselves and their current pregnancy. I am also a strong advocate for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC) when it is the most appropriate choice. I was born and raised in Garland but have had the privilege to live in a few different states. I am married and have given birth to 9 children, each with their own distinct story. Having experienced 9 very different births and breastfeeding journeys, I have lots of hands-on personal experience to offer to you. When not engrossed in the birth world, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 4 school-age kids still at home, and our dog and cats, as well as playing in the great outdoors, eating delicious food, and making our home in Rowlett as peaceful as a home with 4 kids (still living at home), a dog, and 2 cats can be. I would love the opportunity to chat with you to see if I would be the best midwife for you and your family. If we decide that I am not the best fit, I am more than happy to help you find the care provider you deserve as you travel this beautiful journey.

Shanna delivered my third baby. She is an amazing and caring midwife! She is knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know you and your family. She always answered my questions with detail and evidence backed information. At my birth she was fantastic in helping my husband catch our baby and managing me when I had some difficulty immediately postpartum. She was a huge blessing in my postpartum and understands the importance of support in the postpartum.

Hello Families My name is Dereka Carter, and I am a Maternal Healthcare Practitioner, Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula, Parent Coach, Night Nanny, and Lactation Support Provider, as well as the owner of Carter Comprehensive Birth. It is truly an honor to walk alongside families during such a tender and transformative season. In addition to leading Carter Comprehensive Birth, I specialize in providing concierge-level maternal and newborn care for families who desire discreet, personalized, and highly attentive support — including high-profile and traveling families who value continuity of care wherever life takes them. My approach is seamless, adaptable, and deeply attuned to each family’s unique lifestyle and needs. My practice is rooted in respectful care, attachment theory, and evidence-based newborn and postpartum support, with a strong emphasis on infant development and parental mental health. I support families through newborn care, sleep shaping, feeding support, recovery, education, and the emotional transition into parenthood with warmth and intention. Families often describe me as empathetic, intuitive, flexible, and reassuring. I meet you exactly where you are, honoring your goals and values without judgment, while gently guiding you with professional insight and practical tools to help your family thrive in your new normal. LaDereka was and has continued to be our emotional and healthcare question support through pregnancy as a teacher (daddy boot camp), doula and newborn care specialist. She was key to helping us understand our options and what to expect when my pregnancy went from normal and healthy to a diagnosis of gestational hypertension with bed rest at 34 weeks. LaDereka helped us rewrite our birth preferences to accommodate an induction at 37 weeks and led us through the different interventions and natural options we could try before agreeing to an intervention. LaDereka remained by our side through out the labor process as a trusted guide and second opinion with which to weigh the nurse and doctor’s suggestions and feedback. It was great to be able to ask questions and understand the process even when our nurse was attending to other patients. Although we ended up delivering our happy and healthy baby girl via caesarean, I know we tried everything we could have for a natural birth. As our newborn care specialist LaDereka was there on night 1 to ease our transition from hospital to home. Dad is getting to sleep through the night and takes over when her shift ends in the morning and mom is enjoying 8+ hours of sleep each night (with pumping mixed in!). Not only has LaDereka’s care of our newborn allowed us to prioritize sleep and my recovery, she’s a wonderful resource for lactation and all things baby care.

I am so happy you are here! My name is Laurynn. I am a birthkeeper and student midwife serving families in DFW and surrounding areas. I offer antenatal support through various services including birth and postpartum doula, birth planning, lactation support, and placenta encapsulation. I am happily married to my other half, Colin, and have a daughter, Olive, born at Natural Beginnings Birth Center in 2023 as well as a son, Finn, born at home this past September. I believe that birth is a sacred rite of passage to be respected and honored, I encourage and love the inner wild woman in her most vulnerable space, and I believe in the innate ability and intuitive nature of her body and her baby during the whole process. The birth of my daughter and son have opened doors in my soul that I didn’t know existed, and in response, I have developed an extreme passion for helping women and their families feel empowered, safe, and nurtured during birth. Whether you have had previous birth trauma, you want to achieve your first homebirth, or you want to birth in the hospital, my goal is to have you leaving your experience feeling powerful, happy, accomplished, and that you had a voice that was heard and respected by your provider. I want to set you and your partner up with the tools to take charge of — and ENJOY — your birth as well as provide a space in which you feel the most loved and comfortable to welcome your newest blessing to the world. I’m beyond excited to connect with you, hear your story, and find out more about your desires for your birth!

Laurynn was great! She made my husband and I feel so much better about the birthing process in the weeks leading up to my labor. She was so knowledgeable and we learned so much from her. I opted for a hospital birth and really wanted someone there to advocate for me, and Laurynn did not let us down. At first my husband did not understand why I wanted a doula, but afterwards, he couldn't stop raving about how it was the best money we spent. It was great for him to have someone there supporting both him and I through the process, and it made it a lot less stressful for him. I credit Laurynn to my smooth labor and delivery, and was so grateful for her. She made me feel as comfortable as possible during my labor, and fought for us to try more natural interventions rather than opting for the hospital interventions, and her bag of tricks worked wonders. I'm so grateful for her, and would definitely recommend her to any expecting mothers! I can't wait to use her next time around for my home birth!

I’ve always been drawn to birth and babies—what started as childhood curiosity grew into a calling after the birth of my first child. In 2020, I became a certified birth doula, and today I serve families across the Dallas/Fort Worth area with personalized support through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Whether you’re planning a hospital, home, or surrogacy journey, my role is to support your choices and vision—offering practical help, emotional encouragement, and steady, grounded advocacy when it matters most. What makes my care unique is that I’ve experienced birth from multiple sides—I’ve given birth naturally with a midwife and have also served as a surrogate, helping bring a long-awaited baby into the arms of hopeful parents. These experiences give me a deep respect for how personal and sacred birth truly is. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me baking sourdough, doing something hands-on and “crunchy,” or creating alongside my kids—but at the heart of it all, birth work isn’t just what I do, it’s part of who I am.

Katie at Little Lilacs Birth Services was absolutely incredible! From the very beginning of my pregnancy, she was there to guide me through every step, patiently answering my million questions and offering expert advice that always made me feel supported and confident. She helped us revisit and refresh all the birth techniques we had learned before, giving us the tools and reassurance we needed to achieve another unmedicated birth with confidence. During labor and birth, Katie was calm, attentive, and completely present. Her support went beyond just guidance—she anticipated our needs, encouraged us when we felt unsure, and helped create a birth experience that felt empowering and safe. Beyond her professional expertise, Katie has a warmth and kindness that makes her feel like a lifelong friend. She truly cares about the families she works with and goes above and beyond to make the journey from pregnancy to birth as smooth and joyful as possible. I can’t recommend Katie and Little Lilacs Birth Services enough to anyone looking for a doula who combines knowledge, compassion, and genuine friendship.

First, as a sister and a friend, then as a mother myself, I have seen the medical system sew fear and doubt into women regarding their body's capability to achieve what it was intended to. The truth is, childbirth is both natural and miraculous. I believe that every woman has the right to decide what interventions she wants to use in childbirth without the use of fear, but instead through true informed consent. I continue learning daily how best to help each new mama, both through lived experiences and through research, and will gladly share my knowledge. I also believe that every woman should be supported through the most vulnerable and powerful moment of her life. In a system that pushes women away from their natural state, I am here to be that calming support and fierce advocate.

I am SO grateful to Barbara! She was a trusted guide and resource from the moment she joined my birth team. Barbara advocated for me throughout my hospital birth labor and I ended up with the best birth experience. Barbara's encouragement and her hands-on assistance during delivery gave me the birth experience I had truly prayed for. Barbara provided me and husband confidence and peace of mind throughout my pregnancy and during labor. Barbara literally held me up during the pushing phase! She provided security to me in her advocacy. Barbara empowered me throughout my pregnancy and birth. To have Barbara with you during your pregnancy and birth is truly a gift. I am forever grateful for Barbara. If I am blessed with another pregnancy, I will be asking Barbara to be my doula again. I am full of gratitude for everything Barbara did for me and my family.

Hi friend, I’m Prisca, the doula behind your birth friend I’m a certified doula, wife, and mama with a big heart for walking alongside women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My care is rooted in connection, the kind that feels genuine, grounding, and personal. I believe doula support should feel less like a service and more like a steady friendship. Someone in your corner who gets it, sees you, and walks with you through it all. I believe every woman deserves: gentle, personalized support evidence-based guidance and someone who truly sees her I also believe that knowledge is power. When women understand their options, their bodies, and the birth process, they’re able to step into this journey feeling confident, informed, and deeply supported. I’m passionate about helping women feel equipped and empowered every step of the way. Birth isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, spiritual, and sacred. That’s why my support goes beyond timelines and checklists. I show up with heart, with presence, and with care that’s built on trust, friendship, and faith. My faith is the foundation of how I serve. It’s what grounds me, guides me, and helps me hold space with love and grace in every space I enter. Whether we’re chatting over tea during pregnancy, breathing through contractions together, or unpacking the beautiful, messy layers of postpartum, I’ll be right there with you as your steady, grounded support. I serve families in North Texas and it would be an honor to walk with you through your journey. Got questions? Want to connect? Or want to say hi? I’d love to hear from you! I’ve poured a lot of heart into my website, and I would be delighted if you stopped by. I’d love to connect with you there.

Working with Prisca was the best decision we made for our birth. From the very first meeting, she made us feel heard and supported. She provided so much helpful information, helped us feel prepared, and was a calming, reassuring presence throughout labor. Her warmth, knowledge, and encouragement made all the difference. We can’t recommend her enough!

I am a passionate doula and yoga teacher who loves helping people find balance and strength in every stage of life. As a birth and postpartum doula, I specialize in natural births and believe every woman should have the opportunity to birth on her own terms. I provide evidence-based education, emotional support, and hands-on care, empowering families to make informed decisions that align with their values. With a calming presence and deep respect for the birthing process, I ensure each person feels supported, heard, and in control of their experience. Above all, I am a devoted mother who cherishes time with my son. I find joy in the outdoors, spending my free moments with loved ones, on my yoga mat, or enjoying peaceful walks. My mission is to create nurturing, empowering spaces where people can grow, connect, and feel supported on their journey.

Mya is amazing! She did an excellent job going over my options (both in terms of birth interventions and her support measures) and learning my birth desires and preferred comfort measures during prenatal appointments. She took the time to interact with my children so they’d feel comfortable with her coming into our home. Once we knew baby was on the way, she arrived quickly and more than prepared for all my potential needs and desires. When labor was hard, I felt comfortable expressing my feelings, and Mya knew exactly what to do and say to encourage me and physically help me through the discomfort. My mother made it a point to call me the next day and say that Mya has a warm yet calming energy, and that she was impressed with how anticipatory Mya was (noticing when I might need water, a tens unit adjustment, a comb to hold, etc. and acting right away). I even overheard my midwife telling Mya how impressed she was and asking for business cards so she could recommend Mya to her clients. This was my third child and third unmedicated birth, and I can say with confidence that—even as an experienced and thoroughly educated mother—Mya made a significant, positive difference in how I experienced my labor. She was a trusted friend who moved through the experience with me, soothing me, supporting my family, and effortlessly helping to coordinate small details like facilitating pickup with the placenta encapsulator. I appreciated her knowledge, work ethic, and servant’s spirit. If I ever fall pregnant again, I will be hiring Mya, and I highly recommend you do, too.

Hello! My name is Tab’itha, better known as Tabby, and I’m a passionate certified professional midwife currently residing in Mesquite, Texas. I was born and raised in the Stop 6 area of Fort Worth, TX, and I am a proud mother of three teenage girls. From a young age, I always wanted to be a "baby doctor." My grandmother would often say, "You will be a doctor, and your sister will be a lawyer." Although I encountered quite a few roadblocks and detours along the way, I eventually found my way back to what my grandmother had always believed in, but in a way that resonates with me even more—becoming a midwife. I later discovered that midwifery was in my blood; my great-grandmother was a trusted midwife in her small community in Mississippi, which further inspired my journey. I graduated from Southwest Tech with an associate degree in Health Science and Midwifery in December 2024 and passed my NARM exam in April 2025, becoming fully licensed as a midwife in Texas. I am currently finishing up my Bachelor’s in Nursing at Arizona College, further enhancing my skills and knowledge in healthcare. My journey into birth work began in 2018 when I trained as a birth doula through DONA. As a doula, I have attended over 150 in-hospital and out-of-hospital births. When COVID peaked, I was fortunate enough to continue support in the hospital. It was during this time that I realized I needed to acquire the education and skills to become a community midwife sooner than I had originally planned. During my schooling, I attended an additional 95 births and worked with several well-respected midwives and OB-GYNs in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, gaining invaluable experience. I have also acquired skills and experience as a bereavement and cesarean/VBAC support specialist, allowing me to provide comprehensive care to families during significant moments in their lives. I believe in the power of compassionate care and informed choices, striving to create a safe and nurturing environment for my clients. My end goal is to become a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner, bringing holistic and woman-centered care to communities that lack representation, including the area where I grew up. As an avid homeschooler, I enjoy engaging with my daughters in their education while also finding joy in my hobbies such as sewing, crafts, hosting workshops for young girls, and assisting in the offices I hold in my church. My goal is to continue growing in my practice while providing exceptional care to those I serve.

I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. This is where my true passion lies—to provide personalized, compassionate care that honors each family's unique needs and choices. I am genuinely excited to be a part of your journey, guiding you through the miraculous experience of childbirth with unwavering support, respect, and empowerment. I look forward to connecting with you!

Having Danielle as my midwife was the best decision I could’ve made during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She became someone I could trust deeply over the course of our relationship. Shes attentive, thorough, personal, and supportive through every decision or milestone. I honestly think that because of her help in preparing me and getting me the personalized care that I needed, my home birth became the birth I had prayed for!! I can’t recommend her enough to any one looking to have a home birth or who is in need of more personalized care to have the healthiest and safest birth possible!! I will 100% be asking for her again next round :)

I’m a little late to writing this review since I had my baby in December 2025, but I’ve been meaning to share how amazing my experience with Christina Buchanan was! My first birth was in a hospital, and I remember feeling like I didn’t really have much say in the decisions being made. Having Christina as my midwife was such a completely different experience. She really believes in moms making their own choices, while still giving you honest, knowledgeable advice and making sure you feel confident in those choices. I always felt heard, respected, and supported. I gave birth in my living room, and the whole experience was honestly so empowering. Christina’s bedside manner is incredible, and I felt so comfortable and safe with her there. One thing that still amazes me is that within two hours of giving birth, my house was completely spotless. You honestly would have had no idea a baby had just been born in my living room! She was so respectful of my home and just took care of everything. After having both a hospital birth and a home birth, I can confidently say I would choose a home birth with Christina again in a heartbeat. She made the entire experience so positive and empowering, and I’m so thankful I found her. Christina is truly the best, and I would recommend her to anyone considering a home birth.

— Kamy Burns, review of Christina Buchanan, MSN CNM September 2026

Hannah was my original doulas stand in and honestly I can’t speak high enough about her, although I didn’t have the capacity or the know of what I needed in moments she made suggestions, made me feel comfortable and truly made my birth better in so many ways! She’s so sweet, caring and you can absolutely tell she’s made for this! I am beyond happy and grateful to have had her by my side during such a wonderful yet challenging moment of my life. She helped welcome my baby girl into this world and has been so supportive after as well❤️ Thank you Hannah!! You are exceptional at what you do and you have a heart of gold!

— Sydnee W., review of Hannah Bergman August 2026

I absolutely loved working with Hannah. She is affordable, educated, kind, and supportive. I was unsure of my need for a doula, and was so unbelievably thankful I had her. The midwives/nurses/OBGYN are not with you the whole time like a doula is, and that's what I needed for support in a hard, new, incredibly painful experience that was my first time birth. My husband was quite educated but even so he needed the extra support and knowledge that she provided. My goal was to achieve an unmedicated birth center birth, avoid a c-section hospital birth, and she helped me to achieve this and cope with the pain. Hannah helped the pain to be a lot more manageable with various positions & techniques. When I was 8 cm dilated but hitting a stall, she suggested I walk to chipotle and a nearby college campus-- it was amazing and I loved the chipotle!! She also helped my baby reposition when her head positioning was slightly off, something I didn't instinctually know how to adjust. If you can financially afford a doula, I would definitely recommend one and specifically Hannah!
