Marissa helped us get ready for the arrival of our first baby. We had two meetings before our girl arrived a little earlier then expected. The first meeting was getting to know each other and Marissa gave us tons informative videos we were able to watch and a few social media accounts to follow with very helpful exercises, stretches, and general partner bonding. Marissa encouraged me through the ending of my pregnancy to stay active and hydrated also to practice breath work whenever I had a moment! Marissa was always quick to respond to me or my husband's text messages or calls Even when we had the silliest of questions! She recommended a wonderful book for my husband so that he was as supportive as possible in the delivery room. Our second meeting we went over some of the best positions to be in during labor and my Birth plan. The day that I was induced, Marissa was Incredibly supportive via text message until she was able to get to the hospital. She made sure that we were asking the right questions to our providers to make sure that we were getting all the info we needed to make informed decisions. During labor Marissa was very Helpful in reminding me to breathe and counting for me during contractions. She captured some of the most beautiful photos for my husband and I during this time as well! My birth felt easier because of the suggestions Marissa gave us and the reminds in option I had in each stage of labor and birth!

Hiring Doula Odessa was one of the best decisions we made. She helped me create a birth plan and shared evidence-based resources that made me feel informed and confident throughout pregnancy. As my due date approached, she was always available and supportive. When winter weather threatened her travel, she arranged a backup doula just in case, but thankfully it wasn’t needed—Odessa drove through difficult conditions to be there early that morning and stayed with us through labor and even after my C-section. She advocated for the birth experience I hoped for while also supporting my husband and me when doctors said an emergency C-section was necessary. Although my birth didn’t go as planned, I felt heard, cared for, and supported by Doula Odessa. She gave me confidence and strength during a difficult experience, and I’m so grateful to have had her by my side.

Chelsea Da Paz

Hi there! I'm Chelsea – a wife, stay-at-home parent of two, certified birth and postpartum doula, and babywearing educator based in Connecticut. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, my journey includes a master's degree in education and 11 years of teaching music to students from PreK through grade 12. My path to becoming a doula was inspired by the isolating and challenging nature of the postpartum months. Having navigated this journey myself, I realized the importance of support during this period. I aim to alleviate the isolation many face by offering guidance and understanding. Having been the first in my friend group to experience parenthood, I understand the complexities and uncertainties. My role is to provide a compass, steering you away from the confusing and sometimes overwhelming information available online. Join me in creating a supportive community, where I offer education, solidarity, empowerment, strength, and empathy to ease your transition into parenthood

Chelsea was referred to me by a postpartum doula in my first trimester. She was the only birth doula I interviewed because I knew right away that she was the right woman for the job: A no-BS, science-based, level-headed millennial with just the right dose of sarcasm. Ahead of birth, Chelsea visited with me and my husband twice to give us crash courses in labor/delivery, Spinning Baby techniques, and Baby Basics 101 (changing a diaper, installing and using a car seat, swaddling, and babywearing). Thanks to her prep, we felt far less anxious going into labor. At the hospital, it was clear that she has mastered the perfect balance of calm encouragement and strong advocacy with medical providers. She always stays professional, but is never afraid to push back on your behalf. I went through a pretty long and difficult labor but thanks to the support of Chelsea and her colleague Rachel, who joined us for the second half through delivery, I never felt afraid, powerless, or unsafe. After birth, we continued to retain Chelsea's services as long as we could as an overnight/postpartum doula, allowing my husband and I to get much-needed rest as we both went back to work immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chelsea for any doula needs.

Smitha is absolutely amazing! She is currently helping me during postpartum with my second baby and I feel extremely supported and comfortable with her. She is so gentle while taking care of my son if I need a shower or a nap. She also helps with dishes and meal prepping if needed, which lowers my stress levels towards the end of the day. Couldn’t be more pleased with her expertise and willingness to jump right in and act as another member of my family!

Hi, I’m Danielle! I’m a postpartum doula, lactation educator, and Master Health Coach with a Bachelor’s in Health Education and a passion for holistic, practical, and proactive health for families after birth. With over a decade in healthcare, I support families through major life transitions, helping moms recover, bond with their baby, and feel confident in their new role. I take a whole-family approach, supporting physical recovery, infant feeding, emotional wellbeing, and daily life at home. I’m especially passionate about replenishing mothers, because a nourished, rested mom builds the strongest foundation for her family. I’m just another mom who has been through it and wants better for others. My postpartum journey included an avoidable postpartum hospitalization, a humbling experience that taught me so much about healing, resilience, and support. I enjoy helping families feel empowered, supported, and present with their baby so they can savor these early months with confidence.

Hi, my name is Kimberly. I am the manager of Gentle Beginnings LLC. I started my birth doula career back in 2020. I was a new mom and realized I had a passion for doula care and I decided to jump into it! Unfortunately, the pandemic made it quite difficult to attend births in person but that didn't stop me. Over the years, I learned many new families didn't just need a support person through birth but also for all the phases that followed. Currently I'm working towards my pediatric sleep consultant certification. My business partner, Evelyn, has 30+ years of experience as a nanny and newborn care specialist, and has recently been certified as a postpartum doula as well. We both decided it was time to start a new company that offered all the services! We look forward to helping you through any part of your journey as a new family and hope you choose us as your providers!

We are so thankful for Kim and her crew during those early months with our daughter. Even as a second time mom it is so helpful to have an extra set of seasoned eyes on your newborn. Our daughter was dealing with some gas issues. She was able to help us figure out what worked for our daughter. We adjusted her bottle and post feeding routine to help alleviate the gas. I also feel that they help lay the ground work for independent sleep which is such a blessing! We cannot thank them enough for the care they have provided for both of our children. If baby three ever happens, they will be our first call!

With over 30 years of experience in child care—including 16 years as a center director—I began my work as a postpartum doula in 2018. I love helping new moms navigate the fourth trimester with confidence, combining my training and hands-on experience to make a meaningful difference in their transition. Supporting families during this special time is truly my passion. I’m here to answer your questions and walk alongside you on this beautiful journey.

I cannot recommend Blissful Sleep enough! We have used them twice now, and their timeliness and reliability really stood out compared to other services we’ve tried. The doulas are natural at soothing and caring for babies, and they were incredibly helpful with establishing routines. Beyond just childcare, they did dishes, washed bottles and pump parts, and helped with other chores, which gave us more time for sleep. We appreciated how flexible they were. They always adjusted to whatever we needed that specific morning—some days that meant letting the baby sleep as long as possible, and other days they had her changed and fed so she was ready for our morning rush to school/ work. If our baby didn't need anything in the morning they would brew coffee and read to the older kiddos. They go above and beyond to support the whole family.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. We hired Michelle as a NCS to help us with overnight care for our newborn son during the first five weeks of his life. Michelle was with us five days per week and did an amazing job with our son - feeding, bathing, sleep training, etc. We are sad that her time with us has come to an end and would highly recommend hiring her to care for your newborn!

Kara is simply the best. Her support, knowledge, ability to just jump right in to any scenario a drowning new mom might be experiencing - both me and my children are blessed to call Kara a part of our village. I think the most refreshing thing about Kara is her calm demeanor. It’s fair to say I’m often on edge when she walks in and when she walks out the next morning, I’m well rested knowing my baby has been in the best hands. Highly recommend!!!
