A trailblazer and advocate for women’s health and wellness, Dr. Alicia C. Baker has made it her mission to cultivate safe spaces for growing families and bridge the gaps in healthcare education for patients and clients alike. In 2011 Dr. Baker earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University. In 2016, she acquired her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Dayton. After years of practice as a pelvic floor therapist, Dr. Baker took a leap of faith and changed the way she does PT. She went mobile, with a special target for pelvic floor patients. With multiple requests for birth assistance from patients, she became a certified Doula backed by experience supporting new mothers with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, geriatric pregnancy, and VBAC. As “The Doula PT”, Dr. Alicia actively engages within her community to guide women in ways to live and birth with confidence through pelvic floor therapy and birth support. Her goal is to empower her patients and clients by bringing light to the ways to improve health outcomes and heal their bodies.

Hello!! My name is Payton Anderson. I’m a California native currently living in Ohio due to military life, and I’ve been married to my husband for three years after being together since our freshman year of high school. I’m 22 years old and have a deep passion for women’s health, birth, and lactation—work that truly feels like my calling. I am a trained birth doula who has completed my doula education and am currently working toward certification through DONA International. This certification requires attendance and documentation of three births from both myself and the families I support. Because of this, I am offering my birth doula services at a discounted rate while completing these requirements. While I may be early in my professional doula journey, I am confident, well-educated, and fully committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and continuous support throughout your labor and birth experience. In addition to birth support, I am also on the pathway to becoming an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). This means I bring strong foundational and developing lactation knowledge into the birth space, allowing me to support early breastfeeding goals, comfort measures, and informed decision-making immediately after birth. HI. I’m Abbey, the other half of Kindred, a doula partnership I share with my amazing sister-in-law! I am a wife to my long-time boyfriend, a mother to two wild & free girls, a sister, a friend, a nurse, a small business owner, a musician, &, most recently & excitingly, a doula. I live in the rural greater Dayton area on a piece of land back a long lane, nestled against a wood of trees. It’s becoming my oasis, my resting place, our haven to grow and make memories. I am a lover of adventure and the term “settling down” or “forever home” has always terrified me, but the past few years of some intense grief and loss have taught me that a quiet space to grow into your own, to rest, is a gift and a privilege. I am grateful. My mothering tendency is becoming. With the birth of my first came the birth of my mama heart and a wonder beyond wonder. I surprised myself with the way this season was becoming my absolute best one yet. A cumulation of immense loss and grief, another pregnancy, and the birth of my second baby girl, was followed by a season of despair, as I can now call it looking back. A miscarriage followed and left me bare bones and not thriving. Today I find myself growing into who I am as a mama. I find great joy in watching my girls grow and become, great anxiety in the “what ifs” of their little lives, and am overstimulated way easier than I ever imagined possible. You’ll find us playing in the woods, splashing in water of some kind, taking trips to the library & coffee shop, making so many random breakfasts/lunches, meeting with friends, playing dress-up or make-believe of one kind of another, & soaking up the sunshine. When I’m not mumming, I’ll be reading, playing guitar, walking, working as a homecare nurse, having deep conversations with my guy, waxing nostalgic, drinking black coffee or red wine, & eating fruit of some kind, or recently more than ever, sitting & staring to find some mental rest (anyone else?). It’s so good to meet you here. I am so honored to be entering this sacred space of pregnancy, birth, & womanhood, & am looking forward to getting to know you. We’re here for it all, and want more than anything for this to become a “soft space to land”. I pursued my birth doula and lactation support training with a DONA certified doula, and am now pursuing certification myself. I am also a RN-BSN. Although I am not operating from this title while in the birth doula space, I do bring this background and experience.

I generally don't respond to requests through here, I can easily be found through various locations. My journey into midwifery started with the birth of my first child Oliana who was born by cesarean after planning a homebirth. That birth left me excited to be a mother but also confused about healing and breastfeeding. I had a lot of support in the postpartum including from our local ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) chapter. Community was important in healing and building me up as a mother during my early parenting years and community is what drives me today. In 2009 I attended Birthing From Within training in Austin learning the art of mentoring new parents through the childbearing year. My youngest child Silas was born at home in 2011, I stepped back from birth work during my pregnancy and the years after he was born. I found I needed a lot of quiet contemplation during this time and he needed a lot of time with me. In 2014 I attended toLabor doula and activist training and started a midwifery apprenticeship with CHOICE. In 2018 I became a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) specialized in out of hospital birth. I live in Columbus with my two children. We have a thriving backyard garden and are into composting and sustainable growing practices. I’m an avid reader and researcher. I try to keep up with current research around the pregnancy year and take multiple trainings a year to broaden my knowledge base. I support clients seeking homebirth and monitrice care in the Columbus, Ohio metro area and offer online coaching sessions to people who live outside of my radius of roughly an hour. I have a special interest in families planning a VBAC and HBAC (Vaginal/Home Birth After Cesarean). I am an Army veteran serving 4 years on active duty in Germany and 3 years in the reserves in Columbus. I have an undergraduate degree from Ohio State in Political Science and Women’s Studies (now Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies).
