Hi, I’m Rachael! I am a mom of three not-so-little kids (ages 21, 16, and 13), and a military spouse of 17 years, so I know a little about having to build your own village. I am a certified labor doula, postpartum and bereavement doula, to be a part of that village in your life. After walking alongside three families as a gestational carrier, I found my calling in nurturing others through the many paths of parenthood. I have always been passionate about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and all things baby, so I knew I wanted to find my place in the birth world. That experience opened my eyes to the vital role emotional and physical support plays in childbirth, and it’s why I’m here—to offer the same kind of guidance and reassurance I longed for during my labor so you can enter those fragile early postpartum days feeling calm, empowered, and supported. I share a life filled with joy in Northern Virginia with my husband and our two children, who are the center of my heart and universe. Family is everything to me, and it’s because of them that I’m so passionate about helping others navigate the journey of birth. My life has taken me to many places, including three years spent living in Germany and eight months deployed to Afghanistan. These experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying calm and grounded, especially in times of uncertainty – and I bring these lessons into my work as a doula. My background includes nannying for children of various ages, supporting families with their daily routines, and working as a sleepaway camp counselor and ceramics instructor for children ages 7–15. These experiences have helped me develop a calm, attentive approach to caregiving and an appreciation for how every family has unique needs.
