Find Childbirth Educator Jobs in Tennessee

Hi, this is my first baby. I want to know what my options are and if a water birth or a hospital birth is best suited for me. I am not sure of budget the care is for me and I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am not sure of the due date yet it is only an estimate since I haven’t gone to my 8 weeks appointment yet. I would love a doula that gives herbal/ natural remedies options but not a requirement!

I plan on having a home birth or possibly at a birthing center. I’m not very comfortable with hospitals so that’s not an option. I already hate having to go there for my appts. I would say my budget is $3-7k. I’m a very low maintenance type of person. I believe my body knows best how to birth and I trust it completely. I’m all about “if I can do it myself I will” although in this case it’s my first and having a midwife there would make me a little more comfortable. I do not plan on using any pain medication or other drugs/medication during my birthing process, I have also been looking into possibly doing a lotus birth. I’ve done lots of research on home births and the different types of birth/positions as well. I would like to take a more holistic route as I lean more toward that then birthing in a hospital with about 14 different people in the room. I have also heard way too many horror stories about women giving birth in hospitals as well. I want my wishes to be heard and respected not taken into consideration. I sometimes have a hard time voicing my concerns and opinions but I will stand firm with what I believe is best for me and my baby.

Night time help during postpartum and child education/birthing education

i have no clue what i’m doing this is my first pregnancy.

I would like to have a midwife for an at home water birth, someone who has plenty of experience in the field and can help manage any issues that arise at birth if a hospital visit is needed. Someone who will teach me about childbirth, child care, the postpartum experience, lactation and overall someone who will be very caring for mine but also my husbands needs and of course our baby.

Delivering at Parkridge in Chattanooga TN, this will be my first baby, so I want to learn a lot. I want a doula to support me and to help my husband know how to support me throughout labor in a hospital setting. I am thinking of using a low dosage of epidural, not the full thing so I can labor actively. But there is so much I don’t know yet so that could change.

I would be comfortable in a birthing center or hospital in case anything happens but ideally i’d like to have the baby at home, this is my first baby but i’ve been pretty set on a home water birth for a few years, i’ve done my research and feel it is the best option for me and how my body and mind react to pain, i need to feel like im in my own space able to breathe loudly and have help from my partner. I want to broth in a pool and have a delayed cord cutting. My budget is 5k for pre delivery check ups and delivery.

I had my daughter via emergency c-section in August 2025 due to preeclampsia. She was delivered a month early. My husband and I found out we were pregnant again while my daughter is only currently 9 months old and with a potential due date of December 29th, meaning there will only be about a 16 months old age gap. My OBGYN cleared me for a VBAC and I would really like to try to do things as naturally as possible. I feel much less confident going into this pregnancy than I did with my firstborn with a previous c-section and with the age gap. We plan on giving birth at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. I don’t know what all is possible with a VBAC but my plan with my daughter originally was no epidural, no pitocin, and to labor at home as long as possible, but again, I worry about the risks with a VBAC may mean we should be at the hospital earlier in the labor process. I am looking for information and help with laboring naturally and natural pain management.

I want a doula who will help lead me with knowledge going through pregnancy and through labor. Due to being a single mother I want to have someone there who will help support me and advocate for me! This will be my first baby and I’m so excited!
