Hello, I'm Jen Jones, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. I'm not just a childbirth educator and doula; I'm a passionate advocate for the power of informed, empowered birthing experiences. My own journey into the world of birth work was deeply personal. As a mother of three, I've walked the path of childbirth, experiencing two hospital births and one powerful home birth. It was my home birth experience that ignited a spark within me – a spark that would lead me to pursue training as a doula and create childbirth classes. The power of birth is profound. It's an experience that can transform you, inspire you, and change the way you view your own strength. My own experiences have been the driving force behind my mission to help others discover the depth of choices available in childbirth. At Mama Led Birth, I offer a range of services designed to guide and support you on your own unique birth journey. Whether you're seeking a home birth, a personalized hospital birth, or simply a greater understanding of your options, I'm here to provide you with the tools and knowledge you need. My services include online and in-person childbirth classes that cover a wide range of topics, as well as doula support – both in-person and virtually. My goal is to empower you to make informed decisions about your birth experience. I firmly believe that every expecting mother deserves to know her options and feel in control of her journey. Birth is a deeply personal, transformative moment, and I'm here to ensure it's a beautiful, empowering experience for you.

Sara Vidal

2 years of experience

I’m Sara Vidal, a certified birth doula located in Carroll County, Maryland. As a child, I was fascinated by mom’s positive stories of her varied birth experiences. Later, during my first pregnancy, I learned to access my inner calm and strength through the journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. After teaching for nearly a decade, I felt called to combine my academic expertise with my passion for birth by completing my doula certification through HypnoActive Birth created by Lauralyn Curtis Kohl. I’m also continuing my education, currently working toward my childbirth educator certification. Supporting families through the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is an honor. While the journey is unpredictable, I believe you can create flexible dreams for each. I’m committed to holding sacred space for you–helping you imagine and realize your dreams and empowering you to find your inner calm and power. I offer emotional, physical, and informational support so you feel confident, informed, and safe in your birth and postpartum choices. Outside of birth work, I enjoy spending time in nature with my family, reading, listening to indie music, baking, and crafting. As you navigate your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey, I’ll be there so you feel held throughout. I’d love to hear more about your birth and postpartum dreams and how I can support you. I believe birth deserves a positive, steady space—one where you feel peaceful, informed, and confident as you prepare to meet your baby. My goal is to support your inherent wisdom and help you feel grounded through planning, labor, and the early postpartum days. I’m known for being deeply empathetic, calm, and steady. I love naps, dark chocolate, and quiet time (I’m a self-proclaimed introvert, despite what people assume!). I was called to birth work after experiencing traumatic births, postpartum depression, and profound loss with little support. Through healing and therapy, I realized I wanted to be the kind of support I once needed—so families don’t have to go through hard seasons alone. I’m a “forever student” with an active mind, and I love bringing my trainings and tools into a supportive, practical approach that helps clients feel held and empowered. When I’m not supporting families, you can find me listening to audiobooks and podcasts, gardening, making art, and laughing at dad jokes.

Ashley was one of the best parts of my pregnancy and birth experience, and I cannot recommend her enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly communicative, supportive, and reassuring throughout my entire pregnancy. She shared so many helpful resources including texts, videos, movies, and educational materials that made me feel informed, prepared, and empowered every step of the way. During labor and delivery, Ashley was an absolute rock. She supported me through every moment with such calm, confidence, and compassion. She helped guide me through different labor positions that truly helped my labor progress, and she always made me feel safe, heard, and supported. She was my biggest advocate in the room! Even when my birth plan changed when I ultimately needed to get an epidural, Ashley fully supported my decision without judgment and helped me feel confident in what I needed in that moment. She held me while I cried about it and celebrated my journey so far and what was to come. Ashley brought such a wonderful energy into the room. She is genuinely one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and she happens to have has an awesome sense of humor. She knew exactly when to keep things lighthearted and help us laugh, and she also knew when to help me focus and channel my energy during the toughest moments. One of the things I appreciated most was how supportive she was of my husband, too. She helped guide him in how to support me during labor when neither of us really knew what to do. She made him feel confident and included, and he absolutely loved Ashley as much as I did. I am eternally grateful for her support, kindness, knowledge, and presence during one of the most important experiences of my life. She is truly incredible! Mila couldn’t have been born without her help :)
