I was introduced to this amazing work over 20 years ago and realized my true calling is supporting and empowering families during their postpartum transition. I’m 22 years old and have a deep passion for women’s health, birth, and lactation—work that truly feels like my calling. I am a trained birth doula who has completed my doula education and am currently working toward certification through DONA International. This certification requires attendance and documentation of three births from both myself and the families I support. Because of this, I am offering my birth doula services at a discounted rate while completing these requirements. While I may be early in my professional doula journey, I am confident, well-educated, and fully committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and continuous support throughout your labor and birth experience. HI. I’m Abbey, the other half of Kindred, a doula partnership I share with my amazing sister-in-law! I am a wife to my long-time boyfriend, a mother to two wild & free girls, a sister, a friend, a nurse, a small business owner, a musician, &, most recently & excitingly, a doula. I live in the rural greater Dayton area on a piece of land back a long lane, nestled against a wood of trees. It’s becoming my oasis, my resting place, our haven to grow and make memories. I am a lover of adventure and the term “settling down” or “forever home” has always terrified me, but the past few years of some intense grief and loss have taught me that a quiet space to grow into your own, to rest, is a gift and a privilege. I am grateful. My mothering tendency is becoming. With the birth of my first came the birth of my mama heart and a wonder beyond wonder. I surprised myself with the way this season was becoming my absolute best one yet. A cumulation of immense loss and grief, another pregnancy, and the birth of my second baby girl, was followed by a season of despair, as I can now call it looking back. A miscarriage followed and left me bare bones and not thriving. Today I find myself growing into who I am as a mama. I find great joy in watching my girls grow and become, great anxiety in the “what ifs” of their little lives, and am overstimulated way easier than I ever imagined possible. You’ll find us playing in the woods, splashing in water of some kind, taking trips to the library & coffee shop, making so many random breakfasts/lunches, meeting with friends, playing dress-up or make-believe of one kind of another, & soaking up the sunshine. When I’m not mumming, I’ll be reading, playing guitar, walking, working as a homecare nurse, having deep conversations with my guy, waxing nostalgic, drinking black coffee or red wine, & eating fruit of some kind, or recently more than ever, sitting & staring to find some mental rest (anyone else?). It’s so good to meet you here. I am so honored to be entering this sacred space of pregnancy, birth, & womanhood, & am looking forward to getting to know you. We’re here for it all, and want more than anything for this to become a “soft space to land”. I pursued my birth doula and lactation support training with a DONA certified doula, and am now pursuing certification myself. I am also a RN-BSN. A trailblazer and advocate for women’s health and wellness, Dr. Alicia C. Baker has made it her mission to cultivate safe spaces for growing families and bridge the gaps in healthcare education for patients and clients alike. In 2011 Dr. Baker earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University. In 2016, she acquired her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Dayton. After years of practice as a pelvic floor therapist, Dr. Baker took a leap of faith and changed the way she does PT. She went mobile, with a special target for pelvic floor patients. With multiple requests for birth assistance from patients, she became a certified Doula backed by experience supporting new mothers with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, geriatric pregnancy, and VBAC. As “The Doula PT”, Dr. Alicia actively engages within her community to guide women in ways to live and birth with confidence through pelvic floor therapy and birth support. Her goal is to empower her patients and clients by bringing light to the ways to improve health outcomes and heal their bodies.

Hi, I’m Faith! I provide compassionate postpartum and overnight newborn support to families throughout the Dayton area. With a healthcare background, NICU volunteer experience, and extensive hands-on experience caring for newborns and twins, I’m comfortable independently managing overnight care while helping parents get the rest they need during the postpartum period. My overnight support can include bottle preparation and feeding, burping, diaper changes, soothing and settling, safe sleep routines, washing and sanitizing bottles and pump parts, tracking feeds/diapers/sleep, and light newborn-related tidying. I have particular experience with twins and multiples and am comfortable tandem feeding and caring for two infants throughout the night. As I expand my services into postpartum doula care, my goal is to support not only baby, but the entire family during the transition home. I provide nonjudgmental, parent-directed support and am happy to work alongside each family’s preferred feeding, sleep, and newborn-care routines. I primarily offer overnight support and recurring postpartum arrangements, with limited daytime availability. I have a license and Masters in Social Work and prior to becoming a doula, I spent 14 years working as a social worker in the community. While I loved getting to know and work with families, my passion lies in helping and supporting women and families in all stages of pregnancy and early parenthood. After having four unique births of my own, ranging from a hospital induction to a home birth, I realized there is a lack of continuous support for women in our society specifically related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum periods. I believe there are many missed opportunities to help set families up for success, starting with pregnancy and extending through the rest of their lives. I realized this was an opportunity for me to continue to support families in my community, but in a different way. This led me to become a doula.
