Adding a new baby to your home, whether it was through naturally conceiving, through fertility treatments, surrogacy or adoption, is a life-changing moment and you need support. My team and I can help! You don’t have to start your journey alone! My name is Mary and I am a CAPPA certified postpartum doula with additional training in perinatal nutrition. I was introduced to this amazing work over 20 years ago and realized my true calling is supporting and empowering families during their postpartum transition. I love the outdoors; my hobbies include hiking, kayaking and camping and I am an avid animal lover. I am also a music and trivia nerd. I am a mom and stepmom to five amazing (adult) children and I look forward to the opportunity of serving your family. As postpartum doulas, my team is here to support and guide you as your family explores this new terrain, commonly referred to as the fourth trimester. This term, coined by Dr. Harvey Karp, denotes the 3 months following your baby’s birth and is a time of great physical and emotional change as your baby(ies) adjusts to life outside the womb. It is also the transition period that families undergo as they adjust to life with a new baby. My team takes pride in providing you space to rest, recover, and bond with your new bundle(s) of joy while providing newborn care and tackling household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, dishes etc. I offer non-judgemental, evidence-based support for you and your family as we believe parenthood looks different for every family. Our goals are to instill confidence in your decisions and empower you and your family as you navigate your way through the fourth trimester. Every family deserves care that is evidence-based, emotionally safe and inclusive regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or ability. I am absolutely honored to have the pleasure to serve Dayton, Cincinnati and the surrounding communities.

I cannot recommend Trish enough! She was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. She was incredibly knowledgeable and informative, making sure I felt educated and empowered every step of the way. She took the time to answer all of my questions and always respected my wishes without judgment. During labor, she was an unwavering source of support, helping me stay calm, confident, and focused on my birth plan. Because of her guidance and encouragement, I felt comfortable advocating for myself, and she helped me successfully carry out the birth experience I had hoped for. What truly sets her apart is the way she continued to care for me after birth. She even went above and beyond by helping prepare postpartum meals, which meant so much during such a vulnerable time. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication made me feel genuinely cared for, not just as a client, but as a mom. I am beyond grateful for everything she did for my family. If you’re looking for a doula who is supportive, respectful, compassionate, and truly invested in your well being, I wholeheartedly recommend her. She made my birth experience more positive than I could have ever imagined.

Jessica is an absolute gift. She walked with me from prenatal to delivery and I am forever grateful for that. Jessica communicated quickly and thoughtfully when I needed her virtually, offering advice and encouragement when I needed it most. When she arrived during labor, she became everything I needed. She was able to read the room and mood to know if I needed encouragement or options or if I just needed to vent or cry. The way she carries herself with her knowledge, the nurses and providers also respected her which created the most joyous environment for birth. I wasn’t able to see her during delivery but I could hear her words of encouragement ringing through the room. One of my other supporter persons told me Jessica jumped for joy when my daughter was born. That’s who she is- someone who knows birth, loves moms, loves birth and will literally jump for joy with you!

My original review was removed so I will try again and shorter. I hired Jade as a night nanny, she put my baby on a heating pad on high for likely 10 minutes. She fell asleep with my baby in a chair. She showed up late 2 times, no called now showed the last night which I paid in advance. She was unable to pace feed, easily transfer the baby to my arms or from my arms, since asking for a trial period (after knowing she lost our trust) which I declined has not answered any of my messages for 5 days. She forgot to change his diaper before bringing him to me although I told her so multiple times.

A danger to your child! After a series of bizarre events, I feel a duty to warn others about Jade. I hired her as an overnight nanny. During the first night she was with us, she showed up late, put a young baby directly on a heating pad set to high and when his screaming intensified, did not pick him up. I am so thankful I heard him crying and went to check. Later that night she fell asleep or became extremely drowsy with the baby while in a recliner and the baby was under a blanket. My partner woke to find then like that in the morning and is unsure how long they had been there like that. Both these incidents we thought were potentially misunderstandings. I thanked her but my partner and I decided to keep a close eye on her, worried we may have to let her go. The next night she showed up nearly 20 minutes late. She at one point had the baby next to her on the recliner while she looked away on her phone. The last night she was scheduled, she no called no showed. At that point we realized she was completely unreliable and the unsafe behavior was not due to misunderstandings but likely negligence on her part. In addition to the poor communication, she seemed unprepared for the job. She wore fragrance that lingered in the house (not good for babies), she didn’t seem to understand how to pace feed a baby, when I demonstrated another position she completely misunderstood and kept baby and bottle upright. I asked her to bring the baby to me after a diaper change which she kept forgetting to do. The two nights she was with us, she seemed frazzled. I recognize I should have done more to keep my baby safe from her. I deeply regret not terminating her the first night but I thought I was overreacting. I was not. I hired her for what was supposed to be 8 weeks, the first week she canceled due to illness, the next week she showed up late to her only two shifts, and was a no show the last night she had offered to come extra after missing the first week. I paid a $400 deposit meant to go towards the last two nights, then 960 for three nights after her first two. I asked only for a refund for the missed night (since I paid in advance) even though I could’ve asked for more. It’s been 4 days and I haven’t gotten the refund. I’m not writing this review because I care about the money. I’m writing this because I had a horrible experience and I’m thankful my child is ok. I hope she will work on herself to be safe for other families. Be sure to ask for references and credentials to protect your children from her, though for many reasons I would never recommend her.

I would recommend Janelle as a doula to anyone! She did such a good job of prepping us beforehand and supporting us throughout labor. I was very happy to be able to focus on helping my wife throughout her labor instead of worrying about every little thing. We are so thankful for Janelle!!
