We hired Michelle as a NCS to help us with overnight care for our newborn son during the first five weeks of his life. Michelle was with us five days per week and did an amazing job with our son - feeding, bathing, sleep training, etc. We are sad that her time with us has come to an end and would highly recommend hiring her to care for your newborn!

Hi there! I'm Chelsea – a wife, stay-at-home parent of two, certified birth and postpartum doula, and babywearing educator based in Connecticut. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, my journey includes a master's degree in education and 11 years of teaching music to students from PreK through grade 12. My path to becoming a doula was inspired by the isolating and challenging nature of the postpartum months. Having navigated this journey myself, I realized the importance of support during this period. I aim to alleviate the isolation many face by offering guidance and understanding. Having been the first in my friend group to experience parenthood, I understand the complexities and uncertainties. My role is to provide a compass, steering you away from the confusing and sometimes overwhelming information available online. Join me in creating a supportive community, where I offer education, solidarity, empowerment, strength, and empathy to ease your transition into parenthood

Chelsea was referred to me by a postpartum doula in my first trimester. She was the only birth doula I interviewed because I knew right away that she was the right woman for the job: A no-BS, science-based, level-headed millennial with just the right dose of sarcasm. Ahead of birth, Chelsea visited with me and my husband twice to give us crash courses in labor/delivery, Spinning Baby techniques, and Baby Basics 101 (changing a diaper, installing and using a car seat, swaddling, and babywearing). Thanks to her prep, we felt far less anxious going into labor. At the hospital, it was clear that she has mastered the perfect balance of calm encouragement and strong advocacy with medical providers. She always stays professional, but is never afraid to push back on your behalf. I went through a pretty long and difficult labor but thanks to the support of Chelsea and her colleague Rachel, who joined us for the second half through delivery, I never felt afraid, powerless, or unsafe. After birth, we continued to retain Chelsea's services as long as we could as an overnight/postpartum doula, allowing my husband and I to get much-needed rest as we both went back to work immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chelsea for any doula needs.

I live in Bethany, Connecticut with my husband and children, and it is my honor to walk alongside families during one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. As your birth doula, my goal is to help you feel calm, supported, informed, and deeply confident in your body and your choices. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and birth, gently reminding you of your birth preferences when focus feels hard to maintain. I guide you with visualization, relaxation techniques, and comfort measures to help you stay grounded and connected between surges. After birth, I support those precious first moments—encouraging skin-to-skin bonding and assisting with baby-led, self-latching if you plan to breastfeed—so you can begin your parenting journey feeling empowered and supported. I am DONA International certified in Birth & Postpartum Care, a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through Healthy Children, a Spinning Babies™ Certified Parent Educator, an Evidence Based Birth™ Instructor, a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and a Childbirth Educator. I also have extensive experience supporting families who use Hypnobirthing techniques and truly love helping parents create a birth experience that feels gentle, calm, and aligned with their vision. I would be honored to support you in achieving the birth you’ve dreamed of—one filled with trust, confidence, and compassionate care.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Hi there! I am Giselle, a certified labor doula serving the Hudson Valley. I bring over four years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong focus on serving high-priority and vulnerable populations, including individuals living with HIV, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. Through this work, I have learned the importance of meeting people with respect, compassion, and cultural humility. I have worked alongside individuals of many backgrounds and religious beliefs, and my Faith has guided me in building genuine connections across differences by leading with empathy, service, and understanding. As a Latina and first-generation American, I deeply understand the importance of education, representation, and support within vulnerable communities. This background allows me to approach birth work with sensitivity, inclusivity, and a commitment to ensuring that every birthing person feels respected, supported, and cared for. I felt called to become a labor doula after the birth of my son. Although my baby and I were healthy, my experience was shaped by an unexpected emergency induction. Throughout my pregnancy, I had taken the time to educate myself and prepare, yet in that moment, much of what I had learned felt difficult to access without steady guidance and support. That experience revealed to me how vital it is to have someone present who can offer reassurance, clarity, and calm during such a vulnerable time. My calling to birth work is rooted not only in my personal experience, but also in my deep desire to serve others. We often hear that it takes a village to raise a child, yet we frequently overlook the importance of supporting the person bringing that child into the world. My purpose is to help support the birthing person emotionally, physically, and informationally, so they feel seen, empowered, and cared for during one of the most transformative moments of their lives. - Others often comment on my professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic qualities that have consistently helped build trust in meaningful and vulnerable moments. I am deeply committed to showing up with consistency, accountability, and care in every role I take on. Throughout my career in patient-focused industries, I have received positive feedback and recognition from multiple supervisors, as well as from spiritual leaders I’ve collaborated with on various projects. This feedback reflects not only my compassionate, client-centered approach, but also my dedication to excellence, follow-through, and long-term impact.

With over 20 years of experience supporting families across six countries, I bring a deep understanding of the diverse ways cultures nurture parent-child relationships. My journey into birth work began as a Health Community Worker, advocating for immigrant Latino families in New York. Later, while working at a mental health agency in Connecticut, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that nurturing, consistent, and responsive caregiving has on a child’s development. This realization fueled my passion for family support and led me to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula, ensuring families receive guidance and care from the very start of their parenting journey. Three years ago, I earned my certification in Perinatal Mental Health, allowing me to further support families through the emotional complexities of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Fluent in both Spanish and English, I am dedicated to creating a compassionate and culturally informed space for every family I serve.

Martha brought a level of joy, reassurance and experience to our daughters birth we didn’t even know we needed. Every step of the way through my pregnancy she checked in on me and provided the guidance I needed. Our birth changed pretty rapidly but Martha’s positivity and expertise made the entire experience more enjoyable. We were able to really focus on the birth while she helped guide those around us on decisions we made beforehand. Pregnancy doesn’t just stop after birth, the emotional and physical work continues after you’re home as well. Martha is there by your side through it all! She helped change my postpartum experience immensely, I cannot thank her enough. I will forever recommend The Knitting Doula!

With years of experience and a deep commitment to exceptional newborn and postpartum care, I am a certified, fully insured, CPR and First Aid-certified, professional doula dedicated to providing an elevated level of support to growing families. It has been my privilege to serve countless families throughout my career, many of whom have welcomed me back for each of their children and graciously referred me to their family and friends. These enduring relationships are a reflection of the trust, consistency, and personalized care that define my practice. I believe that truly exceptional postpartum support extends far beyond newborn care. Every family deserves a calm, reassuring presence, thoughtful guidance, and the flexibility to adapt to their evolving needs. My approach is intuitive, discreet, and tailored to each family's unique routines, preferences, and parenting philosophy, allowing parents to recover, rest, and embrace this extraordinary season with confidence and peace of mind. My professional expertise is complemented by the invaluable perspective of raising four children of my own, including singletons and multiples born through both spontaneous vaginal deliveries and Cesarean birth. I consider it a true privilege to provide the highest standard of newborn and postpartum care, creating an environment where families feel nurtured, supported, and confident from the very beginning.

Marissa helped us get ready for the arrival of our first baby. We had two meetings before our girl arrived a little earlier then expected. The first meeting was getting to know each other and Marissa gave us tons informative videos we were able to watch and a few social media accounts to follow with very helpful exercises, stretches, and general partner bonding. Marissa encouraged me through the ending of my pregnancy to stay active and hydrated also to practice breath work whenever I had a moment! Marissa was always quick to respond to me or my husband's text messages or calls Even when we had the silliest of questions! She recommended a wonderful book for my husband so that he was as supportive as possible in the delivery room. Our second meeting we went over some of the best positions to be in during labor and my Birth plan. The day that I was induced, Marissa was Incredibly supportive via text message until she was able to get to the hospital. She made sure that we were asking the right questions to our providers to make sure that we were getting all the info we needed to make informed decisions. During labor Marissa was very Helpful in reminding me to breathe and counting for me during contractions. She captured some of the most beautiful photos for my husband and I during this time as well! My birth felt easier because of the suggestions Marissa gave us and the reminds in option I had in each stage of labor and birth!

Claire was an invaluable and irreplaceable part of our birth experience. Claire's experience and guidance helped us thoughtfully create a birth plan that met our goals, which included managing my own expectations. As these things go, my birth plan was merely the road map for a very different series of events, and every step of the way, Claire was incredibly supportive in both the physical and emotional elements of the birth of our daughter. Claire’s presence and advocacy was instrumental to my husband and I communicating effectively with the hospital team and her support following the birth was immeasurable, both in hospital and at home post-partum. Her contributions to our birth exceeded my expectations, especially under unexpected circumstances. Claire's practice of providing us with evidence-based information needed to make our own informed decisions was grounding and invaluable. We are so thankful for Claire's support throughout our first pregnancy and birth.

— Emily W., review of Claire Lovell September 2026

Kara is an exceptional doula with a gentle demeanor and reassuring bedside manor. Her support and guidance made me feel deeply cared for through pregnancy, labor and into postpartum. As a first-time mom, she provided me with resources for every stage of this life changing experience. If you are looking for a doula who will genuinely invest in your birth journey, Kara is the one! Her passion shines through every step of the way!
