The cost of a night nanny in Cambridge, ON can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Cambridge, ON, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

I am a birth worker since 2012, I have provided a variety of services in a variety of settings around the world. I am located in Toronto, Canada, but I am available to travel for minimum one month commitments. I have worked in Macau & Hong Kong, Manila, Nairobi, Vancouver, and Guadalajara, and have a global perspective on birth physiology and traditions. I provide trauma-informed, and culturally safe care, be it education, lactation support, birth and postpartum doula services, or midwifery care. I’m available as a midwife only where a license isn’t required. My approach is very collaborative—rather than “save” you from unsafe practitioners, I prefer to work with you comprehensively in the prenatal period to be sure you have the environment you need for a peaceful and satisfying (physiologic, if possible) birth. My years and depth of experience and knowledge sets me apart from most locally-focused doulas, so I tend to work well with expats and globe-trotters like myself. My happy place is home in Ontario in the near North, at the cottage that has been a part of my family’s experience for 100+ years. I love all animals but especially dogs, and I ADORE drinking coffee and discussing big ideas.

If you want the best, hire Christy. Where to begin? We LOVED working with Christy. If you’re reading these reviews wondering if you should have her as your doula, you definitely should. Our experience with Christy was nothing short of extraordinary. After the birth, I described Christy to my husband as our angel - as it felt that she magically appeared and blended in, giving just the right level of support and guidance, without being overbearing or intrusive. Her presence felt very natural and she completely put myself and my husband at ease. Christy played a pivotal role in helping me establish breastfeeding, which really helped set us up for success with feeding, and having her there to help with this immediately after the birth was invaluable. After our daughter was born, Christy continued to check in with us, and we felt extremely well looked after. She is clearly an expert both in caring for mothers in the postpartum period, but also in caring for newborns, and her years of experience meant we felt in very capable hands. Her dedication to postpartum care is unmatched, and her deep understanding of the emotional and physical needs of both the birthing person and their partner is truly remarkable. Christy’s passion for what she does shines through in every interaction, and her knowledge in perinatal care is both comforting and empowering. I give Christy my highest recommendation – any family would be very lucky to have her as part of their parenting journey!

Hi, I’m Emma, your local birth bestie and birth aficionado! I’m a DONA trained doula based out of Toronto, ON looking to support families throughout their birth journey. My goal is to provide amazing care to each client, tailored to their specific needs. Ever since I was young, I have been passionate about supporting families. Inspired by my childhood dreams of being a early childhood educator, an OBGYN and later a midwife, I have always felt a strong pull towards family care and birth work. In my community, I started by becoming the favourite neighborhood babysitter, then in University I became a loving part time nanny, then moved on to work as a manager of a children’s swim school for several years. Alongside my passion for birth support, I have a deep appreciation for art and creativity. I spent three years working at an art gallery and went on to get my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Painting. Even then, my dream of caring for families never left me, with my passions leading me to run impromptu prenatal education sessions during lunch breaks at work. In May of 2024 I made the exciting decision to take a step back from my art career and focus full time on becoming a doula. Now, I am dedicated to being the best “birth bestie” I can be for my clients by proving them with compassionate care, encouragement, and unwavering support every step of the way.

Words can’t fully express how grateful we are to have had Doris as our birth doula. From the very beginning, she brought such a calming, grounded, and nurturing energy into our journey. She took the time to truly get to know us—our fears, hopes, and birth preferences—and made us feel completely supported and empowered every step of the way. During labor, Doris was an absolute rock. She created a peaceful environment, gently guided me through each contraction, and helped my partner feel confident and involved. Her presence was intuitive and comforting—knowing just when to offer words of encouragement, grounding touch, or simply hold space. She honored our birth plan while remaining flexible and wise when things needed to shift. What stood out most was how she held space not just for the physical birth, but for the emotional and spiritual process too. Her care felt ancestral, like something deep and sacred was being honored. Postpartum, she checked in with such genuine care, offering wisdom, warmth, and reassurance when we needed it most. If you’re looking for a doula who is deeply attuned, knowledgeable, and truly walks beside you in love and respect—Doris is it. She made our birth experience not only beautiful, but transformational

Hello birthing parents! My name is Linda May. I am an experienced doula ( over 12 years ). Congratulations on beginning your journey into motherhood! As a mother of four babies I remember what an exciting but also a little frightening time this is. I love being a doula because I can help women decrease their fear and turn it into empowerment. My background as a nurse helps me to understand the scientific evidence that shows having a doula as part of your birth decreases labour times and the need for interventions. It is wonderful that you’ve been able to reach out and find support. As Ina May Gaskin said, we are not lemons! I strongly resonate with her belief that we were created to birth, and it would be my honour to support you and help give you the birth that you are looking for, whatever that means for you. Sincerely, Linda May. Ps. Please bear with me with regards to my social media presence! I am in the process of updating everything including my website. Anything you wish to know please do not hesitate to contact me directly. (519)852-4064

I was so thankful for Linda’s support overall and especially leading up to labor. She was very emotionally and spiritually invested in supporting me as I prepared to deliver a third baby after a traumatic labor with my second. I loved having her support during labor, and I felt less lonely after my baby was born when they were checking him over. She stayed with me while everyone else was focused on the baby and that meant so much to me. She also stayed much longer than she needed to, to make sure she could offer support with breastfeeding. These were some of the many joys of having Linda involved, I would highly recommend her given her emotional and spiritual support, and physical support before, during and after labour. She was SO helpful, and was instrumental in redeeming my second labour with this third one. It was a beautiful and much more positive experience!

I’m incredibly proud to write this review for my daughter as she begins her journey as a doula. From the very start, she has approached this role with genuine passion, care, and dedication. Having completed her training and already supported her first birth, she has shown that she is more than ready to take on this important work. She is a deeply loving and supportive presence, someone who naturally puts others at ease. Her attentiveness and strong sense of responsibility ensure that nothing is overlooked—she is both detail-oriented and highly task-focused, which brings a sense of calm and confidence to those around her during such an important time. What stands out most is her ability to truly be present. She listens, she cares, and she shows up fully for the families she supports. I have no doubt that she will continue to grow and excel as a doula, making a meaningful difference in the lives of many. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate, reliable, and thoughtful support during their birth experience.

Hi, I’m Jess, founder of Millie & Marin Newborn & Infant Care, providing warm, attentive support to families throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Waterdown, Ancaster and Hamilton. I specialize in overnight newborn and infant care, giving parents the opportunity to rest while knowing their baby is being lovingly and attentively cared for just steps away. During the night, I respond to your baby’s needs, support feeding and burping, change diapers, soothe and settle baby back to sleep, and carefully document feeds, diaper changes and sleep stretches so you know exactly how the night went. My care extends beyond baby, too. I believe supporting a newborn means supporting the whole family. While your household sleeps, I work quietly and wash and prepare bottles, tidy baby-related items and help reset your space for the morning. I tidy and stock supplies in the nursery. I also offer complimentary concierge support for small baby essentials such as diapers or wipes when needed. I offer this service because I know very well that sometimes you just need that last minute thing and I want to support you in any way I possibly can. I bring more than 20 years of professional caregiving experience, including a nursing background, along with extensive experience supporting children and families. My approach with newborns is responsive, gentle and individualized — I follow your baby rather than expecting your baby to fit into a rigid routine. I’m comfortable caring for singletons and twins and offer both ongoing packages and flexible hourly care. Most importantly, I understand what a privilege it is to be invited into a family’s home during such a vulnerable and exhausting season. My goal is for you to go to bed knowing your baby is in capable, caring hands — and wake feeling a little more rested and supported. Warmly, Jess 🤍 Millie & Marin Newborn & Infant Care
