If you value both evidence and intuition, I might be the doula for you. I love helping clients combine research and their own instincts to make decisions that are right for them. Furthermore, I might be the doula for you if you want support without an agenda. I don’t believe there’s an ideal way to approach birth or postpartum adjustment. I’m here to understand and support whatever path you want to take.

It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for Glo. As a first-time mom living far from much of my family, I was nervous about navigating the postpartum period, but after our very first night with Glo, I knew we had found someone incredibly special. Glo is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, reliable, gentle, and kind. She brought a sense of calm and confidence into our home during a time when everything felt new. She was always there to answer questions, talk through different approaches, and help us navigate each new stage with our daughter without ever making us feel like there was one “right” way to do things. She also went far beyond simply caring for our baby. Glo helped us set up systems that made our entire bottle prep, feeding, and sanitizing routine so much more efficient and organized. Whenever we needed additional support, she had an incredible network of trusted resources to direct us to, including a lactation consultant who ended up being invaluable to me. One of the things I appreciated most was how intentional she was about understanding our goals. Each week, she listened to what we wanted to work on—both in the immediate moment and more broadly with our daughter—and helped us turn those goals into clear, actionable plans. So many of the routines and systems she helped us establish have worked incredibly well for our family and given us confidence as new parents. More than anything, Glo gave me one of the greatest gifts I could have received as a new mother: confidence in my ability to be a mom. She never imposed her way of doing things; instead, she gave me the knowledge, support, and encouragement to trust my own instincts. She was endlessly supportive and brought such a gentle, reassuring presence into our home. When I look back on the time I became a mother, Glo will forever be a part of that memory. Her warmth, knowledge, patience, and support were more meaningful than I ever could have anticipated. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her by their side, and I truly cannot recommend her enough.

We hired Ms. Veronica as a night doula and newborn care specialist for our two daughters. We first reached out to Ms. Veronica before the birth of our first daughter and worked with her during those early months, then again when she traveled with us for the birth of our second daughter, when we hired her as our Traveling Doula. We highly recommend her as a doula in any capacity. As we were getting ready and preparing for the arrival of our first baby, we learned about the classes Ms. Veronica offers as a New Parent Educator. We decided to take three private one-on-one classes with her, including her One-on-One Newborn Care Class and New Daddy Doula Class. These sessions gave both of us the opportunity to learn together and prepare for what to expect before bringing our baby home. As first-time parents, having that education and preparation before our daughter's birth was incredibly valuable and helped us feel much more knowledgeable and confident going into parenthood. Her expertise in newborn care was obvious from our very first weeks with her. She shared countless tips we never would have found in a book or online, drawn from her many years of experience. Neither of us had much prior experience raising babies, but we already felt confident after just two meetings with her.We specifically wanted a doula who wouldn't simply take over, but who would guide us so we could continue providing the best care for our children after she was gone. Ms. Veronica was thorough in communicating and explaining her reasoning behind everything she did. She was meticulous about tracking feedings and wet diapers, and always had a plan to keep our babies happy and thriving in their earliest months. We were also impressed by how flexible she was with our dates, since it's notoriously hard to predict when a baby will arrive. This was put to the test when she traveled with us for our second daughter as our Traveling Doula. A situation that normally would have been stressful and exhausting, but she made it far easier to manage. She was also accommodating about adjusting our daily schedule, since we were both still working and not yet on parental leave. The moment we remember most is how she sleep-trained our first daughter. She built a plan and continually adapted it as needed, quickly getting our daughter to 12 hours of sleep through scheduled feedings - a change that gave us both much-needed rest. Even today, our daughter still sleeps 12 hours every night. We honestly believe every parent should have someone like her whether they are first-time parents or need a helping hand. It can feel a little intimidating to have someone new caring for your newborn, but we never once hesitated to trust her. She cares for your baby as if it were her own, while setting you up for success as first-time parents.

There are people who do a job, and then there are people who change your life. Dessira is the latter. She entered our lives when our son was born premature and jaundiced. Dessira helped our baby gain weight and, at the same time, provided calm encouragement that helped us become confident parents. That gift is priceless, and I will never forget it. She returned to us when our son was two and stayed until he was six. During those years, she helped us build a nutrition and activity plan. This kept him energized, curious, and challenged--without empty calories or screens. The positive effects of this plan are too many to list here, but the best was his dramatically improved sleep schedule. My son had a mildly rocky transition from nursery school to a TK/K mix to a TK-only class. At the time, I worked 60-70-hour workweeks and cannot overstate the comfort of knowing my son was safe, stimulated, and thriving with Dessira during the day. At night, I was able to be fully present with my son because Dessira handled housework and other distractions that would have taken away from that precious time. She did this without being asked. I'm grateful to her because if she hadn't, I wouldn't have thought of it. Dessira is exceptional with infants and children of all ages. She is calm under pressure because she has a deep well of knowledge and experience to draw from. She prioritizes safety -- the safety of their bodies, of course, and also their minds and hearts. She values imagination and curiosity, and she brings genuine warmth, humor, and fun to every day. Dessira is unique in that she cares for the whole family as a single ecosystem, where the health of all depends on the health of each. She is a wonderful listener, and as she learns what matters to you -- as parents, as people -- she reflects that back to you with encouragement and practical creativity. When I said, "Well, ideally we'd do this, but that's probably unrealistic," her response was, "Maybe so -- but let's talk about it for a minute, just to see." Most of the time, with a bit of creativity and brainstorming, we made it happen. When we didn't, I felt supported and seen, which I found to be equally valuable. It makes a big difference in my life when a smart, energetic person is on my team. I'm better at my job, I'm a better partner, and I'm a better mom. If you are lucky enough to get Dessira in your corner, I am genuinely happy for you and your family to have the kind of support that will enrich your lives.

We feel so lucky that Maria has been part of our family for the past three months helping take care of our son, Cal, as a nighttime Newborn Care Specialist. She has been absolutely amazing, and we truly couldn’t have gotten through the newborn trenches without her! From day one, Maria has been so loving, caring, patient, and attentive with him. She has such a natural way with babies and somehow always knows exactly what he needs. It’s been so sweet to watch the bond they’ve developed, and it’s obvious how much she genuinely loves and cares for him. Maria has also been an incredible resource for us as first-time parents. She has so much knowledge and experience, but she never made us feel like we were doing anything wrong or asked too many questions. She was always happy to share advice, help us figure things out, and give us confidence when we needed it. She brought such a calm, reassuring presence into our home, which made a huge difference during those long and exhausting newborn nights. And somehow, thanks in large part to Maria, our son is already sleeping through the night! She helped us establish great routines and sleep habits while still giving him so much love and attention. We honestly don’t know how we would have survived without her. Beyond how amazing she is with our son, Maria is just a wonderful person to have around. She is dependable, thoughtful, kind, trustworthy, hardworking, and incredibly easy to have in our home. She always went above and beyond and made our lives so much easier. We always felt completely comfortable leaving him in her care, which is truly priceless. Maria has been such a special part of this chapter for our family. We are so grateful for everything she has done for us. She is truly one of those people you feel incredibly lucky to have found, and we would recommend her in a heartbeat to any new parents. Any family would be SO lucky to have Maria!

I love all things birth and feel that my strongest assets are listening, empathy, providing resources and cooking homemade meals for others. I tell all my clients, if there is a birth I am there. This Is Your Body, Your Birth & Only You Get To Make The Decisions That Works Best For You & Your Baby. I have two spirited little ones of my own; ages 4 and 6. These are the experiences I wish to provide to my future clients. I have experience in homebirths, birth centers & hospital settings. Rebecca was very thorough in the education she provided to us as first time parents in the lead up to the birth. There were 4 in depth sessions which were really appreciated and learned tons during. It alleviated some nervousness around giving birth. During the birth, she came over just before the baby was born at the hospital and gave me a massage and really helped advocate for my wishes as predefined in the birth plan (which she helped me develop). After the baby was born, we had a few additional sessions with her. She brought over bone broth, did a baby massage, and really made the day special for me with a tray of yummy treats. Additionally, she did a closing of the bones ceremony. It's really when i realized that in becoming a mom I went through a transition and a change that was more than I really understood pre-birth. I remain super grateful to Rebecca for the wonderful care she provided me during our time together. Thank you for all the training and education prior to the birth and in taking care of me post partum. I wished I had more time with her!

I found Camila through Carrot’s recommended list of postpartum doulas, and as a first-time mom, I’ll admit I was nervous about having someone else care for my daughter. After our consultation, I had such a good feeling about Camila, and that’s where it all began. We had Camila with us for six weeks, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better postpartum doula. Her experience with babies is evident in everything she does. She cared for my daughter as if she were her own—with so much patience, love, and understanding, even through the most restless nights. Beyond caring for my daughter, Camila was also an incredible source of support for me. She gave me so many helpful tips and advice as a new mom, and I’m incredibly grateful for the confidence she helped give me during those early weeks. She was not only our doula but also became a friend who was there to help me navigate the ups and downs of new motherhood. Knowing my daughter was in such capable and loving hands allowed me to truly rest at night, which was invaluable during those first six weeks. From the moment I stepped into the world of birth and postpartum work, I knew this was my calling. I’m a Birth & Postpartum Doula and Newborn & Infant Care Specialist serving families across the Bay Area and East Bay, with a background grounded in evidence-based care, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine passion for supporting parents during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives. My training includes Cross-Certification through ProDoula as a Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, Hospital Friendly Doula (HFD) Certification as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist certification through the University of Colorado, CPR & First Aid through the Menlo Park Fire Department, CERT Member through the Menlo Park Fire Department, Child Development through Abilene, continuing education in Lactation (UCSD), Infant Massage, and professional development in Sleep Shaping/Sleep Training through Summer Sleep Secrets. I am also an active volunteer doula at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, supporting birthing people and families from diverse backgrounds. Families often describe my approach as a blend of warmth, intuition, and grounded professionalism. I deeply believe in meeting each family where they are — without judgment, without pressure, and with a plan that reflects their unique rhythms, identities, and goals. I proudly support LGBTQ+ families, offering fully inclusive, gender-affirming care and language so every parent feels safe, welcomed, and respected. My philosophy is rooted in gentle structure and the Montessori method, encouraging independence for both parents and babies through simple, responsive routines. I specialize in newborn behavior, feeding, sleep foundations, and emotional support — helping families understand their baby’s cues and build healthy rhythms from the very beginning. One of my strongest areas of expertise is sleep shaping, using age-appropriate techniques that allow many babies to sleep through the night by 4–5 months, always with a respectful, attachment-minded approach. Clients often share that I have an effortless way of integrating into the home, anticipating needs before they are spoken, and creating an environment of peace, order, and emotional safety. Whether supporting breastfeeding, troubleshooting sleep, soothing a fussy newborn, guiding siblings, or caring for a recovering parent, my goal is always the same: to bring calm, clarity, and confidence to the postpartum experience. For me, being a doula is more than a profession — it’s a devotion to nurturing, empowering, and walking alongside families during a beautiful and vulnerable chapter. Every home I enter becomes part of my heart, and it is an honor to support parents as they grow into their new roles with confidence, joy, and rest. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your baby with tenderness, support your recovery with evidence-based expertise, honor your family’s identity, and guide you with compassion every step of the way, I would be honored to walk this journey with you.

I had the pleasure of working with Josy as my postpartum doula, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From day one, she was incredibly respectful of our family's needs and preferences, always communicating clearly and checking in to make sure we felt supported. Josy's knowledge of infant care is exceptional. She guided us through everything from feeding and sleep routines to soothing techniques with confidence and expertise. She supported me on my nursing journey and with infant massage, especially tummy massage in the early weeks. What truly impressed me was her commitment to continuously learning and deepening her skills—she stayed current with the latest research and best practices, which gave me tremendous peace of mind during those early weeks. Her calm and joyful presence and genuine care made such a difference during a vulnerable time. If you're looking for a postpartum doula who is professional, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to her craft, Josy is an outstanding choice. Beyond her technical expertise, what truly set Josy apart was her extraordinary kindness and emotional intelligence. She understood that welcoming a newborn into the family is about so much more than feeding schedules and sleep—it's about navigating a profound life transition with all its joys and challenges. Josy met us exactly where we were, without judgment, and created a safe space for us to ask questions, express concerns, and adjust to our new reality. Her deep understanding of the needs of families with newborns was evident in countless small but meaningful ways. She anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, whether it was preparing a nourishing snack, tidying up the kitchen so we could rest, or simply sitting with me during a difficult moment and offering reassurance. She recognized when I needed encouragement and when I just needed someone to listen. Josy also showed remarkable sensitivity to the dynamics of our whole family. She understood that postpartum support isn't just about the baby—it's about caring for parents as they adjust to their new roles, managing recovery, sleep deprivation, and the emotional roller coaster of those first weeks. Her presence brought a sense of calm and competence that allowed us to feel more confident as parents. What I valued most was her genuine warmth and the way she made us feel seen and supported as individuals, not just clients. Josy truly cares about the families she works with, and that compassion shines through in everything she does. Having her by our side during those precious early weeks was an invaluable gift.

Hiring an overnight doula from Peaceful Passages was one of the best decisions I made for my postpartum recovery. Not only did my doula lovingly care for me and my newborn, she went above and beyond—prepping nourishing meals, providing breastfeeding support, organizing the baby’s nursery, and even helping with my twin toddlers so I could rest. Her calm, professional presence made my healing after a c-section so much easier. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Tiffany for postpartum doula support, and we truly couldn’t be more grateful for her care and expertise. As first-time parents, we were navigating unfamiliar territory and looking for someone who could guide us through the early days with our newborn son. Tiffany exceeded every expectation. She supported us in so many important ways—from troubleshooting feeding and gas issues to helping establish healthy sleep habits (as much as possible with a newborn!). Her guidance gave us the confidence we needed as new parents, and her calm, reassuring presence was invaluable. Tiffany cared for our son twice a week for several hours at a time, giving both mom and dad a chance to rest and recharge. Beyond caring for our baby, she was also a tremendous support to me as a first-time mom. I am a certified postpartum doula with +6y of hands-on experience supporting families and caring for newborns and children. My approach is grounded in respect, emotional safety, and evidence-based care. I believe the postpartum period is a sacred transition—one that deserves patience, gentleness, and knowledgeable support. My role is to help families feel confident, informed, and truly supported as they recover, bond, and find their own rhythm at home. My philosophy centers on meeting each family where they are. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all parenting; instead, I honor each family’s values, culture, and instincts while offering practical guidance and calm reassurance. I focus on nurturing both the baby and the parents—supporting feeding, sleep, recovery, and emotional wellbeing—so families can feel empowered rather than overwhelmed. My goal is always to create a peaceful, judgment-free environment where parents feel seen, heard, and capable during one of the most important chapters of their lives.

Nathalia is the best! She has a sweet and gentle demeanor which puts babies and parents at ease. She is incredibly thoughtful and insightful, and made several recommendations to help us sleep longer (our main priority), which really helped. She also immediately identified a deeper issue I’d been having related to milk supply and raised it incredibly tactfully and helped me move past it. If you’re looking for someone who will truly take care of you and your family, look no further!

Hello! My name is Ladjane Sampaio and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula and experienced Nanny based in the Bay Area. I am also a proud Brazilian mother of five, and it’s from this deep well of personal experience and love that I draw my strength and purpose as a caregiver. Supporting families through the delicate postpartum period is not just my profession—it’s my calling. I bring a calm, compassionate, and culturally sensitive presence to every home I serve, helping parents feel empowered, seen, and truly supported as they adjust to life with a new baby. I offer hands-on newborn care, breastfeeding support, postpartum recovery assistance, light housekeeping, and home organization to ensure a peaceful and well-supported transition into parenthood. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have excellent references that reflect my professionalism, reliability, and loving care. While English is not my first language, I communicate clearly and warmly—and most importantly, I know how to care for babies with confidence, love, and great attention to detail. Families often tell me how reassured and cared for they feel with me by their side. I speak Portuguese fluently and am happy to support multilingual families with empathy and understanding. I would be honored to support your postpartum journey with heart, skill, and experience.
