Angela was very helpful in guiding us on our 2nd child birth and giving us very helpful advice in just a 45 minute initial consultation. Unfortunately we couldn't go with them for logistical reasons but would love to use them in the future if possible!

Hiring an overnight doula from Peaceful Passages was one of the best decisions I made for my postpartum recovery. Not only did my doula lovingly care for me and my newborn, she went above and beyond—prepping nourishing meals, providing breastfeeding support, organizing the baby’s nursery, and even helping with my twin toddlers so I could rest. Her calm, professional presence made my healing after a c-section so much easier. I was especially impressed by how seamless everything was—she was professionally dressed, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. On top of that, Peaceful Passages accepted my Carrot insurance and handled all the billing with ease, which lifted such a burden off my shoulders. This service was truly a lifesaver for me and my family. I felt cared for, supported, and able to focus on bonding with my baby. I can’t recommend their overnight doula services enough!

Hallelujah!! That’s what I shouted when I was finally able to find Beth! She has been with me through two home births and now takes care of my entire family as our Primary. Her prenatal and Homebirth care were amazing, I always felt listened to. Each visit there was respect and connection! I had a lot of opinions on what I wanted and didn’t want and she talked with me about each of them and never tried to force me to change my mind about anything. Even Vaccines!!! Leading up to my homebirths I was intimidated and spoke to her about that, she was able to point me in the right direction for resources and made great recommendations for my specific fears. When it finally came time to have my babies she was exactly the presence I needed. Hands off but there. My husband and I felt absolutely taken care of and safe. She trusted my body and helped me to trust it to. My sons labor was textbook but my daughters labor was all over the place, 1min contractions followed by 15min breaks or 30sec contractions followed by 1min break. Just all over the place. (I know I would have been given pitocin if I was in a hospital.) I was worried but she reassured me that everything was fine and sure enough my daughter came out in the exact same amount of time it took for my son! I had a 15min rest period between contractions right before the last one that got her out. They were both 6hour labors with drastically different contraction cycles and both ended with beautiful births and healthy babies! I adore her middle of the road approach to health care. She gives amazing advice on things to do for sicknesses and different issues without running to medication. Which is very important for us. Even with ADHD issues she’s given me different things to try that I had never thought of. You kind of only think medication but there’s a whole lot we could do if that’s the route you choose. Having a primary that intimately knows my kids and myself is something I thought wasn’t possible at this day and age. We are so blessed to have found her and I feel completely confident that my kids health is the most important not some agenda! We are blessed to have a Primary we COMPLETELY trust that we can run to!

I am a Certified VBAC Doula, trained to serve as a birth and postpartum doula, and offer bereavement doula services for those experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. A successful VBA2C using Hypnobabies in 2011 ignited my enduring passion for supporting and achieving optimal birthing experiences and sharing information about pregnancy and birth to advocate for better perinatal and newborn health outcomes. I’m the owner of Atala Doula Services, serving the Sacramento region and surrounding counties of northern California. Having spent most of my adult working life as a technical writer, which involves gathering information from subject matter experts and creating written resources that even non-technical people can easily understand and follow, I realized the work was not as rewarding or fulfilling as I wish it would be. So, I embarked on some introspection to evaluate my personality, my strengths, what I enjoyed about my prior work, and what I most want to do in the future…be a source of support and empowerment for others.

Hire Gina if you're looking for a positive birth experience! I was the first of my friends to have a Doula and wasn't quite sure what to expect. It ended up being one of the best decisions involving my pregnancy/delivery because she was so supportive and valuable every step of the way. Gina helped me prepare for giving birth by meeting with me and discussing my fears about labor, how to best support me, strategies for a smooth labor, etc. She was on-call for me and met my family and I at the hospital immediately when we called her (at midnight) when I went into labor. Gina was so professional with the hospital staff and my family. She provided strategies and aid to keep me comfortable throughout labor and helped me understand what was happening and what to expect next. Yes there were nurses to help, but they had other patients requiring their care and Gina was a constant, knowledgeable, and calm presence. Gina was also extremely helpful during the delivery and did not leave my side afterward until she knew that I was stable and moving to the postpartum room to rest. She's been so supportive during these postpartum weeks and I'm so grateful to her! While Gina's support was a service that I paid for, she has genuinely felt like family throughout this experience. She went so above and beyond for me and my baby and made our experience a special one.

I am so grateful I found Anita as my doula. She responded quickly to my inquiry through insurance, which meant a lot because I was trying to secure a doula as soon as possible and learn more about the process. From the beginning, she made me feel at ease, calm, and truly understood. She listened to what I wanted for my birth experience and respected my preferences. During labor, Anita was incredibly responsive—always quick to answer texts and calls—and she arrived at the hospital right on time. She was professional, supportive, and fully present throughout the entire process. I had a natural birth, and the pain was intense, but Anita made a huge difference. She used techniques like applying pressure, guiding me into helpful positions, and placing cold towels on my forehead and chest to keep me comfortable. Her support helped me get through one of the most challenging moments of my life. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend Anita to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and skilled doula.

I had a very pleasant birth experience because I chose Olena. She provided a lot of information that put me at ease and communicated with the hospital staff. I highly recommend her.

— Olga Novichkov, review of Olena Duda

October 2026

I am incredibly grateful to Olena. This was my third baby, but my first birth with a doula, and I had never felt so prepared for childbirth before. I had two previous C-sections. With my first baby, I never experienced labor because my C-section was scheduled. With my second, I planned a home birth with a midwife, but unexpectedly had to go to the hospital. I was completely unprepared for a hospital birth and eventually agreed to another C-section. This time was completely different. Olena met with me for nine one-hour sessions before the birth and prepared me so thoroughly. She taught me about nutrition, walking, exercises, breathing, positions, contractions, the stages of labor, and so many things that could help. Even though this was my third baby, I learned so much from her. For the first time, I entered labor feeling informed, confident, and prepared. During my birth, Olena stayed by my side. She breathed with me through contractions, massaged me, applied counter-pressure to my hips, helped me change positions and do exercises, brought helpful tools, essential oil, and played calming music. When I was exhausted and in intense pain, her presence and support made an enormous difference. Toward the end, I felt I couldn’t continue and was ready to ask for an epidural. Olena suggested trying nitrous oxide first. It helped me relax and breathe deeply, and very soon afterward my baby was born. By the grace of God, after two C-sections I gave birth vaginally to a 4,515 g (9 lb 15 oz) baby, using only nitrous oxide for pain relief! I am so thankful for Olena’s preparation and support. I truly don’t know how I would have done it without her. Her care didn’t end with the birth. Olena visited me postpartum, brought groceries, and cooked my favorite borscht right in my kitchen while teaching me a new recipe. My husband ate two bowls, and my son, who didn’t like borscht before, said he loves it now! 😊 It is difficult to put into words how grateful I am. Olena’s knowledge, kindness, generosity, and genuine care meant so much to me. I truly feel she was a blessing during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. Thank you, Olena, from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget your support. ❤️🙏
