As a new mom, my husband and I didn’t have any family nearby, so I had many questions and felt unsure about what to expect after my pregnancy. Tiffany was a helpful resource before, during, and after the birth. With so many things I didn’t know and no one to guide me, Tiffany stayed with us and was always friendly, dependable and easy to talk to. She offered kind support and helpful advice for all my questions. Our baby also felt very comfortable with her, which made our transition to life with a new baby much easier. We are very thankful for Tiffany’s help as our doula. Having her around at such an important time meant a lot to our family. Even months after the baby was born, she continued to be a caring and dependable presence, and our little one has grown to love her.

Hello! My name is Makaishea or Mak! I am a trauma informed birth and postpartum doula here on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil- Waututh Nations (Lower Mainland, BC more precisely the Tri-Cities). I come from mixed Caribbean, Indigenous, and European heritage. Specifically, Jamaican and Matsqui First Nations, we are one of the 11 tribes that make up the Sto:lo Nation here locally in the Sumas Prairie (Abbotsford). I am proud to be dedicated to improving maternal and newborn care/support within my communities and beyond. I am a mother of 2 beautiful children. A wife to my amazing and supportive husband. A sister, daughter, godmother, and friend. I enjoy learning, growing and staying connected to what matters most. My spirituality is very important to me and helps guide my values, mindset, and daily life. I am a strong believer in "humour is one of life's best tools" In my spare time, I enjoy reading, weightlifting, hiking, traveling, spending time outdoors, laughing with friends and family, and a good caramel latte ♡ I look forward to meeting you!

Working with Mak has honestly been one of the best decisions we’ve made during this pregnancy. From the very first consultation, she was so kind, genuine, and informative. She came to my home, sat down with me, walked me through what her role as a doula would look like, answered all my questions, and instantly made me feel comfortable. I never felt pressured or “sold to” at all. If anything, she gave me the information and confidence I needed to make the best decision for myself. What stood out to me most was how empowering she was. She reminded me that I was fully capable of having a beautiful birth experience with or without a doula, which I really respected. In the end, I chose to move forward with her because I could tell her focus was truly on supporting both me and my partner throughout the experience. She also checks in often just to see how I’m doing and how pregnancy is going, and she always congratulates me with each passing week. It may seem small, but it’s been so encouraging and reassuring during this season, especially after 4 previous miscarriages. Our first official appointment together was amazing too. My partner was there and had such a great experience with her as well. She’s very hands-on in such a comforting and supportive way. She guided us through different exercises and learning activities without it ever feeling overwhelming. She brought dolls to teach diaper changing, diapers, a medicine ball, handouts for birth prep, interactive card games around birth preferences and important conversations, and so many other thoughtful tools. You can tell she really knows her stuff and genuinely cares about the families she works with. The heart she brings into her work is really special and has made this experience even more magical than it already always was!

Joann Christensen

Hi there, my name is Joann. I am deeply passionate about birth work and understand that each pregnancy and birth experience is unique. My goal is to provide evidence-informed care that empowers families to make the choices that feel right for them. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to support families in the language they feel most comfortable with. When I’m not supporting families, I’m busy with my three children and two Frenchton pups. I love connecting with people, sharing knowledge, and helping parents feel confident and supported during this transformative time.

Joann was such an incredible support to us throughout pregnancy, labour, and postpartum. Our baby is 6 months old now and when I think of his birth, I remember how amazing it was to have Joann there. I had a planned c-section after a very traumatic delivery with my first, so I knew I wanted a doula by my side, but also to support hubby in case he needed it. Throughout pregnancy, Joann was a cheerleader, always there to talk. When our little guy decided he couldn’t wait until his planned c-section date, Joann pivoted and met us as at the hospital as soon as we needed her. She came with her bag of tricks (lol) to help me through labour (a labour I wasn’t anticipating because of the scheduled c-section), which progressed so quickly, and she was so great at ensuring both myself and hubby were supported where and when we needed. She took beautiful pics too and stayed with us until we were settled in our room. The overnight visits were a game changer, too! We love and appreciate Joann, and couldn’t imagine what the experience would have been like without her! I’ve given birth without a doula, and with a doula - having Joann there was the experience any mama deserves when having a baby <3

Hey my name is Santaya, I am a Birth doula.I work as a pregnancy coach while also being a personal trainer for delivery. I work with families to help them achieve their goals for birth. This means i meet with patients (and families) twice during pregnancy to go over needs and goals for clients birth plans. During my clients pregnancy i visit them every trimester to do a check up. In these visits i go over what to expect within that trimester and answer any of the patients questions. I also track the pregnancy in a book that i give to the patient after delivery. I offer business hours on call support to my clients. This means i will be available from 9 am-5pm for physical support, emotional support and informational support via text or call. I help assist/coach my clients with delivery at the hospital however long that may be.I don't have to do shift change. I am present during labor till a few hours after.I help support clients that decide on natural birth, epidural or C section. Postpartum clients usually feel they no longer need men after a couple hours. Most times this is natural for the family unit to adjust and adapt to normal everyday life. However, I also offer packages for postpartum newborn aftercare where I can assist with breastfeeding and overnight care of the newborn. My passion in life is the celebration of mothers. Working with women and helping women build their families THIER way. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you feel you are in need of a doula please reach out. I offer 1hr consultations in person for $25 dollars.Or free 15 minute consultation over the phone. You can contact me via email @ taya.prodoula@gmail.com. I’m a caring, calm, and practical family support provider with a diverse professional background in healthcare, childcare, aquatics, first aid, and community work. I spent 12 years working in healthcare with at-risk youth and older adults, and I’m currently completing my Full Spectrum Doula training through Doula School Canada, including postpartum care. I bring that combination of healthcare experience, safety knowledge, and hands-on family support into the way I care for both parents and children. My approach is very individual. I don’t believe there is one “right” way to parent, recover, feed a baby, build a routine, or support a child. I believe in meeting families where they are, listening before assuming, and helping people feel more confident in their own abilities rather than stepping in and trying to take over or “fix” things. Sometimes support means practical help, sometimes it means information or reassurance, and sometimes it means recognizing that someone is exhausted and needs a meal, a shower, a few uninterrupted hours of sleep, or simply another capable adult in the room. With children, I’m calm, creative, and very hands-on. I encourage age-appropriate independence, I’m patient about mistakes, happy to answer approximately nine million questions, and generally not bothered by a little mud, paint, flour, or chaos along the way. I also have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children and youth and take an individualized, trauma-informed approach to communication, routines, sensory needs, and emotional regulation. Ultimately, I want the families I support to feel safe, respected, listened to, and more confident — not judged or managed. I bring a lot of professional knowledge into a home, but I never forget that it is your family, your values, and your life. My role is to support you in it.

I have lived in the West Shore area of Victoria, BC (specifically Metchosin) for my entire life. My whole family is here and I love that I can spend so much time with them. I am extremely family-oriented and spend the majority of my free time with them. I live with my partner and our two young children in a beautiful home only a few minutes away from Victoria General Hospital (convenient!). I consider myself to be an introvert and love all things quiet! Reading, writing, painting, watching movies or my favourite binge-able TV shows (talk to me about 'New Girl' and you'll have a friend for life! #Nick&JessForever). Also a big-time Disney adult (no shame). I love all things Disney, especially DISNEYLAND. I can (and will) go on about it for hours. Don't get me started if you want me to stop at some point. I have always (literally always. Since I was a young child.) been fascinated by pregnancy and the birth experience. While other students dreaded the infamous "sex talk", I counted down the days. While other students were mortified during family planning class to watch a woman give birth, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. How incredible. How miraculous. Still, I never gave much thought to how I could work it into my own life, apart from "I really want to be a mom some day. I can't wait to experience this for myself.". I graduated from Belmont Senior Secondary in 2013 and have done a variety of jobs since then. Retail, fast food, grocery stores, even a call centre (for a week- that was not for me). In 2016, I started the Community, Family, and Child Studies program at Camosun College and discovered my love for helping people. The field I was happiest in was in childcare. I obtained my ECEA in 2018 and have worked in various daycares, as a private in-home nanny, and at before and after school programs ever since. In 2023, I obtained my ECE certificate from Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute and went on to be the room lead at a 3-5 preschool, and then onto becoming a part of the management team at a brand new trauma-informed Indigenous childcare centre. I was part of the grand opening there and was so fortunate to receive some incredible learning about various Indigenous cultures, languages, history, etc. as well as trauma-informed training. However, since becoming a mom, I have realized just how challenging a job in childcare is when you have young kids at home. It's A LOT. I decided I needed a change in careers and I thought, how cool would it be if I could turn my passion, values, and interests into a career? After I accompanied one of my dear friends during the birth of her first child, I knew exactly what that career should be. That experience was so eye-opening in so many ways. First of all- what a beautiful and miraculous moment! I could watch a mother meet her new baby for the first time a million times and never get tired of it. Second, I saw first-hand what was missing in the hospital during her experience- and that was personalized and compassionate care, unwavering emotional support, and someone to make sure she was fully aware of what was happening to her during those scary moments. After that, I immediately started looking into Doula courses and fell in love with it. This is what I was meant to do. This is my calling. The ability to provide support and care to mothers, fathers, parents, and families in these life-changing moments is an honour that is not lost on me. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to do what I love and to love what I do. Thank you so much for allowing me into your homes, your lives, and your sacred space. And for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me. I can't wait to get to know you too!

I have been supporting pregnant people for 18 years. I began my journey shortly after my own firstborn came peacefully into this world and the passion was ignited! I studied to be a midwife (CPM) with a number of excellent mentors and qualified in 2011. I have worked in both home and hospital settings as a doula and an excited to now be supporting this community of Clallam County. I am currently only working as a doula (non-clinical support).

Amanda is nothing short of amazing. She served as my doula for our third child, born in 2015 in Kenya. Giving birth seemed daunting at first, but Amanda's confidence, skill, and calm demeanor made everything easier. From the moment that I found out that I was pregnant, she was a source of advice and a trusted confidant, answering my questions and addressing any concerns that I had. When it came time for the birth, our little one was very reluctant to come into this world, but Amanda made the whole experience more positive. She advocated for us with hospital staff and doctors, allowing me to focus on my body and child. Of course, she was also by my side throughout the experience, offering encouragement and even some laughs. After the birth, Amanda continued her high level of care with post-partum wellness checks for both me and baby. We were very grateful to have her with us during this journey. Her dedication to me and our family is still something that I look back on with great fondness.

Laurie Klager

Laurie Klager

Hi, I’m Laurie I’m so excited to be providing birth and postpartum care. I believe that good support early on means better outcomes for everyone in the family. Birth is a sacred, transformative time in your life—one that deserves to be protected, supported, and celebrated. As a mother to four kids (now aged 12 to 22!), I know firsthand how deeply impactful the transition into parenthood is, and how much the right support matters. I completed my professional training through the Douglas College Doula Training Program in June 2026 and am certified to support all types of birth, postpartum journeys, and pregnancy loss. My goal is to provide a calm, steady, trauma informed and completely non-judgmental presence for your entire family as you navigate these major life changes. Before answering this calling, I spent years caring for people in different ways. I worked as a hairstylist from home while my children were small, and later ran a cozy home bakery for eight years. Today, I weave all of those unique caregiving skills into my doula work—whether that means braiding your hair during labor, baking a nourishing treat for your kitchen counter, or simply holding space so you feel taken care of. When I’m not supporting growing families, you can find me walking the local trails, tending to the plants in my yard, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying time with my family. And yes, if you caught the nod in my business name—I am a massive, long-time fan of ‘Call the Midwife’.
