I loved my experience with Alisha. From the start to the ending. Talking to her about the pregnancy use to bring me comfort. She gave me plenty of resources while pregnant and after I gave birth. During birth she was extra supportive. Even tho my birth plan did not go as plan she stuck by myself my whole c section and held my hand. 23 hours in labor she kept me calm bringing games and everything to keep my mind calm. I just overall appreciate her and if I ever had another baby I would want her as my doula again. 5 stars isn’t enough to rate her. She more like a million stars. Thank you so much for the experience and the comfort you bought through out the experience. And I appreciate you.

Jenny Schuster Popular: among the most-viewed doulas in Maryland, last 60 days

I’m a birth and postpartum doula serving families throughout the Baltimore, DC, Southern Pennsylvania, and Southern Maryland areas. My work is rooted in one core belief: when a mother is deeply supported, nurtured, and cared for, she is better able to care for her baby and step into motherhood with confidence and grace. I specialize in supporting mothers through some of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life — including high-risk pregnancies, birth trauma, postpartum mood disorders, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), chronic illness, pregnancy after loss, and complex postpartum recovery. My background in psychiatric rehabilitation counseling allows me to bring a unique understanding of emotional health, nervous system support, and compassionate care into the birth world. My approach is deeply intuitive, trauma-informed, and mother-centered. I believe birth is not just a medical event — it is a life-changing human experience that deserves respect, advocacy, emotional safety, and individualized support. Whether I’m supporting a laboring mother through transition, helping a postpartum mother heal after a cesarean, assisting with feeding challenges, or simply making sure a family feels seen and cared for, my goal is always the same: to “mother the mother.” I offer both birth and postpartum doula services, including overnight and daytime support, prenatal education, emotional support, recovery guidance, feeding support, and practical care for growing families. I am especially passionate about helping women trust themselves again after difficult experiences and creating spaces where mothers feel safe, empowered, and genuinely held. Beyond my work with clients, I’m passionate about maternal mental health advocacy, improving the birth experience for women, and creating honest conversations around motherhood, healing, and the realities of postpartum life. My work combines evidence-based education with warmth, intuition, humor, and deep compassion. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that mothers deserve quality care. Hi, I’m Siedah Israel, a Certified Labor Doula, Holistic Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Herbalist based in Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. I’m a wife of 15 years and a homeschooling mother of five. My wellness and birth advocacy journey began with earning a certificate in Massage Therapy from Eastern Virginia Career College in 2018. I later completed my Doula Certification through Germanna Community College in 2024 and graduated with honors in Herbal Studies from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2025. I am currently in Phase I of the PEP process as I work toward becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I have extensive experience supporting families through hospital births, birth center births, and home births. Personally, I have experienced three hospital births and two home births, which deeply informs the care, perspective, and support I offer to the families I serve. When I’m not supporting families, I enjoy homeschooling, spending time outdoors with my children, writing poetry, working on my werewolf novel, and handcrafting natural hair and skincare products. It is a true honor to walk alongside families with compassion, cultural awareness, and grounded support during such a sacred season of life.

Siedah was an amazing doula, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to support me during my labor and delivery! From the very beginning, she was patient, attentive, and always made sure to ask what I needed. She took the time to bring multiple copies of my birth plan and consistently reminded me of my preferences so I could feel confident and supported throughout the entire process. What stood out to me the most was her dedication. She met me at the hospital despite it being about two hours away from her, which truly showed how committed she was to being there for me. She was extremely knowledgeable, reassuring, and supportive, and she advocated for me when I needed it most. Having someone who genuinely listened to me, respected my wishes, and helped me feel heard made such a difference in my birth experience. Siedah made my labor and delivery experience so much better, and I am incredibly grateful to have had her by my side during such an important moment in my life. I would absolutely recommend her to any expecting mother looking for a doula who is compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable, and truly dedicated to her clients. If I ever get pregnant again I’d love to have her by my side again. Thank you, Siedah, for helping make my birth experience a positive and memorable one!

Morgan Bradbury

Hi, I’m Morgan, a birth doula with a deep passion for supporting women through the sacred and powerful journey of pregnancy and birth. Outside of birth work, you can often find me hiking, camping, traveling, walking my two corgis, reading, spending time with my husband and son, or serving my church and local community. My heart for women’s health began during my very first OB/GYN appointment as a teenager, when I had to navigate a complicated diagnosis and a series of confusing and often scary interactions with specialists. Years later, after facing complications during the birth of my son, my passion for informed care and patient advocacy only grew stronger. That experience not only taught me the importance of understanding my health and my options, but it also deepened my trust in the Lord. Through it all, my faith grew as I leaned into His strength during a season full of unknowns. Since then, I’ve become deeply committed to helping women feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their reproductive journeys. My journey led me to work on a research team developing an intrauterine balloon stent to help treat Asherman’s Syndrome—a role that involved shadowing OB/GYNs and midwives and sparked a deeper appreciation for the science behind pregnancy and birth. I truly believe that birth is not only fascinating from a medical standpoint, but also incredibly beautiful and sacred. Today, I feel called to walk alongside women in their most vulnerable and transformative moments—offering education, advocacy, and unwavering support as they step into motherhood.

As a Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Responsive Doula and Childbirth Educator, I provide compassionate, whole-person support to individuals and families throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I recognize that personal history and previous healthcare experiences can influence how someone feels about pregnancy, birth or receiving care. With that understanding, I offer education, steady presence, practical guidance and encouragement of informed self-advocacy while respecting each client’s dignity and honoring their individual needs and values. I approach each relationship with respect for the client’s lived experience and autonomy. My care is guided by trust, collaboration, cultural humility and an understanding of how trauma can affect the body and mind. From the first prenatal visit through postpartum recovery, I help clients recognize situations that may cause distress, notice their body’s responses, prepare questions and communicate their preferences. Together, we develop personalized doula support plans for pregnancy, birth and postpartum that emphasize consent and comfort while reflecting the client’s informed decisions. My professional practice is grounded in ongoing learning and thoughtful reflection. I pursue advanced training in maternal care, trauma-responsive support, reproductive justice and perinatal mental health so my work remains informed by current evidence and ethical practice. Through this work, I aim to break cycles of intergenerational trauma and promote emotional resilience for every family I serve.

I'm still on cloud nine and appreciating all that Ms. Kristan has done for my wife and I. Never would I have imagined that we would find what she offers in value and service to support us in our Christian faith. She has changed our lives as new parents and how I see myself supporting my wife and newborn son. She was so gentle and comforting with my wife. She is the most patient woman I have ever met besides my wife and my wife is very patient. Everything we spoke of to advocate for, she gently reminded me of when we were preparing to give birth. I was able to help my wife in ways that I wished I could. My wife had the birth that she wanted and I believe that if we didn't have Ms. Kristan's support and wisdom we may not have been blessed to experience that. New dads need understanding and to learn how to support mom and she provided us with plenty of it.

I support parents who want a deeply intentional, holistic postpartum experience that prioritizes healing, nourishment, and emotional support, not just survival. My work centers on helping you feel prepared, rested, and cared for as you recover from birth and bond with your baby. I provide personalized postpartum planning, guidance on physical recovery, newborn care support, and practical help establishing boundaries, rhythms, and sustainable systems at home. Families who work with me value a grounded, intuitive approach to parenthood and want support that honors both the science of postpartum care and the wisdom of the body. What sets my work apart is my holistic training and focus on whole-person healing. I integrate Ayurvedic postpartum principles, offering guidance on warming foods, nourishment for breastfeeding, and practices that support hormonal balance, energy, and recovery. I help parents understand how to nourish their bodies for milk production, rebuild strength after birth, and create a home environment that promotes rest and regulation for both parent and baby. My approach blends trauma-informed emotional support, attachment-focused care, and community-centered values so you feel confident, deeply supported, and truly held during this transformative season.

Siena was a wonderful doula - I highly recommend her! For my second baby, I was trying for a VBAC. My baby was a few days late and I was very worried about having to be induced. Siena gave me so many helpful tips to try to bring on labor and I tried ALL of them. All of that prep work definitely contributed to going into labor, the short labor that I had (less than 3 hours from first contraction to delivery!) and my successful VBAC without an epidural. I had such a radically different experience this birth compared to with my first kid (did not have a doula that time around). And my entire postpartum experience was much improved because the labor was so much different/better. I am very appreciative of Siena's guidance and support throughout the latter weeks of my pregnancy. All of her work with me and my husband definitely helped create that positive experience and I will be forever grateful! Siena has a very calming presence, and I always felt cared-for and prepared after talking to her. She also encouraged me to think about things that I wouldn't have thought of on my own - i.e. how to prepare for the postpartum period. Because my labor was so short, Siena arrived very soon after the baby was born and she helped calm me down and deal with the crazy shakes and nausea that I had, as well as breastfeeding. She immediately assessed the situation and was able to provide things that were really comforting to me, without me even asking - she massaged my feet and put some peppermint oil by my head. And in those quiet moments following delivery, those careful, considerate details will forever be ingrained in my memory of my baby's first minutes in the world!

Dr. Burton has truly been a life saver for me and my family. After two years of trying to convince myself to seek the right kind of care, I finally found her, and I’m so grateful I did. She cared not only for me, but also for my husband and our two children when she was practicing in Indiana. She was my doula for both my very first birth and my last birth, and I couldn’t have imagined having anyone else by my side. Her presence, guidance, and support made all the difference for me and my family during those sacred milestones. Although I was saddened to hear that she was closing her Indiana location and relocating to the DMV area, I completely understand her decision as she continues advancing her education and completing her clinical preceptorship. While she now focuses specifically on Women’s Health and Maternity, I’m happy to know that I can still continue with her as a Telehealth patient. Meeting Dr. Burton in Indiana was a blessing for our household. Her compassion, knowledge, and dedication to holistic care have made a lasting impact on our health and well being. Even though her practice has shifted, I remain grateful that she was part of our journey and look forward to continuing my care with her in this next chapter.

Alyssa is a real rockstar!! 🫶🏻 After having a much harder birth and breastfeeding journey the first time, I was honestly so afraid I was going to go through all of that again. Instead, this experience was completely different. She gave me the confidence, education, and support I needed, and it not only helped me heal physically and emotionally, but it also made my breastfeeding journey so much smoother! 🤍 Because of her, I now feel healthy, confident, and ready to get back to doing what I love. I’ll always be so grateful for everything she's done for our family. She has such an incredible gift and so many mamas are blessed because of her! 😌👏💛
