I got connected with Kay through a friend of mine that is also a doula. I had to go back to work a lot earlier since I am a single mother so needed nanny services. Kay was so amazing and my baby loved (still does lol) her. She also would straighten up my place and made sure things were organized when I got home from work. Kay is definitely heaven sent and I thank her for such a good experience with helping me through this journey of motherhood.

Soulex the Doula has been incredible in mine and my child’s life. I wanted to leave a shining review but struggled even capturing the positive impact of my time with Soulex the Doula, in words. I really hope I do justice to what this time meant to me. Alexus post-partum doula support was life altering in the most vulnerable time I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had 2 children and only worked with Lex with my first born. Let me just say, her energy was deeply missed the second time around. I live in a different state now but at the time, Lex did SO MUCH. She helped with nursing, even in the middle of the night for my exclusively breast fed baby, she would stay over to make sure I had the most restful night I could. The baby would wake, and Lex would wake pick her up and latch her to my nipple while I rest, leaving me virtually undisturbed. Lex changed night diapers, and would rock my daughter back to sleep while I slept. During the day visits, Lex would take care of baby while I got time for ME. I could shower, get ready, and feel beautiful in such a strange time. Lex gave me support with getting back in connection with my body through movement with dance and stretching practices. I would have NEVER known this was meaningful work, otherwise. Lex also gave a lot of spiritual guidance and support as a medium while I was personally going through the shifts from new motherhood. She would clean my home, help me organize, or rearrange on a whim. It was nothing short of magical, and genuinely felt like I had a little fairy god mother around the house doing things without me even having to think about it - let alone lift a finger. The bond I watched her grow with my daughter at 4 months old was incredibly special. And now, as a 7 year old, they still stay in touch. We love you, Lex and you really feel like a part of the family for life. Thank you for you’re love, your care, your intention, your intuition, and your raw passion for what you do. I had my first child with Brandi as my doula and I’m so glad I did. Brandi helped me navigate the hospital and birthing experience in a way that was supportive and unobtrusive. She knew the birth plan that we had designed prior together and helped me create as close to that as possible as things progressed. When I was uncomfortable she had many tools to assist from the big stuff ( walking the halls and pressure release and e-stim during contractions), to the little stuff (chapstick and eye mask!). I cannot thank her enough for the incredible support she provided during my birth at Northside Hospital! Since I hired her quite late in my pregnancy around 37 or 38 weeks, we only had time for one long virtual prenatal visit, but she completely stepped up. Within just a few days, she supplied me with so many helpful handouts and information, including great resources for postpartum planning. I was really struggling to afford a doula since it isn't covered by my insurance, and the fact that she provided her care for free was a massive blessing.She was always personally available whenever I needed her by text or call. She answered all of my questions and was completely honest if there was something she didn't know, which I really appreciated. What I loved most was how comfortable I felt with her. We are close in age and knew each other previously, so there was absolutely zero judgment. She phrased medical things in a way that was so easy to understand.She was also incredibly thoughtful and culturally responsive; when I explained that I have trauma from past OBGYN experiences and felt uncomfortable with certain language, she immediately adjusted her wording to make me feel safe. We even hit a few hiccups with the medical staff during my time at the hospital, and she was right there by my side helping me through every single one of them. She is building a wonderful practice, and her dedication and honesty make her an absolutely great birthworker. She was perfect for me!
