The cost of a midwife in Halton Hills, ON can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

In Halton Hills, Ontario, the cost of midwifery care is fully covered for residents through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Midwives are regulated healthcare professionals in Ontario, and their services, including prenatal care, support during labor and delivery, and postpartum care, are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to clients with OHIP coverage. If you do not have OHIP, you may need to check with individual midwifery practices about costs and alternatives.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Halton Hills, ON, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. I’m Desiree, a mom of five, an educator, and a certified birth and postpartum doula. I’ve had five unmedicated births (one of those births happened at home…on purpose). These personal experiences helped me find my way to birth support and have shaped the way I walk alongside families today. I know birth and early parenthood can feel both beautiful and overwhelming, and my goal is to help parents feel prepared, supported, and truly seen through it all. My philosophy is simple: Your Journey, Your Desired Way! Your choices matter! I provide evidence-based education, practical tools, and heartfelt support so you can feel confident, cared for, and truly seen.

If you’re asking me, DESIREE IS HIGH RECOMMENDED. She blended seamlessly with my midwife team and had such a natural ability to read the room. She knew exactly when to step in and offer support, what I needed in the moment, and when to give space. Her presence required no direction—she intuitively flowed with the process. Even in the challenging moments, she carried a calm and grounding presence, and in the lighter moments, she filled the room with joy and laughter. Her support created such a safe and uplifting atmosphere for my delivery. She was such a meaningful part of my redemptive birthing experience, and I am deeply grateful for her role in making it so calm, joyful, and empowering.

Couldn’t be more grateful for the support from Elizabeth & Amy! I hired them as my doula team and it was one of the best decisions I made for my pregnancy and birth experience. We had 2 prenatal visits and 1 postpartum visit, and they answered all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. As a first-time mom who had an OB, I felt strongly pulled to hire them for extra support - and I’m so thankful I followed that instinct. Thanks to Elizabeth, I had an unmedicated birth. She believed in me when I needed it most and guided me through every contraction with so much calm and confidence. I delivered a healthy baby girl (6 lbs 9 oz), and I will always be grateful for the role she played in one of the most important days of my life. They offer 24/7 WhatsApp support - even months after birth - which made my partner and I feel supported and never alone during early parenthood. They are incredibly knowledgeable, warm, relatable, and genuinely wonderful people. Amy is also super tech-savvy, so everything felt organized and seamless from start to finish. I truly felt cared for as a new mom. I would highly, highly recommend them. The whole experience was amazing!

Lauren Redvers

Packages from $1,500 · $35/hr

Hello! My name is Lauren, the hands on and heart led birth and postpartum doula in Durham Region. I'm also a big homebody who loves to read, craft my own tea blends, make natural skincare products and candles, and spend time in nature as much as possible. Becoming a doula felt like stepping into a path that was already laid out for me. I have always felt a fierce protection for other women, and connected easily and deeply with the women in my life. Combined with my interest in herbal healing and natural remedies, my previous work with and love for children and babies, my need to feed everyone I love home cooked, nourishing meals, and my interest in birth & the medical system, I realized that I already was a doula, I just needed to take the leap onto the path.   Early in 2025, I completed a 10 day doula training retreat in Costa Rica, which was a beautiful way to begin my new career. In the past couple of years I have been amazed by the women I work with, the births I have experienced by their sides, and the cocoon of postpartum. I love this work! I believe that birth and postpartum are some of the most transformational and impactful moments of a woman’s life, and they deserve to be positive experiences. Feeling cared for, understood, nourished, and supported are essential in the journey from Maiden, to Mother (and from mother of one, to two, to three…).  If you’re looking for a doula you want to feel cared for by, someone you feel comfortable texting “is this my mucous plug?,” and someone who knows how important the little details are and takes care of them so you don’t have to (like LED candles at your birth and a warm cup of tea postpartum), then hello! Now, Id love to get to know you.

As a first time mom, I had a huge fear of normal delivery. I honestly believed I would never be able to handle labour pain and always thought I’d go for a C-section just to avoid it. But when my OB explained the disadvantages of a c-section, I slowly prepared myself for a normal delivery- though deep down, that fear was still in the corner of my heart. That’s when I decided to reach out for doula support. I knew doulas are there to emotionally support us and stay by our side through that challenging yet beautiful moment. Another big reason was that my husband and I are the only two people here in Canada. We moved here around 2022 and don’t have any immediate family around. As first time parents, both being the only children in our families, we had zero experience with newborns. It was overwhelming at times, and we truly felt lost and alone. That’s why choosing doula support was one of the most incredible decisions I’ve made- and selecting Lauren was truly the best thing that happened to us From the beginning, Lauren was so professional, calm, and caring. She provided me with a lot of labour and postpartum knowledge, did her own research, and shared so many helpful exercise materials to prepare me for my delivery. Whenever I had questions, she responded promptly and explained everything clearly. On my labour day, when I called her, she arrived at the hospital within an hour- whichw as simply amazing. She came fully prepared with massage oil, a pain relief comb, snacks, calming music, soft lights, and so many thoughtful items to make the experience more comfortable. Her presence game me so much confidence to face labour. She even worked closely with my husband, guiding and coordinating everything during those long hours. Lauren went above and beyond- she took notes on every single detail of my labour and later created a beautiful report for me to keep. She also supported me in making important decisions throughout the process with such care and understanding. I am so grateful that I chose Lauren as my doula. Her guidance, encouragement, and knowledge made a world of difference during one of the most important moments of my life. She’s friendly, compassionate, and genuinely passionate about what she does. I would highly recommend Lauren to any expecting mom looking for emotional support, confidence, and care throughout pregnancy, labour, and beyond.

Hello! Thank you for being here! My name is Kristin, I’ve been on a mission to encourage women to take back birth and own their unique stories through yoga, breath, reiki, Ayurveda healing and traditional remedies. *Please note I only companion women in births at home outside the system*

Dearest Kristin, I am writing you to thank you for the gift you have given my family, myself specifically. It was a no brainer investing in a doula for this second pregnancy, and everyone was right - we had no regrets picking you! A clear comfortable contract didn’t prepare me for the support you provided. Though we hired you for post-partum care, you were a support during my very hard pregnancy. You provided me validation, connection, spiritual healing, not to mention the massages my body so desperately needed! Deciding whether to be induced was a huge mountain for us. I was high risk and my body had enough. You helped me understand my decision with love and compassion. You were so flexible with scheduling to respond to my extended hospital stay. You supported me through the phone and I felt safe leaving the hospital to come home to your care. A day with you nourished our family physically and spiritually. We were so shattered from the trauma of the birth and extended stay in the hospital. You supported our sleep, eating, and encouraged ways for us to connect while we were transitioning to a bigger family. Cooking for us, cleaning for us, yoga with my toddler while my husband and I could regroup. Having you for a few overnights helped so much with my healing and recovery. I am so grateful for investing in my recovery and choosing you. Anna

Mimi made THE difference between a potentially distressing and re-traumatizing birth experience, and a powerful memory I can look back on with pride and joy for the rest of my life. I personally had planned for a home birth but ended up needing to be in the hospital due to PROM. Mimi knew and cared about my birth plan and helped me achieve a birth that still felt as close as possible to the type of birth I was hoping to have. She also really honed in on the type of emotional and physical support that I needed in a very personalized way. My midwives were very impressed with her knowledge and presence, and literally told me to "recommend her to everyone" so that's what I am doing. Thank you Mimi!
