I am a birth and postpartum doula serving all types of families and birthing people in the Charlotte area. A deeply held belief in intersectionality guided my path to this line of service. As a Black, queer, childless woman, I want to give others the encouragement to advocate for themselves and have the birthing and postpartum experience they dream of. Birth equity is only achievable when the entire person is acknowledged, including their experiences within the racial and social areas of healthcare. I’m currently a ProDoula Certified Labor Doula (CD-L) + A Dona International Certified Doula (CD). I am also a Certified Fertility Doula (CFD), Reproductive Health Specialist (RHS), Postpartum Doula (PPD), Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), and Infant Feeding Specialist (IFS). I know it’s a mouthful but it was all totally worth it. ​ I support unmedicated and medicated births and believe they are both outstandingly beautiful. My journey to birth work began after the birth of my son and subsequent pregnancy losses. Through these experiences I was able to see the importance and need of birth workers to support families. Pregnancy, child birth and pregnancy loss are sacred times and can also be scary. It is my goal to help ease the fear and focus more the on the sacredness of this time. All women deserve support regardless of their journey; whether that is pregnancy, miscarriage, still birth, abortion, birth and postpartum.
