HI I’m Vanessa, Bronx-born, now based in WA, and I’m passionate about supporting, educating, and empowering families through one of the most important moments of their lives: birth. As an Afro-Latina birth doula and spiritual healer, I believe birth deserves to be treated with care, respect, advocacy, and real support; not fear or pressure. I completed my Birth Doula Workshop Training through the Simkin Center at Bastyr University in July 2023, where I gained the hands-on training and knowledge to support families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum care. My approach is equal parts nurturing and no-nonsense. I’m here to make sure you feel informed, supported, and heard every step of the way. Whether that means helping you navigate the hospital system, offering emotional support during labor, providing comfort measures, or simply reminding you that your voice matters. I’m in your corner. Always. I believe birth is sacred, powerful, and deeply personal. Every parent deserves to feel safe, respected, and empowered while bringing life into this world. My role is to hold space for you, advocate for you when needed, and help you move through this experience with confidence, strength, and peace of mind. At the end of the day, I bring both heart and real-life energy into this work. I’m not just here to “look supportive” in the background. I’m here to support you for real. We’re going to get through this together.

I’m a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula who blends city grit with grounded, nature-rooted care. My journey began by supporting friends through birth and postpartum while navigating the unpredictable life of a military family. A path that taught me flexibility, compassion, and a deep respect for the strength of parents. Before becoming a doula, I worked as a corrections officer, where I learned to stay calm under pressure and advocate fiercely for others. Today, I bring that same steady confidence to the families I serve through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. Once a city girl and now deeply connected to nature, I offer a balance of strength and softness in my work as a birth and postpartum doula, infant sleep consultant, and placenta encapsulation specialist. I also provide traditional belly binding support to promote healing, grounding, and body awareness during the postpartum transition. As a mom to two spirited boys and two lovable fur babies, I know firsthand how messy, magical, and transformative those early days can be. My goal is to walk beside you with knowledge, warmth, and zero judgment. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum recovery, supporting your body’s healing journey, or finding rhythm and rest with your newborn. I’m honored to support families through every layer of this season- body, mind, and heart.

I can't say enough good things about Lindzee! I hired her as a postpartum doula after I had a bad experience with my birth doula who never even followed up for my postpartum care. Lindzee was like a little fairy doula. Every time I turned around my water cup was refilled or something was done I didn't even think to ask her to do. It was amazing. She did day and night shifts in the first month. She was extremely helpful. I even used her again for one night when my daughter was 5 months old and went through a sleep regression. It was so refreshing and helpful compared to my bad doula experience. I highly recommend her!

I honestly don't know if words can fully capture what an incredible person Hailey is. She is, without question, one of the kindest, most compassionate, and most genuinely loving people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. As my toddler's teacher, Hailey has been nothing short of extraordinary. She has a beautiful gift for making children feel safe, cherished, and important. My child absolutely adores her, and as a parent, there is no greater comfort than knowing your little one is being cared for by someone who loves and nurtures them so wholeheartedly. But what makes Hailey truly special is that her care extends far beyond the children in her classroom. She has been an incredible source of support to me as a toddler mom. She has celebrated milestones with us, listened without judgment, reassured me during hard moments, and always greeted us with warmth, kindness, and genuine care. She somehow has a way of making you feel like you're not just another parent dropping off your child—she makes you feel seen, supported, and deeply cared for. Trust is everything when it comes to my child, and I trust Hailey completely. I would trust her with my baby without hesitation because I know her heart. She cares deeply, loves fiercely, and shows up for people in the most thoughtful and compassionate ways. She is the kind of person who makes everyone around her feel a little more at ease and a little more loved. I cannot imagine anyone more perfectly suited to becoming a doula. Bringing a new baby into the world is one of the most vulnerable and meaningful experiences a family can have, and every family deserves someone like Hailey by their side. She has the gentleness, empathy, patience, and calming presence that cannot be taught. She is the person you want holding your hand, encouraging you, and reminding you that you are capable and cared for. Hailey is simply one of those rare people who make the world a better, softer, and kinder place just by being in it. Any family lucky enough to have her as their doula will be receiving so much more than support during birth and postpartum—they will be receiving the love, care, and presence of an absolutely extraordinary human being. Our family has been profoundly touched by her kindness, and we will always be grateful for the love she has given both our child and us.

I am a Certified Lactation Counselor and Birth/Postpartum Doula, and was called to this work because of my own experiences. I had a myriad of pregnancy issues, including loss, high risk medical complications, postpartum mood disorder, PTSD, and breastfeeding challenges. Like many families, we could not find the right resources, despite looking and asking for help. I don't want another person to fall through the cracks like I did. That was back in 2007/2008, and while more support systems are in place, we are still clearly lacking. We all benefit from having compassionate, non-judgmental help in the process of starting or adding to our families, and it brings me immense satisfaction to be that person for others. Show Less A scenic landscape showing mountains, a lake, and trees under a clear blue sky. My Philosophy I believe that every person has the right to a safe, respectful, and empowering experience when starting or adding to their family-whether through adoption, fertility treatments, or birth. This should be provided no matter their race, religion, beliefs, economic status, disability status, sexual or gender identity. I am committed to provi Show More My Services I offer a range of services to support birthing individuals and families throughout the pregnancy and childbirth journey. These include prenatal support, labor and delivery support, postpartum care, bottle-feeding/formula guidance, pumping and lactation support.

My experience with Bridgette was fantastic. My main reason for using a doula was I wanted someone in the birth room to be a fierce advocate while I was medicated and in pain and unable to advocate for myself. She was that and so much more. I had to push for 4 hours to get my little one out after already being in labor for 18 hours. The doctor said I was close to needing the vacuum to get her out and I credit Bridgette's knowledge, encouragement of frequent position changes while pushing and encouragement to keep hydrated and nourished with clear liquids to why I was able to get my little one out without the vacuum. Another thing that was a great help was giving my overwhelmed partner guidance on the best ways of helping me and keeping him calm and involved in a stressful situation. In addition to that she got the BEST pictures of the delivery while respecting the fact I didn't want any from the angle you could see my more intimate areas. I'll cherish those pictures forever. My birth was a beautiful wonderful experience. I have to credit part of it to luck but the majority of it to Bridgette.

Hi! I’m Jaya Mallik (she/her), a birth and postpartum doula in Maple Valley, WA, where I live with my husband, Nathan, and our two daughters, Asha and Diya. My journey into doula work began with my own birth experiences. After an emergency first birth and postpartum depression, I found healing during my second birth with the support of a culturally aligned doula who empowered me and honored my values. Her guidance inspired me to provide the same compassionate care to others. As a Woman of Color and current DEI practitioner, I’m committed to addressing healthcare inequities and ensuring every birthing person feels empowered and supported through this transformative journey.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Jaya! She was a wonderful addition to our birth team and made both pregnancy and labor a comfortable and safe experience. Throughout pregnancy, Jaya was a great communicator. She was always willing to answer our questions and checked in on us as we got closer to the end of our pregnancy. When we met in person to discuss our vision for labor and delivery, she shared an immense amount of information with us and helped us craft a birth plan. She was respectful of all of our wishes and helped us to feel informed and prepared. We were unexpectedly induced before the end our pregnancy. When we found this out, Jaya immediately called us to talk things through. She was kind and gentle and made sure we had the information we needed. When she joined us in the hospital during labor, she brought with her a balance of both calmness and positivity. As labor progressed and we had to make decisions about care, she again made sure we had the right knowledge to make informed decisions. She supported both me and my partner as we navigated the challenges of labor, and helped to bring both joy and serenity into the room. Overall, Jaya was incredibly supportive, kind, and knowledgeable. She made us feel safe, listened to, and empowered. We would highly recommend her for birth doula services, and are very grateful for her support and wisdom.

Liza Hameza

15 years of experience

My name is Liza Hameza (Schaefer). I’m a mother of 4, doula, educator, and podcaster who’s spent 15 years studying birth in the fields. What began as a personal story has grown into a lifelong calling. Since then, I’ve supported over 490 births in different birthing settings, guided hundreds of parents through childbirth preparation and the first tender months with their newborns. Alongside modern doula practices, I weave in the wisdom of postpartum traditions I’ve learned in different countries - Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and Cyprus - rituals that honor a mother’s strength and nurture recovery. In addition to my one-on-one work with families, I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring doulas worldwide. I lead specialized trainings, and have been invited to speak at international conferences on birth and parenthood. I also created Oxytocin World, a podcast that brings together midwives, anthropologists, psychologists, researchers, and doulas to share knowledge about birth, parenting, and relationships. I believe birth is more than a medical event - it’s a profound initiation for families, one that deserves care, respect, and continuity. My role is to walk beside you in that journey: grounding, encouraging, and offering both practical tools and emotional support. Outside of doula work, I feel most alive when cooking, practicing yoga, running, hiking in the mountains, or just being with my family. These everyday joys keep me grounded and remind me what truly matters.

I believe birth is not just a medical event — it’s a deeply personal, transformative experience, and the way you are supported matters. As a birth doula, my role is to provide steady, evidence-based support while centering you: your preferences, your intuition, and your sense of safety. I support families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period with calm presence, clear information, and compassionate advocacy. Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or takes unexpected turns, you deserve to feel informed, respected, and supported every step of the way. I work with all birth settings and outcomes — hospital births, unmedicated or medicated labors, planned or unplanned cesareans — and I meet each family where they are, without judgment. My approach is grounded in current evidence, emotional attunement, and the understanding that there is no “right” way to give birth — only what is right for you. Clients often tell me they feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and better prepared after working together. I aim to be a steady presence you can lean on — someone who helps you understand your options, supports your partner, and creates space for you to stay connected to your body and your baby. If you’re looking for a doula who is calm, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in your experience — I would be honored to support you.

From the moment I decided to choose Olena, I have never regretted it. From the very beginning, Olena was incredibly attentive and supportive. Her two prenatal visits were incredibly helpful. She clearly explained what to expect during labor and helped me prepare for the upcoming challenges both mentally and physically. She demonstrated valuable pelvic floor exercises that gave me confidence and preparedness for my future labor. Throughout my entire labor, she was very responsive to my needs and ensured that my wishes and comfort were a priority. She worked closely and communicated effectively with the nurses and midwife, and her support was especially crucial when the question of a C-section arose. She confidently advocated for my preferences and helped my voice be heard. When the decision was finally made for a C-section, her support never wavered. Both my husband and I felt reassured by her steady presence in the operating room. One of the most meaningful moments for me came right after the birth of my son, when my husband needed to be with him and all the doctors were busy. I cannot forget the comfort of her hands on my face while I was getting stitches. It was exactly what I needed to feel safe and cared for. After the labor, she continued to provide me with comprehensive support. She taught me how to sit and breastfeed correctly, guided me through every step, and frequently checked in to make sure I was doing well. I truly valued her knowledge and genuine care, and she went above and beyond, sharing an incredibly helpful list of tips for newborn care, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding. Having Olena as our doula has been incredibly beneficial for both me and my husband. Her experience and unwavering support truly helped us through every step of this life-changing moment, and if my husband and I decide to have a second child, I know who I will choose as my doula.
