My Name is Tona, and I am passionate about the sacred rhythms of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have always been drawn to the path of supporting women and birth, and when the idea of a doula was introduced to me many years ago, I knew that it was my calling. There is nothing that lights me up more than being in the birth space with a woman and holding her through this beautiful, raw and powerful initiation. As your doula, I tend to you as a sister, a friend, a mother and a space holder. My mission is to hold you like the village would have held us all.

As a doula, my practice focuses on providing personalized support + information access to birthing people + their families throughout pregnancy, birth + the postpartum journey. My services are designed to complement + enhance the care provided by the birthing person's medical team. I use evidence-based strategies to help my clients prepare both physically + mentally for birth, while also fostering a sense of connection + community.

I am a South Minneapolis-based birth doula and massage therapist. I have been a bodyworker for eight years, and co-own Total Solace Massage in Uptown, Minneapolis. I have attended trainings by DONA (2018) and Community Aware Birthworker (2024). My approach to birth is open-minded. I believe my role is to help you have the right experience for you, to make sure you know what options you have, and then help you navigate whatever is in the cards. I have been working with children and their families since I was a teenager (more than 10 years now!) and am so passionate about families and making sure that every family has the best start imaginable. I believe that giving birth should be empowering and focus on the choices that you are able to make and on giving you the information that you need to make those choices. Hi, I'm Eleanor Trenary. I believe that all expectant parents deserve an empowered birthing experience. No matter how you give birth, you should feel like you understand your options and are respected, supported, and cared for throughout your birthing journey. I am a mom with a lifelong passion for reproductive rights and gender equity, and have enjoyed being an advocate in many different settings. As my friends started having kids, and I went through my own pregnancy and birthing journey, I realized the powerful role that doulas play and the benefit of having continuous support for birthing people and their partners. I started reading and learning more about birth, taking childbirth education classes, and eventually completed full Doula and Lactation training with Community Aware Birthworker. When I’m not doula-ing, you can find me hiking, drinking tea, knitting, and soaking up snuggles with my husband and son. My first career is in public policy and I currently work as an environmental lobbyist. I graduated from Macalester College and have a Masters in Public Affairs from Indiana University.

This is a quote that has stuck with me as I explore my career path. Becoming a doula is something I did not follow through with until the murder of George Floyd. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. I do not shy away from vulnerability, and I believe this allows me to have relationships with my clients built on trust.

Hello, my name is Amanda Jurrens, and I am deeply honored to walk alongside you on one of the most transformative days of your life, the day you welcome your child into the world. My journey into birth work began with nearly a decade of experience in the assisted reproductive technology industry, both professionally and personally as a three-time gestational carrier. Those experiences lit a fire in me that has only grown stronger with time. Over the years I have had the privilege of supporting many births, and each one has deepened my reverence for the incredible things the human body is capable of. I am, at heart, a total birth nerd, especially when it comes to the biomechanics of labor. I am endlessly fascinated by pelvic dynamics: how the pelvis moves, how a baby navigates through it, and how small positional shifts can open space and work with physiology rather than against it. This passion led me to complete training in the Body Ready Method, an evidence-based approach focused on preparing the body for physiologic birth. Understanding the interplay between posture, movement, and fetal positioning is not just an intellectual interest for me. It is something I bring directly to your labor support. I believe deeply in physiologic birth, in trusting the process, working with the body's wisdom, and creating the conditions for birth to unfold as naturally as possible. That said, I meet every family exactly where they are. My role is never to push an agenda but to make sure you feel informed, empowered, and genuinely supported in whatever birth looks like for you.
