I am in grad school working on my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. After studying Biology at Temple University and devoting a portion of my life to modern medicine, I found a passion in Ethnobotany, which led to applying a more holistic approach to women’s health- -hyper focused on women’s reproductive health. After experiencing womb complications of my own including PCOS, I turned to contraception for help only to find out later that it caused my womb issues to worsen. Eager to heal my womb, I switched over to a holistic lifestyle, changing my diet and studying herbalism. I reversed my womb issues and became passionate to help other women take back their power and heal their wombs. I am now a certified doula assisting women in every stage on their journey to motherhood including fertility, conception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. My name is Sophie Perkins and I grew up in Kerrville, TX. I have been practicing as a doula since 2020, and I have fallen in love with this work. I have no children of my own, but my wonderful girlfriend and I have plans to expand our family. While I hope to be able to carry a child, we are very excited about the prospect of adopting or fostering children! My hobbies include spending time with my partner and pets, renovating our home, and reading. In 2016, a friend of mine got pregnant and hired a doula. Hearing her birth story was such a privilege and an eye opening experience! As the months passed, she shared with me honestly what it was like being a new mom–the sleep deprivation, confusion, visceral joy and love of having a child. I felt so honored that she would trust me, and I was inspired to find my place beside families as they welcome new children. I looked into doula work and was hooked immediately. After I was trained, I knew with certainty that I had found my passion.

Hi everyone!! I’m Micaela! I have been practicing as a postpartum doula for almost 2 years and I’ve been a certified postpartum doula for almost a year! I am a single momma to my 3 year old son named Tobias! If I’m not chasing my wild child around, you’ll find me cuddled up on the couch watching some reality tv, maybe reading a good book, or in a coffee shop enjoying an over priced coffee. I also enjoy being outdoors, taking my son anywhere that will get all of his energy out, or hanging out with some like minded friends who are apart of my village as much as I’m apart of theirs! I had my son as a single, young, 18 year old woman. I was incredibly lost and didn’t know what I was doing(even though I had taken care of countless babies) I didn’t know how to handle it on my own. Megan Taylor was my doula and that was my first look into what support looks like during childbirth and even after!! I had already known I loved children and working with babies( I have been doing it since I was 13) but what I didn’t know was how much I enjoyed serving families and mamas who are stuck and exhausted just like I once was. My calling became clear to me once I began my relationship with Christ! His calling on my life and doing his good work is why I decided to become certified, so I could continue living out my passion and serve so many other women just like I was once served!

Hello! I’m Gabrielle and I am a birth and postpartum doula. I was born and raised in a small town near Los Angeles, California and moved to Texas to open the first few In N Out Burgers in San Antonio. I met my husband and moved back to California to be more close to my family, but missed Texas- so we are back again! I have a husband, 2 kids, dogs, cats, and chickens. We are very active with our local shelter and almost always have a foster animal, or 3. For 2 years we lived in an RV traveling to 12 states, and we would love to see more. I homeschool my children, and in my free time I love to travel, explore nature, listen to music, and catch up on TV. I have a bachelor’s degree and I am currently going to school to become a Registered Nurse. After my second child, I realized how important it is to have a village. I believe if I had a postpartum doula, my fourth trimester would have been completely different. There are so many women that don’t have a good support system, even though everyone deserves one. Being able to help my family members and friends who were postpartum has been such a rewarding experience; it led me to seek out formal training in doula work so I could make a career out of helping people. I am a planner and love doing research. Even though birth is very unpredictable, I love being able to inform parents of their options, advocate for them, and be the calm in the storm. I have experience in creating birth plans, different positions to help labor progress, postpartum planning, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
