We were fortunate enough to get one of the best night nurses out there. Nancy was incredible. From the first interaction over the phone, we felt totally comfortable with her. The first night she arrived and immediately sparked conversation around baby, and our dogs! She was so gentle, thoughtful, and without a doubt a life saver to my husband and I. We cannot recommend this service enough to families that are in the trenches. Nancy was there to guide me through uncertainties and was a positive light I didn't realized I'd need. Thank you KC Newborn Care for helping my husband and I establish a routine and get the needed sleep to be our best.

I met Jacquelyne and Sarah when I was 34 weeks pregnant with my son. Even though I was so far along, it felt like I had know them my whole pregnancy. We connected so well and they both made me feel like family. When i tell you they would do anything for their girls, i mean they would do ANYTHING for their girls. Even if it means coming over to massage you several times just because they know your body is aching and they want to help you rest better without you even having to ask them! They are so kind, gentle, honest, and generous with their time. They are so passionate about mommas and babies and it is so evident in every area of their lives. My birth didn’t go as planned, but they both comforted me and made me feel like I could do anything. even in the face of a mountain of fear. I couldn’t have done it without them. I am forever grateful for these beautiful women. I want them to be there for all of my babies!!! Also, RUN DO NOT WALK to having Sarah as your photographer!!! She is AMAZING! Every picture captures so much emotion and her editing is phenomenal!

Alysha was so amazing during the birth of our son! She truly made all the difference in the moments where things got tough during labor and delivery. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering a doula. She knows what to do in the heat of the moment and can be a great assistance for your support person as well. She ensures that medical staff are reminded of your birth plan elections, which I found to be especially helpful when I was unable to advocate for myself in the middle of labor. While labor and delivery are very unpredictable, Alysha will do everything she can to prepare you for the big day and give you confidence going in that will allow you to come out on the other side with an unforgettable and positive birth experience.

Stacie was my doula for the birth of my 3rd child. She still needed a certification birth so I reached out to her and signed up with her to be my doula. My partner and I were very nervous about allowing someone in our home due to a past tragedy in our town. A doula in our town several years ago killed a woman and stole her baby. Due to this we were very nervous. Stacie eased our concerns right away by presenting in a very professional manor. She was extremely knowledgeable about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding,  and postpartum.  She was also able to provide references, actual certifications, and professional organization details. Because of this, our anxiety disappeared.  She was there for 3 prenatal visits, the birth, and a postpartum visit. She was very supportive through the whole process.  I did end up needing to be induced, and got an epidural, but she was still very helpful. She provided great support from the moment we all arrived at the hospital to about 2 hours after the birth. I would highly recommend Stacie (Holistic Expectations) to be a doula. She is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate.  I would use her again.

I hired amy in 2025 for my first pregnancy PRICING: Amy had great pricing that was a little bit lower than most doulas you would find in KC proper. She was incredibly helpful in submitting paperwork so my work would reimburse me(trust me it was a lot of hoops to jump through and she did them with a smile) CLASSES: I’ll start by saying I was definitely someone who listened to a birth story or hypno birth video nearly every day on my drive into work. I think her classes offered great advice but much of the material if you were like me and constantly listen and read things could be learned online. I will say while I did feel like most of it was refreshers and was good to talk through different coping strategies, birth preferences, positions (this I felt was something I didn’t know much about and she had many print outs for), and ways to advocate for yourself. The longer version of will be at the end but I had to have a very quick delivery due to complications and my husband was able to really speak up and buy me some time using the strategies that Amy had made sure to really emphasize. I do think Amy had a lot to do with him telling the Drs. I need a few private minutes and asking for a different nurse to help me make my decision. ON CALL SUPPORT: Amy was so sweet and there was one time I had a rough appointment and was feeling beat down. She invited me to her house to chat and walk through my emotions. She was always there for a phone call or to help me find resources when I had questions L&D: I had an induction. We had built a plan with Amy for when I was further along and in need of support then she would come to the hospital. Unfortunately I had to have an urgent c section about 1 hour into my day. With that said I don’t have a lot of input on L&D with her as she was not the one we were frantically calling/ texting as I was going to the OR. She did show up after and offered to bring us food or any kind of comfort measures. She also offered to swing by to allow my husband some time out of the hospital (my folks were there so we didn’t take her up on this). I know Amy would’ve been there had we texted her because she was checking in frequently throughout the night when I was getting my cervix softened and rough when they started the pitocin POST PART: Amy was great about checking in and making sure I was supported. I was not super mobile and also had sooooo many people stopping by, she allowed me time that I much needed before my post partum visit. From the outside looking in - I could see this visit as even more helpful if you did not have a lot of people around the area. Overall Amy was great, you can tell she loves what she does and care deeply about her clients. I really leaned on some of the earlier teaching and strategies she gave me when I was told that my day was going to end differently than I expected.

I wasn’t sure about hiring a doula because I’m frugal but Amanda was well worth it! She was very helpful and knowledgeable about pregnancy and labor. Plus, she was good company. She stayed in the hospital with my husband and me for 2 full days. She was also there before and after our son’s birth for moral support and resources. Before labor, my husband didn’t fully understand the role of a doula but he is also very thankful that we had Amanda on our team. If you’re considering a doula, hire Amanda!

Hiring the right Doula was an incredibly important and necessary part of my birth story. I was terrified to give birth due to past trauma and fear of the unknown. I needed someone by my side to teach me what to expect and to be my advocate. Sarah fully prepared me for the expected and unexpected. She was my advocate, cheerleader, and friend through the entire process. I felt prepared and was able to be fully present for the birth of my son. I felt, and feel, she really cares for me. Sarah continues to check on me (4 months PP). I don't think this is a job for her, but a calling for those who need her. Hiring Sarah was the best decision I could have made. Jackie has been such an answered prayer for me and my family. The service that I looked over and read about is exactly what I recieved! She took her time explaining things to me wether it was options in health care or what things I could eat to better my health and also things high in nutrients that are needed for me and baby. She was super helpful with assisting me ensure all my questions and some I didnt think to ask were asked while at the doctor appointments. She helped me figure out a successful birth plan and sent me information (videos, articles, slideshows) as well to help me better understand why a birth plan is so important.
