My name is Jasmine, but many know me as Jas the Doula. I am a mama of two and I have a passion for women's health. In my spare time I am heavily involved in the community spreading awareness on the benefits of doulas and advocating for high quality care. I have spent nearly 6 years of my career case managing pregnant and postpartum women and providing ongoing education, resources, and encouragement through a prominent health plan in the Tidewater region. Additionally, I am a state-certified doula accepting Medicaid insurance and out-of-pocket payment plans. I have obtained my doula certification through Birth in Color RVA, a bachelor's degree in health services management from Norfolk State University and a masters degree in healthcare delivery science from Eastern Virginia Medical School. My focus is on prenatal, labor & delivery, postpartum and pregnancy loss support. As your doula, I will work with you to release any present fears, anxieties or previous birth traumas, help you plan and find the resources and providers for your ideal birth, help you create a birth plan to communicate your needs to providers, provide education on comfort measures, birthing positions and pain relief options for labor and birth, as well as assist with initiating breastfeeding within the first hour postpartum. I will remain connected with you up to two months postpartum, providing a total of four in-home visits to assist with newborn care, education and safety. I will also assist you with connecting to postpartum supports such as support groups, therapist, lactation consultants, pelvic floor specialist and more! Namaste! I’m Tory Whitney, affectionately known as Ms. Tory—founder of Whispering Lullabies, creator of the Sacred Sleep Method™, and author of Sacred Sleep: A Gentle Nervous System Guide for Babies and Parents, available on Amazon. I am a birth and postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, infant sleep consultant, mindfulness and Hypnobabies educator, and intuitive guide. I bring more than seven years of perinatal experience and over 30 years of hands-on childcare experience to every family I serve. As a five-star provider, I believe that level of care should be reflected in how I show up every day—with compassion, attentiveness, and dependable support. Parents deserve peace of mind and to feel just as cared for as their babies. Sacred Sleep is more than my approach to infant sleep—it is the philosophy that guides all of my care. I believe babies and parents thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported. Whether I am assisting during birth, caring for a newborn overnight, supporting postpartum recovery, or helping a family establish natural sleep rhythms, I begin with connection, nervous-system regulation, responsive care, and respect for each family’s needs. I teach parents to prioritize their baby’s cues over rigid schedules while considering feeding needs, growth, development, and guidance from their healthcare team. By observing each baby’s temperament, feeding patterns, sensory needs, and family rhythm, I help parents understand the “why” behind their baby’s behavior so they can make informed decisions with confidence. My approach brings together evidence-based newborn care, an understanding of infant physiology, mindfulness, intuitive attunement, and decades of practical caregiving experience. I offer calm, nonjudgmental support without cry-it-out or extinction methods, tailoring care to the family in front of me. Through in-home, overnight, travel, and virtual support, my goal is to help families feel seen, informed, rested, and confident as they find their rhythm—one breath, one night, and one season at a time. At Whispering Lullabies, caring for your baby also means caring for you.

We had the absolute best experience with Tory, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the moment she walked into our home, she brought an immediate sense of calm and confidence that we desperately needed. After just one visit, our entire household felt more settled. She didn’t just care for our newborn—she taught me how to care for him with new techniques, hands-on guidance, and so much patience. She showed me how to soothe him, how to read his cues, and how to manage those fussy moments that had felt overwhelming before. Her approach was gentle, practical, and incredibly reassuring. On top of that, both the baby and I were coming down with a cold, and she handled the situation with so much compassion. She showed me how to help a congested newborn, helped me feel more confident in what to watch for, and even let me get much-needed rest. I truly felt cared for as a new mom, not just supported in caring for my baby. If you are looking for someone who brings expertise, calm energy, and genuine care into your home, Tory is absolutely exceptional. One visit made such a meaningful difference for us, and I am so grateful for her. I am excited to work with her again and ensure that I’ve really taken her lessons to heart.

Having Jada as my Doula was by far the best experience. Since she was on my case, she had been there physically mentally and even helped financially when it came down to giving birth and the stretching and being comfortable & believing that your body is made for this because I did have my son naturally she was on the bed with me, helping me to be comfortable. She was walking around the hospital with me helping me to be comfortable. She was helping me labor on the toilet. She had the music going. She had affirmations going. Everything about the experience was amazing and I keep on saying if I ever have another child. I will definitely have her again and I will definitely do it naturally if you're skeptical about Abdullah, I would absolutely recommend Jada.

We are so grateful for Marissa! I knew from the moment we met she was the doula for our family. Her calm presence and joyful spirit was just what we needed for our pregnancy journey. Our meetings were informative and fun, and we felt so prepared going into labor. Marissa was extremely supportive through the whole process- always checking in to see how we were doing. She was a rockstar through delivery and stayed with us through the night until our daughter was born. I felt confident between her and my husband that I would be taken care of when I was unable to adequately make decisions during labor. On top of that, our two postpartum visits were helpful and honestly just comforting! At the end of our time together, we were sad to say goodbye because Marissa is forever a part of our family!
