I am a Mother of my lovely 6 year old son and my 2.5 year old daughter. As a birth and postpartum doula and the Founder of my Women's Wellness Organization 'Chikkitsa' I have dedicated my study and practice to Holistic health and wellness that focuses on the Mother-Baby dyad as a sacred union. I foster this union by ensuring the Mother's needs are met in the best manner with respect for traditional roots and cultural birth and care practices. I am skilled in helping Mothers prepare for natural labour and birth integrating movement, nutrition and breath work in my care. I have also led homebirths and helped mothers recover from a difficult birth especially an emergency C-section. I specialize in postpartum body care and pranic healing (a form of reiki) to help mother recover better and sooner so she can be present to her most cherished time of life with her little one and can actually enjoy this phase she worked so hard for.

I have worked with Gopika during my first homebirth. She was the perfect holistic postpartum guide and was fortunate to take her reiki, postpartum massage and counseling. What sets her apart is her ability to clearly see where the struggles stem from and how everything is connected. She is highly educated in women nervous system and work with the body as a whole. Highly recommend to anyone who needs prenatal and postpartum support.

Hello Mamas! I'm Char 🌸—a Birth & Postpartum Doula and Prenatal Yoga Instructor. It's been an honour supporting families through this special journey. BIRTH: My goal is to help you feel empowered, informed, and supported every step of the way. Whether you're planning a hospital or home birth, I meet you where you are and act as a bridge between your vision and your experience. POSTPARTUM: We once lived in a society where mothers raised their babies with other mothers. Each was held through her journey to Motherhood and knowledge was passed on from grandmothers to mothers. These days, mothers live a very different reality. Communal living has disappeared and families are spread out, leaving minimal help available. The sense of community is not as present as it once was, and that can feel isolating—especially for mothers. My goal is to be there during the peak of postpartum, allowing for a supportive transition into parenthood. EXPERIENCE: I've supported families with Birth and Postpartum through the Doula Service Association, the Doula for Aboriginal Families Grant Program, and Vancouver Coastal Health's Indigenous Health team. My background also includes work as a Pregnancy Outreach Worker with Burnaby Family Life, leading prenatal groups, one-on-one sessions, and postpartum support circles.

Charlene was an exceptional doula to my family. She helped my husband and I welcome our second child in North Vancouver this summer and I don't know what we would have done without her. She was compassionate, knowledgable, extremely skilled at birthing support, and helped hold us all together during a challenging labour, as well as provided us with all kinds of helpful support before and after the delivery. I can't say enough kind things about her, she thought of all the small things to make the journey easier for us, she comes highly recommended.

I am incredibly grateful to have had Rachel by my side during the birth of my baby girl. From the very beginning, she was so kind, accommodating, and genuine, and she made me feel completely supported and cared for throughout such a deeply personal and transformative experience. What stood out to me most about Rachel is that her care never felt business-minded or transactional. She strongly advocates for women and is truly passionate about her job. She was attentive to my needs, flexible with what I needed in each moment, and always made me feel heard and respected. Her approach is holistic and extends far beyond simply caring for mom and baby — she takes the time to consider the entire family and that personally gave me a great comfort. I feel so fortunate that she was part of such an important chapter in our lives, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a doula who cares for the whole family with genuine love and intention.

Jody's presence, during my deliver, brought such a sense of calm and reassurance. She was kind, accommodating, genuine, and incredibly supportive. One thing I will always remember is how Jody constantly reminded me to come back to my breathing when I would get completely zoned out from the intensity of the contractions. In those moments when the pain felt overwhelming and I found myself losing focus, her gentle reminders helped ground me and bring me back to myself. She knew exactly when to step in and what I needed without ever making me feel pressured. Jody is incredibly knowledgeable, but what makes her truly special is the serene and calm presence she brings into the room. Even during the turbulence and intensity of delivery, she remained steady, reassuring, and composed. Her calm energy was something I could lean on when everything around me felt overwhelming. I absolutely recommend Jody to any family looking for a doula who brings not only knowledge and experience, but also warmth, calm, and genuine heart to her care of not just the mom and baby but the entire family.

As a new mom, my husband and I didn’t have any family nearby, so I had many questions and felt unsure about what to expect after my pregnancy. Tiffany was a helpful resource before, during, and after the birth. With so many things I didn’t know and no one to guide me, Tiffany stayed with us and was always friendly, dependable and easy to talk to. She offered kind support and helpful advice for all my questions. Our baby also felt very comfortable with her, which made our transition to life with a new baby much easier. We are very thankful for Tiffany’s help as our doula. Having her around at such an important time meant a lot to our family. Even months after the baby was born, she continued to be a caring and dependable presence, and our little one has grown to love her.

When I realized my original birth plan with a midwife wouldn't be possible, I started to dread labour and birth. I was terrified of an overly medicalized process, losing my autonomy, agreeing to interventions I didn't fully understand, and the potential of lasting birth trauma. Working with Syllona changed everything. My labour and the birth of my son ended up being the most intense, beautiful, and transformative experience of my life, and I credit Syllona with much of this outcome. Her guidance and encouragement leading up to the labour allowed my partner and me to make the exact right decisions for our family. With Syllona’s grounded support, I confidently turned inwards, connected to my body in ways I never had before, and truly believed in my innate ability to give birth. Because of her, I felt empowered to guide my baby into our world, comforting him and letting him know he was safe. Thank you, Syllona, for guiding us and helping us bring our son into this world. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any expecting parents.

Santaya Stander

Hey my name is Santaya, I am a Birth doula.I work as a pregnancy coach while also being a personal trainer for delivery. I work with families to help them achieve their goals for birth. This means i meet with patients (and families) twice during pregnancy to go over needs and goals for clients birth plans. During my clients pregnancy i visit them every trimester to do a check up. In these visits i go over what to expect within that trimester and answer any of the patients questions. I also track the pregnancy in a book that i give to the patient after delivery. I offer business hours on call support to my clients. This means i will be available from 9 am-5pm for physical support, emotional support and informational support via text or call. I help assist/coach my clients with delivery at the hospital however long that may be.I don't have to do shift change. I am present during labor till a few hours after.I help support clients that decide on natural birth, epidural or C section. Postpartum clients usually feel they no longer need men after a couple hours. Most times this is natural for the family unit to adjust and adapt to normal everyday life. However, I also offer packages for postpartum newborn aftercare where I can assist with breastfeeding and overnight care of the newborn. My passion in life is the celebration of mothers. Working with women and helping women build their families THIER way. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you feel you are in need of a doula please reach out. I offer 1hr consultations in person for $25 dollars.Or free 15 minute consultation over the phone. You can contact me via email @ taya.prodoula@gmail.com. Working with Mak has honestly been one of the best decisions we’ve made during this pregnancy. From the very first consultation, she was so kind, genuine, and informative. She came to my home, sat down with me, walked me through what her role as a doula would look like, answered all my questions, and instantly made me feel comfortable. I never felt pressured or “sold to” at all. If anything, she gave me the information and confidence I needed to make the best decision for myself. What stood out to me most was how empowering she was. She reminded me that I was fully capable of having a beautiful birth experience with or without a doula, which I really respected. In the end, I chose to move forward with her because I could tell her focus was truly on supporting both me and my partner throughout the experience. She also checks in often just to see how I’m doing and how pregnancy is going, and she always congratulates me with each passing week. It may seem small, but it’s been so encouraging and reassuring during this season, especially after 4 previous miscarriages. Our first official appointment together was amazing too. My partner was there and had such a great experience with her as well. She’s very hands-on in such a comforting and supportive way. She guided us through different exercises and learning activities without it ever feeling overwhelming. She brought dolls to teach diaper changing, diapers, a medicine ball, handouts for birth prep, interactive card games around birth preferences and important conversations, and so many other thoughtful tools. You can tell she really knows her stuff and genuinely cares about the families she works with. The heart she brings into her work is really special and has made this experience even more magical than it already always was!
