The cost of a night nanny in Richmond Hill, ON can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Richmond Hill, ON, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. Chantell helped me tremendously after I gave birth to my son. I had a caesarean so I needed all the help I could get. She would help me with light cleaning, caring for him and attended appointments with us. She also provided me lots of emotional support as well, as I was a young first time mother and she was very patient and understanding with me. Overall she is very supportive and nurturing and I’m sure if you chose her, you would not be disappointed!

Lauren Redvers

Packages from $1,500 · $35/hr

Hello! My name is Lauren, the hands on and heart led birth and postpartum doula in Durham Region. I'm also a big homebody who loves to read, craft my own tea blends, make natural skincare products and candles, and spend time in nature as much as possible. Becoming a doula felt like stepping into a path that was already laid out for me. I have always felt a fierce protection for other women, and connected easily and deeply with the women in my life. Combined with my interest in herbal healing and natural remedies, my previous work with and love for children and babies, my need to feed everyone I love home cooked, nourishing meals, and my interest in birth & the medical system, I realized that I already was a doula, I just needed to take the leap onto the path.   Early in 2025, I completed a 10 day doula training retreat in Costa Rica, which was a beautiful way to begin my new career. In the past couple of years I have been amazed by the women I work with, the births I have experienced by their sides, and the cocoon of postpartum. I love this work! I believe that birth and postpartum are some of the most transformational and impactful moments of a woman’s life, and they deserve to be positive experiences. Feeling cared for, understood, nourished, and supported are essential in the journey from Maiden, to Mother (and from mother of one, to two, to three…).  If you’re looking for a doula you want to feel cared for by, someone you feel comfortable texting “is this my mucous plug?,” and someone who knows how important the little details are and takes care of them so you don’t have to (like LED candles at your birth and a warm cup of tea postpartum), then hello! Now, Id love to get to know you.

As a first time mom, I had a huge fear of normal delivery. I honestly believed I would never be able to handle labour pain and always thought I’d go for a C-section just to avoid it. But when my OB explained the disadvantages of a c-section, I slowly prepared myself for a normal delivery- though deep down, that fear was still in the corner of my heart. That’s when I decided to reach out for doula support. I knew doulas are there to emotionally support us and stay by our side through that challenging yet beautiful moment. Another big reason was that my husband and I are the only two people here in Canada. We moved here around 2022 and don’t have any immediate family around. As first time parents, both being the only children in our families, we had zero experience with newborns. It was overwhelming at times, and we truly felt lost and alone. That’s why choosing doula support was one of the most incredible decisions I’ve made- and selecting Lauren was truly the best thing that happened to us From the beginning, Lauren was so professional, calm, and caring. She provided me with a lot of labour and postpartum knowledge, did her own research, and shared so many helpful exercise materials to prepare me for my delivery. Whenever I had questions, she responded promptly and explained everything clearly. On my labour day, when I called her, she arrived at the hospital within an hour- whichw as simply amazing. She came fully prepared with massage oil, a pain relief comb, snacks, calming music, soft lights, and so many thoughtful items to make the experience more comfortable. Her presence game me so much confidence to face labour. She even worked closely with my husband, guiding and coordinating everything during those long hours. Lauren went above and beyond- she took notes on every single detail of my labour and later created a beautiful report for me to keep. She also supported me in making important decisions throughout the process with such care and understanding. I am so grateful that I chose Lauren as my doula. Her guidance, encouragement, and knowledge made a world of difference during one of the most important moments of my life. She’s friendly, compassionate, and genuinely passionate about what she does. I would highly recommend Lauren to any expecting mom looking for emotional support, confidence, and care throughout pregnancy, labour, and beyond.

I cannot recommend Isabel Nantaba enough as a birth and postpartum doula. From the moment we met her, she brought a sense of calm, confidence, and compassion that immediately put me at ease. During labor, Isabel provided unwavering support, intuitive guidance, and gentle encouragement, helping me feel empowered and informed every step of the way. Her care didn’t end after birth; she was a constant source of support during the postpartum period. Couldn’t be more grateful for the support from Elizabeth & Amy! I hired them as my doula team and it was one of the best decisions I made for my pregnancy and birth experience. We had 2 prenatal visits and 1 postpartum visit, and they answered all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. As a first-time mom who had an OB, I felt strongly pulled to hire them for extra support - and I’m so thankful I followed that instinct. Thanks to Elizabeth, I had an unmedicated birth. She believed in me when I needed it most and guided me through every contraction with so much calm and confidence. I delivered a healthy baby girl (6 lbs 9 oz), and I will always be grateful for the role she played in one of the most important days of my life. They offer 24/7 WhatsApp support - even months after birth - which made my partner and I feel supported and never alone during early parenthood. They are incredibly knowledgeable, warm, relatable, and genuinely wonderful people. Amy is also super tech-savvy, so everything felt organized and seamless from start to finish. I truly felt cared for as a new mom. I would highly, highly recommend them. The whole experience was amazing!

Chipo was our night doula when we had our little one. She helped me navigate everything from holding the baby, to latching. Baby L is my first. She is deeply knowledgeable and her decade of experience showed. My husband and I were uneasy about bringing someone in the home at first, but having Chipo and the way she cared for us, really changed our minds. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

If you’re asking me, DESIREE IS HIGH RECOMMENDED. She blended seamlessly with my midwife team and had such a natural ability to read the room. She knew exactly when to step in and offer support, what I needed in the moment, and when to give space. Her presence required no direction—she intuitively flowed with the process. Even in the challenging moments, she carried a calm and grounding presence, and in the lighter moments, she filled the room with joy and laughter. Her support created such a safe and uplifting atmosphere for my delivery. She was such a meaningful part of my redemptive birthing experience, and I am deeply grateful for her role in making it so calm, joyful, and empowering.

Natasa Oliveira

17 years of experience
$48/hr

Hi, I’m Natasa. I’m a PNSW and postpartum doula with over 17 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, postpartum, newborn care, and all the real-life things that happen once a baby comes home. My approach is calm, practical, and very much based on what your family actually needs that day. Some days that means caring for baby so you can rest, shower, eat, or just have a minute to yourself. Other days it may mean helping with feeding routines, diapering, soothing, naps, baby laundry, bottles, or resetting the baby areas so the day feels a little less chaotic. I’m not there to judge your home, tell you you’re doing it wrong, or make postpartum feel like another thing you have to manage perfectly. I’m there to step in, support you, and help make the day feel more manageable. A big part of how I support families is by noticing where things are getting stuck and helping create simple routines or systems that make sense for your home. Nothing fancy. Nothing overcomplicated. Just practical support that helps your household run a little smoother while everyone is adjusting. Postpartum can feel like a lot, especially when you’re tired, healing, feeding, learning your baby, and trying to keep the house from staging a small rebellion. My goal is to be another capable, calm person in the room so you don’t have to carry everything on your own.

Recent review

Natasa helped turn one of the most overwhelming times in our lives into one of the most memorable. We felt supported, gained confidence as parents, and finally had the reassurance that we were doing okay.

I’m Amanda :) I’m a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula with 20 years of experience as a caregiver supporting families and caring for children from the newborn stage through early childhood (and beyond). I bring a warm, calm, and intuitive approach to helping babies—and parents—feel cared for, supported, and loved. I loved completing my training to become a Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist, deepening my skills in newborn sleep, feeding, recovery support, multiples care and gentle nighttime routines. Families often describe me as a “baby whisperer” and “real-life Mary Poppins.” I have a background in teaching, psychology, and Master Life Coaching, with studies in child development, attachment, trauma-informed care, and emotional regulation—all of which guide my responsive, heart-centered approach. I’m Infant/Child/Adult CPR certified and experienced in supporting healthy sleep routines, emotional attunement, and nurturing environments. My care style is gentle, playful, and grounded in child-centred connection. Whether I’m feeding, burping & soothing a newborn, playing with a toddler (helping soothe tantrums or find ease & connection in transitions), or helping parents find more play or rest in parenting, I bring compassion and genuine love for the work I do & the families I get to care for. When I’m not with little ones, I also support parents and children as a Play-Based Healer and Family Coach, helping families navigate big emotions, communication, and connection. If you’re looking for calm, caring daytime infant/postpartum care or nighttime support for your baby (or babies!), I’d love to be part of your family’s journey. 💜 Supporting families in these early days & being part of your family's care team is truly an honour. I look forward to getting to know you & your little one(s)! :)

I don’t even know where to begin in describing how grateful I am for Petra and the incredible support she gave me, my husband, and our son born in April 2024. She was, in every sense of the word, the doula of our dreams. We call her our 'fairy godmother.' We were first-time parents who truly didn’t know what we were doing. Petra walked into our home with a calm, reassuring presence that immediately made us feel safe and supported. Petra never made us feel judged or inadequate — instead, she showed us step by step how to care for our newborn, starting with the first step into our house from the hospital, and my question of, "umm, so where do I put him?". From there, she patiently taught us all the practical skills (feeding, burping, bathing, diapering, soothing, etc.), as we had no idea what we were doing. All the books I read while pregnant did not prepare me for the real thing. Petra prepared us for the real thing. More than the “how-to,” Petra gave us peace of mind. She answered every question with kindness and expertise. She normalized our fears, reassured us when we second-guessed ourselves, and reminded us that we were doing a good job. She also cared for us as parents. She encouraged us to rest, to eat, and to breathe. Her presence lifted so much of the anxiety from those early days and gave us space to bond with our baby rather than drown in uncertainty. Petra was everything we hoped for in a doula: knowledgeable, nurturing, reliable, compassionate, and endlessly patient. She went above and beyond. I can say without exaggeration that she helped us survive and truly enjoy those first weeks as a new family. Suyin also contributed to the post-partum support of our family as my lactation consultant. You really just don't know how difficult breast feeding is until you try it! Suyin helped me with latch, positioning, and confidence. Her visits at our home were comfortable and stress-free, and she helped turned breast-feeding into something I could actually enjoy. I can’t recommend her enough!
