A wonderful experience. Vennessa taught us so much as first time parents. We will cherish her help and work for life! She also helped me with a crazy engorgement on her first day. That would’ve ended in a huge meltdown if not for her!!!

Hi, I’m Catherine — a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula and mom who believes every mother deserves to feel supported, heard, and cared for. My approach is rooted in “mothering the mother,” providing a safe, judgment-free space where families can feel confident and informed throughout their journey. As a birth doula, I support families through unmedicated births, inductions, epidurals, VBACs, and cesarean births. I use comfort measures like movement, positioning, breathing, counter-pressure, massage, and hands-on support while helping families understand their options and advocate for themselves. As a postpartum doula, I focus on caring for the whole family while making sure mom is cared for, too. From newborn care and feeding support to postpartum recovery, nutritious meals, and helping you get the rest you need, my goal is simple: to help you feel supported, confident, and cared for during one of the biggest transitions of your life.

I cannot say enough good things about Simone as our night doula and lactation consultant. From the moment she entered our home, she brought a sense of calm, compassion, and expertise that made an immediate difference in our postpartum experience. As a second-time mom navigating recovery, sleep deprivation, and feeding challenges, her presence was nothing short of a gift. She supported our entire family with such gentleness and professionalism. Her overnight care allowed us to get desperately needed rest, knowing our baby was in kind, capable hands. Her lactation guidance was equally invaluable. She offered evidence-based support with zero judgment—troubleshooting tummy issues, providing reassurance, and giving practical tools that worked. Thanks to her help, I went from overwhelmed and in pain to confident and empowered. I did not feel a bit of judgment when I chose to go from breastfeeding to formula due to my baby's tummy issues. She listened deeply, responded thoughtfully, and truly respected our parenting values. She didn’t just care for our baby—she cared for us. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled but also emotionally attuned and reliable, I wholeheartedly recommend Simone. She’s an absolute gem and a vital part of our early parenting story.

I believe birth is a journey, not a medical event to be managed. My role as your midwife is to walk beside you: to listen, to guide, and to protect your right to make informed choices about your body, your baby, and your birth. I began my career in 2006 as a NICU nurse, caring for the tiniest and most fragile newborns. In 2009 I became a midwife, first serving families at a community medical center and a community hospital. That background shaped how I practice today. I deeply trust the normal process of birth, and I am clinically ready when birth needs more support. I have attended births at home and in the hospital, and I know how to bridge the two calmly and safely. Almost ten years into my career as a midwife, I became a mama myself, and my two boys taught me more than any textbook. With my first son, I planned a homebirth. When labor needed more support, I transferred to the hospital and gave birth by cesarean. I know firsthand the disappointment, the grief, and the strength it takes when birth doesn't go as planned. With my second son, I had a successful VBAC at home. That birth brought healing and reminded me how powerful our bodies are. I have been on both sides of the bed. I understand what it means to hope for a certain kind of birth, to need a change of plans, and to come back and birth again with confidence. Whether you're planning your first homebirth, hoping for a VBAC, or healing from a past experience, I will meet you with honesty, safety, and deep respect for your journey. What I offer • Full-scope homebirth midwifery: prenatal, birth, and postpartum care • Hybrid prenatal care with in-office visits and home visits from 37 weeks (or home visits throughout) • VBAC support and counseling • In-office ECV (turning) for breech babies • The Hospital Birth Bridge Program: in-home labor assessment and support for families planning a hospital birth, so you arrive at the right time • Lactation visits with a Certified IBCLC: in-home or in-office help with latch, supply, pumping, and feeding challenges • GYN wellness care: annual exams, preconception care, birth control, and hormone health from your teens through menopause • Childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care classes • Postpartum recovery and whole-woman care through my sister practice, ReGlo Aesthetic & Wellness

Hi! I’m Liz Alleva, founder of HypnoBirthing Mommy and a certified HypnoBirthing® International Childbirth Educator based in Wilton, Connecticut. I offer private classes in person and virtually throughout the USA and Canada. My passion for this work began with the birth of my son, Mason. Experiencing how preparation, relaxation, and support shaped my own birth inspired me to help other families feel informed, calm, and confident. Before becoming a childbirth educator, I spent 15 years teaching dance in public schools. I studied Dance and Sociology at Wesleyan University and earned my master’s in Dance Education at NYU. That background brings a love of movement, body awareness, and teaching to everything I do. My classes are relaxed and conversational—a welcoming space where no question is silly. We practice breathing, self-hypnosis, relaxation, and partner support, while exploring your options and what matters most to you. Whether you’re planning a hospital, birth center, or home birth, with or without medication, your preferences guide our work together. Mason is still part of the heart of my business. He helps me put together the supplies and little extras we send to families—a personal touch that makes this work even more special to me. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and prepared, with practical tools you can carry into birth and parenthood. 💛

We used Liz's services in early 2026 as we prepared to welcome our first child. Both my spouse and I participated via Zoom from Canada. Of the entire pregnancy/newborn journey, I was most nervous for the delivery. I was clear about wanting to do it unmedicated and with as few medical interventions as possible, although we were having our birth in the hospital. The mental preparation that Liz provided gave us both the confidence that resulted in a nearly perfect birth experience. Two hours on two separate occasions with Liz, plus the homework and the bundle of goodies (including the hypnobirthing book) she and her son Mason sent by mail, was all we needed. Even if you don't use 100% of the hypnobirthing techniques, the skills will help you build confidence to face whatever comes in the birthing process. Would highly recommend taking the course with Liz.

I'm Jen Ballew, a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and pediatric sleep coach and the founder of The Parenthood Project USA. For over a decade I've helped exhausted families find real, sustainable rest, supporting more than 250 families along the way. My approach to sleep is warm, biology-first, and led by your child's nervous system, never cry-it-out or leaving a baby to cry alone. I work with everything from newborn sleep shaping in the early weeks to responsive coaching for older babies and toddlers, always building rhythms that fit your family rather than forcing a rigid method or anything not developmentally appropriate. My practice began in Southern California, where I spent ten years supporting local families through birth, postpartum, and sleep. Today the work is nationwide and fully virtual, and I'm expanding in person into New York City as I put down roots in Brooklyn. Wherever you are, my care can meet you there. My offerings reach across the whole journey into parenthood. Alongside sleep, I offer birth preparation through my program The Threshold, blending somatic practice, evidence-based education, and nervous system support, with a specialty in VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). My postpartum care supports recovery and the tender early weeks, including nourishing meal prep with healing foods rooted in traditional care, placenta encapsulation, and gentle postnatal bodywork. At the heart of it all, I believe bringing new life into the world is a profound rite of passage that deserves reverence, preparation, and care. I hold each family's path with deep respect, and I would be honored to walk alongside yours.

My husband and I are so thankful to have worked with Jen through my first pregnancy. She worked with us through a series of educational sessions in our home which really worked for us. We were looking to get a hands-on learning experience to walk us through everything to expect for labor & delivery but really we got so much more. Yes, you will get insights on pregnancy, birth and postpartum but Jen gives you undivided support and care - it really feels like a personal journey. I felt comfortable being myself and sharing with her about my life and preferences which was crucial in creating my birth plan. Her sessions were so impactful. I recalled a lot of her key notes while I was in labor and was able to make decisions that felt right for me in the moment. Outside of this, my husband felt really confident and empowered in his role for me as well. I also found that everything she taught us on partner advocacy has gone beyond the delivery room and strengthened our relationship overall which has been a huge plus! It was amazing to have had her support and wealth of knowledge in preparation for the birth of my son. I highly recommend working with her if you’re looking to experience an informed, supported, and empowered journey!

Think of me as your perinatal support person. I support women and birthing people of color who are feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I started this work because I realized how many women of color are navigating pregnancy without the support, guidance, or advocacy they deserve. It deeply concerns me how often Black and Brown women have their concerns dismissed by medical providers—sometimes resulting in traumatic and avoidable birth experiences. Now, I help women and birthing people of color move from feeling unheard and unsure to feeling informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for themselves and their birth preferences. If you’re a woman or birthing person of color feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed—you’re in the right place. This journey is yours. I’m simply here to hold space, answer your questions, and make sure you feel safe, seen, and supported every step of the way. Random Facts: I've supported births at Katz Women's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Hungtinton Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns and NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. As first time parents, my wife and I went into her pregnancy with nervous anticipation. Even after reading the books, going to feeding seminars and ingesting as much information as possible there was still the fear of the unknown. Brie calmed all of those fears with her knowledge, experience and calm demeanor. I will never forget her steady hand when we faced unexpected challenges. She took my and my wife's fears and confusion, explained our options and helped give us the birthing experience that we wanted. I could not imagine doing this again without her. I can't express my gratitude enough Brie. You helped deliver my daughter and for that I will always be grateful.

I hired Shayvonne as a doula, and it was the best decision I made. While my husband was extremely attentive and a wonderful support during labor, Shayvonne provided effective interventions for pain management and also gave my husband an opportunity to rest so he could have energy post delivery. Throughout the whole process, Shayvonne helped me to stay calm and hopeful. When I was too tired to voice my needs or wanted to give up, she quickly picked up on it and provided the encouragement and motivation I needed. There was no doubt in my mind that I could trust her completely to listen to me and advocate for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula.

— Melissa T., review of Shayvonne Anderson

October 2026

I had the BEST experience with Shay! Her attentiveness during one of the biggest moments of my life was truly incredible for both my husband and me. ❤️ Throughout every contraction, she gave me her all by calming me, reassuring me, and helping me feel supported when I needed it most. But her care didn’t stop once my beautiful baby girl arrived! During that first week postpartum, Shay helped me feel confident in myself and reassured me that I really could do this motherhood thing. She was there during the wee hours of the night, supporting me when I needed rest and literally bringing my baby to my bedside so I could get some much-needed sleep. That may seem like a small gesture to some, but to me, it meant EVERYTHING. She made such a difference in my birth and postpartum experience, and I will forever be grateful for the care she gave our family. She also made sure my husband felt informed and confident, giving him the knowledge and tools to show up for me in the best way possible as we navigated this beautiful new chapter together. I would recommend Shay over and over again to any expecting mom, first-time mom, or mama who deserves to feel supported, cared for, and empowered. Having her by our side was truly a blessing, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

— Arianna L., review of Shayvonne Anderson

October 2026

First off I want to begin to say she is the most sweetest person I’ve ever met. Very professional very calm great listener and is not afraid to stand on 10 toes behind your wishes. She makes sure of what YOU want and is not afraid to verify what you want over and over right up until you go give birth and even after. She makes sure that your comfortable and that your wishes are heard and one thing I can never get out of my head is her asking me “is this what YOU want” or “ Are you ok with this” “are we on the same birth plan?” even in the hospital in-front of any doctor or nurse she was not afraid to make sure about what IIIII WANTED. She wasn’t afraid to ask questions nor was she afraid to advocate for me. She literally makes it all about you and your birth and your baby. She is available to you at any time if you need her do not be afraid to reach out. She gives great advice she has great techniques that will prepare you for birth during birth and after. This girl deserves an award like I really loved her services she even had a backup plan (still accommodating to your wants and needs) just incase if by any reason she wasn’t available for me when I went into labor. She loves what she does and she’s just a doll. I want her to be my doula again for my next pregnancy 💜
