My journey into birth work began after the birth of my first child . I often refer to this experience as the best and hardest time. I was astounded by the disparity of education, preparation, and namely support provided around birth and even more so postpartum. I became a passionate student and advocate of birth, and postpartum experiences in my corner of the world and the larger diaspora. My mission as your doula is to walk alongside you, providing information, comfort measures, resources, emotional support, advocacy and space. My intent is that you will feel you can confidently meet any of the dynamic set of challenges that come with childbirth, thanks to the knowledge and supportive environment you’ve created by using a doula. It is my belief that when a birthing person receives evidence based information, is in a safe space, with unconditional support; no one knows better what a birthing person needs better than the person giving birth. We work closely with other health care professionals such as fellow lactation consultants, nurse practitioners, family practitioners, pediatricians, midwives, obstetricians and pediatric dentists to ensure optimal outcomes. We offer the postpartum community a safe haven for breastfeeding/chest feeding mothers to gather and connect with one another via support groups, individual consults and virtual consults. We also offer breastfeeding classes antenatally as well as CPR classes.

Hello families! I am excited to reach out and let you know of my as needed availability as a night nurse. I am currently working at a local hospital with laboring moms as well as supporting moms in the postpartum period. I do work full time typically three days a week with alternating weekends but am happy to support families on my days off as my usual schedule when I am not working is still being awake at night and sleeping during the day. So excited to meet your litte ones and support you during this sensitive and crucial step to healing.
