My best friend asked me to be "her doula" 19 years ago. I flew to LA and planned to be there for 10 days in hopes the baby would come in that window of time. I sang and whispered into her belly and Introduced myself to her baby. We had quite a time during the labor as her midwives guided her through the experience. She was incredible! She chose a home birth which ended at the hospital. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Witnessing the birth was transcendent and inspiring! When I flew back to NYC, I vowed that when our youngest daughter was in college, I would become a Doula. I grew up in Minnesota. I graduated with a BFA from the acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Performing Arts. I have a background in dance, singing, yoga and martial arts. I was an American Council of Exercise certified personal trainer for 12 years. When I became pregnant, becoming a certified prenatal trainer was ideal. I especially loved working with all my pregnant clients. Having an online health and wellness business with Arbonne International has been another passion of mine. Over the years, I have coached a team on how to build their own online businesses and shared this opportunity in a public speaking setting for large groups. I teach my clients the benefits of aligning with a vegan brand they can trust and the value of choosing a B corporation, and living a more green lifestyle. I am a certified Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula with the International Doula Institute. I am also certified as a Perinatal Nutrition Educator, Birth Educator and Lactation Counselor. I hold a certification in Diversity Equity and Inclusion. I am also first aid, AED/CPR certified for pediatric and adults through the Red cross. Being present, and relying on my emotional intelligence, knowledge and discernment, helps me to navigate how to best listen and anticipate a person's needs. I embody joyful humor as my way to serve others. I bring warm energy, passion and authenticity to the people I spend time with. I'm a lifelong student who loves to learn, grow and collaborate. I believe these qualities, as a birth team member, contribute to the overall outcome and experience of all involved. I live in Harlem with my husband. We have two daughters. Hobbies: singing in choir, biking, and lifting weights. I also enjoy baking, reading and traveling. I love conversations over dinner with my husband and friends, and going to the theater and jazz clubs. Walking in nature each day is key to living in my joy, and of course, fitting as many plants and flowers into our home as humanly possible!

Throughout my pregnancy, I always knew I wanted to hire a doula for birth support, and finding Julia felt like a sign from the universe. From our prenatal sessions and newborn care education to the moments after our son Theo was born, she brought such a calming, reassuring presence to our lives. When we learned that Theo was breech and that I would need a C-section, Julia was an incredible source of support. She helped me process the change in plans, navigate my emotions, and feel confident and empowered going into a birth experience that looked different than I had originally imagined. Julia met us exactly where we were and was both an incredible teacher and source of support. She offered practical guidance, emotional reassurance, and confidence when we needed it most, always making us feel seen, supported, and capable. She shared her expertise while helping us trust our own instincts as new parents. We are so grateful for Julia’s care, warmth, and knowledge during one of the most important chapters of our lives. We recommend her to any growing family. S.B. Brooklyn Mom

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cheryl and the support she provided throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. From the beginning, Cheryl and I connected so well, and I immediately felt comfortable with her. As a first-time mom, that was so important to me. I was in a new city, delivering at a new hospital, and trusting a care team I had never worked with before, so having someone in my corner who I genuinely trusted made such a difference. One of the things I appreciated most was how much Cheryl prepared both my husband and I before I went into labor. She helped us create our birth plan, taught us different exercises, positions, and circuits I could use to prepare for labor and during labor, and most importantly, taught us how to advocate for ourselves and communicate what I wanted during my birth experience. That preparation gave us so much more confidence going into the hospital. Her support continued immediately after I gave birth. Cheryl helped me navigate those first moments of postpartum, including helping my baby latch for breastfeeding, which meant so much to me as a first-time mom. She made sure I felt supported, comfortable, and cared for during such a new and vulnerable moment. What makes Cheryl even more amazing is that her care didn’t stop after I gave birth. Five months postpartum, she STILL checks in, not only to see how I’m doing and adjusting to motherhood, but also to ask about my baby and my husband. She remembers our names, asks about each of us, and genuinely cares about how we’re doing as a family. She has also made it a priority to hear and understand my experience as a first-time Black mother, which has been incredibly meaningful to me. Her support has never felt like simply providing a service and moving on once the baby was born. The connection we built is genuine, and it’s clear that Cheryl truly cares about the mother, the baby, and the family as a whole. I’m so grateful that Cheryl was part of such an important chapter in our lives. She made me feel heard, prepared, cared for, and supported during one of the biggest transitions of my life. If you’re looking for a doula who is knowledgeable and compassionate but also someone who will genuinely get to know you and care about your family beyond your delivery day, I HIGHLY recommend Cheryl. ❤️

Nicole Chen was an incredible support throughout my breastfeeding journey. I was having a very difficult time with my baby struggling to latch, finding out my baby was tongue-tied, and dealing with a low milk supply. It was an emotional and overwhelming experience, but Nicole was patient, knowledgeable, and so encouraging every step of the way. She took the time to listen to my concerns, offered practical techniques to improve latching, explained how my baby's tongue tie could affect feeding, and gave me realistic guidance and support for increasing my milk production. Most importantly, she never made me feel judged or discouraged. Her compassion, expertise, and reassurance gave me the confidence to keep trying. I am so grateful for her care and would highly recommend Nicole Chen to any new parent looking for a caring, supportive, and experienced midwife and breastfeeding advocate.

Could not have went through labor/delivery and early postpartum days without gab. As a FTM going through a journey i didn’t know anything about having gab by my side made me calmer, more informed and eased my anxiety. She walked me through birth plans, dealing with the contractions, helped me latch babygirl from the moment she was out. Between the post partum massage/belly binding, just teaching me how to wrap my baby, how to properly feed her, and coming over just to talk through my post partum feelings, I truly could not have done this without her!!

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. Dads, that includes you. Your little one finds comfort in your presence before they’re even born. Your voice and kisses will be one of your child’s favorite things. My business & my baby, Birth & Beyond, NYC is an extension of my family; fellow educators like myself, with a combined 206 years of supporting vulnerable populations in New York City. In October 2026, I will celebrate 26 years in the healthcare industry, 18 years as a registered nurse. It’s an honor to be a part of birth, an intimate time for families to come together. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature. Hi, I'm Taylor Clarke-Cameron, a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator based in New Jersey. Since launching my doula practice in December 2024, I've had the privilege of supporting 15 families and attending 13 births, and every single one has deepened my commitment to this work. Before stepping into birth work, I spent over a decade as a school administrator — advocating for individuals, navigating complex systems, and building trust with families during some of the most pivotal moments of their lives. That foundation shapes everything I do as a doula: I show up informed, steady, and fully in your corner. My mission is simple: every birthing person deserves to feel informed, empowered, and supported — no exceptions. I am proudly affirming of all families, including single parents, multicultural and multi-religious families, LGBTQIA+ families, parents with disabilities, parents who are neurodivergent, and those growing their families through adoption. My Approach Universal Support, Personal Touch Birth is universal—it's happened across cultures, centuries, and countless galaxies of human experience. Yet YOUR birth is uniquely yours, a wonder that deserves celebration and support tailored specifically to your needs. Whether you're a single parent writing your own heroic story, part of a multicultural or multi-religious family blending beautiful traditions, navigating parenthood in the LGBTQIA+ community, a differently-abled parent, a neurodivergent parent, or creating your family through adoption—I am here for YOU. Your journey matters, your choices are valid, and your experience deserves nothing less than stellar support.

Taylor was my birth doula, and I truly feel it was divine intervention that she came into my life—especially since my son was born on her birthday. From the very beginning, she was incredibly attentive, informative, and intentional in supporting both me and my husband. She created a detailed binder for us with guides on what to expect, postpartum care, exercises, and nutritious foods that were safe for both me and my baby. The information was so thorough that I never felt the need to search elsewhere. One moment that deeply stood out to me was when I shared that I wanted to play Surahs during my labor and delivery. At our next visit, Taylor had printed out different Surahs along with explanations of their purposes, making it easier for me to choose what I wanted to hear. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to me. I also appreciated her honesty and professionalism. If she didn’t know something, she would say so—then either refer me to my midwives or research and follow up with me. During labor and delivery, she was calm, knowledgeable, and attentive. She impressed the medical staff, made me feel safe and advocated for, and ensured my husband felt supported and confident asking questions. Taylor made a huge impact on my first delivery, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better doula. Even now, she continues to send monthly emails with updates on my son’s development and what to expect as I heal. Taylor is amazing, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about what she does.

Hazel is AMAZING! This was my second birth. my last experience with doula was okay, so I was very hesitant to get a doula this time. But I'm so so glad that I did because it made a HUGE difference. First I really appreciate the prep visit at my house. we talked about my preference and a mindset prep which helped me through labor. She was always on top of texts, calls and emails for questions, and would check in front time to time in between. When my labor started, even with the previous experience, we were still a little nervous. So she came to our house right away and helped me through the labor. She also took care of the communication with my midwife, which took a big burden off me when I was in pain. I chose natural delivery with no meds, and her counter pressure techniques really helped me through the pain. She was there from the beginning till I was released (a few hours after birth) and got me into the car. We had a postpartum visit and she massaged my belly and used moxie sticks on me. It felt really good. I felt really cared for the whole time. Had my sister lived closer, I'd have booked Hazel for her birth!

I focus on helping you understand what’s happening in real time. Through pelvic dynamics, positioning, and movement, I guide you through labor in a way that supports progress while helping you stay grounded in the moment. Before I went to Jade's childbirth class at Montclair BABY, I had never heard of a doula. Her class was holistic of all the options during labor and delivery, and my husband and I felt like Jade could be the perfect support person to ease my anxiety during pregnancy and labor. We were absolutely right. Jade offered continuous comfort and information for me throughout my pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and gave advice for things I hadn't even considered. Being someone who has always been terrified of childbirth, Jade eased my anxiety leaps and bounds. We prepared for it beforehand, but once I went into labor, Jade supported us over the phone and at my home before we went to the hospital. My birth went from something that I used to fear, to something I now look back on with fond memories (I think that's a wild transformation) and I truly credit a lot of that to Jade. She was an advocate for me at the hospital, she rarely left my side except when I needed alone time with my husband, and she encouraged me. She worked cooperatively with the rest of the birth team. Dare I say birth was actually a little fun? I whole heartedly recommend Jade as a doula and would love to have her at my future births. There really aren't enough words to describe how grateful I am for her.

Yasmina was a vital part of my second pregnancy and labor and delivery. I don’t know what I would have done without her. To give some background, I had an emergency cerclage put in and I reached out to Yasmina after to inquire about her doula services. She listened to my concerns, my backstory, and my wishes. Not only was she attentive and caring, but because she knew there was a possibility the baby would be born early, she had a backup doula in case she was not back from out of town. That doula was also so attentive and was full of knowledge as well. Yasmina checked in with me consistently and when it was time, she came to the hospital immediately after I confirmed she should come. When there, she had so many strategies to help calm my mind and my body. She helped me think through decisions when it came to my labor and the hospital/doctors and she advocated for me. Yasmina knew I wanted to go natural/no epidural or Pitocin and we made a plan to do so. As the pain got more and more intense, she was encouraging and suggested different positions and coached me through the contractions and hard times. She applied pressure and made suggestions and had music and lighting and smells to set the scene in addition to different tools to help me through. I was in labor for about 3 hours and when it came time that I felt I couldn’t go any further because the pain was a 10/10, she continuously cheered me on until it was time to push. While pushing she advocated for me when I couldn’t even talk. When things got scary after baby came out, she held my hand and calmed me. After things were settled she made sure I was okay before she left. Afterwards, she checked up on me many times. I was not able to have a doula during my first labor because it was during COVID, Yasmina made my second labor a COMPLETELY different experience in a positive way. The first time I tore a second degree and my cervix lacerated, the second time with her I only had first degree tears and a good recovery and I truly believe it was because she calmed me and helped me relax my body as much as possible during labor. I highly recommend Yasmina to be your doula. She is knowledgeable, understanding and good at what she does!
