I’ve got doula skills and am a birth expert, but what do I really do? I believe birth is a convergence of physiology, energy, spirit, psyche—and the deep wisdom of the birthing person and baby. Around October 2026, I should be able to start accepting insurance. My job? To honor and hold space for it and support it with everything I’ve got. I’m also a four-time postpartum survivor, and that experience lit a fire in me to make postpartum care stronger, smarter, and more supported for every family. My approach is real, grounded, and heart-led. I believe birth is powerful, people are wise, and support should always come with a dose of humor and a whole lot of heart. I have 25 years' experience as a in healthcare providing caregiving, teaching for children in homeschool co-ops and my church. I've been a volunteer doula since 2015. And, in 2023 I started working full-time as a doula specializing in birthing, postpartum, newborn care and lactation. July of 2026, I updated all of my training certifications. I have taking 9 units, in Child Development. I provide Birthing Doula support and after the baby is born, I provide postpartum doula support. I also include lactation support if request. After retiring from a long career of working with children and families, I became a professional doula. I wanted to support and nurture birthing persons during this sacred time of their lives. I wanted to offer sacred holistic services to them, youth, and communities by partnering with them as they learn more about holistic reproductive wellness. I am a 25 year old mother of two, and my journey into becoming a doula is deeply rooted in my own birth experiences. I’ve had both a hospital birth and two unassisted, natural home births, which gave me a well-rounded perspective on how powerful and capable women are when they feel supported, safe, and heard. During my first birth in a hospital setting, I found myself having to advocate strongly for my own choices, which opened my eyes to how essential it is for mothers to have someone in their corner. What led me to this work is my belief that mothers deserve to be at the center of their birth experience. While the focus often shifts to the baby, a mother’s physical, emotional, and mental well being is just as important especially during and after delivery. Birth environments, particularly hospitals, can sometimes feel chaotic or overwhelming, but with the right support and advocacy, they can also be calm, respectful, and empowering spaces. I understand that while many women desire home births, not all have that option, especially in higher risk situations.
