ANITA HERMOSILLA

6 years of experience
Packages from $350

Hi, I'm Anita Hermosilla (she/her), a Birth Doula, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and Community Birth Worker based in Austin, Texas. I provide continuous, holistic, evidence-informed support in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, helping families feel empowered, informed, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. My work is rooted in both professional training and lived experience. I immigrated to the United States from Chile without the support of nearby family or a community to lean on. Becoming a mother while navigating a new country profoundly shaped the way I understand birth, healing, and the importance of compassionate support. I am the mother of three children: my oldest daughter was born through an unmedicated vaginal birth, while my twins were born by cesarean birth and spent time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Experiencing both an empowering physiological birth and the unexpected challenges of a surgical birth and NICU journey gave me a unique perspective on the many paths birth can take. These experiences taught me firsthand how important it is to feel heard, respected, and supported—regardless of how your birth unfolds. Every family's journey is different, and I believe every family deserves compassionate, nonjudgmental care. Since 2020, I have been a DONA International-trained Birth Doula with additional training in Rebozo techniques, Placenta Medicine, Sound Healing, and Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Circle Facilitation. My work with Mama Sana Vibrant Woman, serving families throughout Central Texas, has deepened my commitment to reproductive justice, culturally responsive care, and supporting families from diverse backgrounds. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, a scheduled cesarean, a VBAC, or simply hoping to feel more confident and prepared, my goal is to help you feel safe, informed, and empowered every step of the way. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you welcome your baby into the world.

As a single mom by choice, I wanted someone who would support me without judgment and help me feel confident throughout my pregnancy and birth. Anita created a safe space where I always felt respected and celebrated. She included the people I chose as my support system and reminded me that my family was complete exactly as it was. Her kindness, knowledge, and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed to welcome my daughter into the world

Brigette was a wonderful doula for us! I personally interviewed many potential doulas for my birth and Brigette really stood out. Not only is she skilled in her practice but she has a great passion for what she does. During our appointments in advance of the birth, she brought resources and provided clear answers to our questions. And during the birth, Brigette came to support me in the middle of the night when my labor started, all the way through to the hospital where my birth story ended with the arrival of my little girl. Even after the birth, Brigette has been a wonderful support, checking in with us regularly and doing what she can to answer questions and provide additional resources. I highly recommend her!

Hello! My name is Saskia, and I am so excited to be a part of your pregnancy/postpartum journey! I have been a Registered Nurse for five years working in Postpartum and Labor units across America. My experience with high-risk mothers & newborns has helped me see just how special the birthing experience is. Seeing couples turn into a family for the first time, or seeing siblings introduced to their new brother/sister warms my heart to no end. It’s an amazing feeling to know that a new bundle of joy has entered the world and that I had the opportunity to be a part of it! While my years working in the hospital provided great learning experiences, I realized that my passion lies with mothers and newborns in their home environment. I decided to complete my training as a Certified Postpartum Doula, and have been able to support families with lactation support, early sleep training, soothing techniques, feeding schedules and all that postpartum brings for the last two years. I love being able to encourage and uplift the entire family as we work through the fourth trimester together! I also am a yoga/breath-work instructor, and specialize in infant and pregnant women. I live in Austin, and as of now only have a fur baby. I grew up overseas in Europe until I was 17 years old. Growing up in Europe showed me how precious life is and can be. It taught me not to take anything for granted. When I am not working, I am hiking with my pup, doing arts and crafts, exploring new places, swimming, hanging out with my family at the ranch, meeting up with friends, or doing yoga. I would love to be a part of your journey and help welcome your baby into your beautiful home!

Nia Kimbrough

Hello my name is Nia, I was introduced to the wonderful world of birth work during my sister’s pregnancy. As I was helping the practitioner, she hinted at the fact that she was a Doula. Adding, that I would do well in that field due to my caring nature. After more research, I began seeing the need for this service and fell in love with this industry. In 2019, I became a Dona trained Birth Doula, obtained certifications in: Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Postpartum Doula(PPD), Basic Life Support(BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), CPR, First Aid and trained in Benkung Belly Binding. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting parents with their newborns days and nights, provided care for families across states, families with multiples, parents with disabilities and supported births in both hospitals and birth centers. I’ve learned to be more understanding, open to new ideas and sensitive in different situations. It’s everything I thought it would be and more. I still find the time to be a supportive wife to my husband, homeschool my son, sing , brush up on my Spanish even play Pickle ball. I hope to support as many families as I can while enjoying this adventure, looking forward to being apart of your families’ journey!

Recent review

We had such a wonderful experience working with Nia as our night nurse coordinator. From the very beginning, she was professional, responsive, and incredibly supportive during such an important transition for our family. She matched us with Susie and Tona, who were both absolutely wonderful, and together they helped us establish a healthy sleeping routine for our son, Miles. Nia consistently checked in, made the process feel seamless, and truly cared about making sure we felt comfortable and supported. Thanks to her coordination and guidance, we now feel confident and settled into a great routine at home. We are so grateful for the care, communication, and overall experience. I would highly recommend Nia to any family looking for compassionate, reliable overnight newborn support.

Renea Ortiz

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Renea, and I founded Roots of Radiance from a deep passion for supporting families through some of life's most transformative experiences. As a birth and postpartum doula, mindfulness coach, Certified Medical Assistant, and healthcare educator with more than a decade of experience, I bring together evidence-based knowledge, compassionate care, and a holistic approach to emotional well-being. My journey into birth work led me to support families within birthing center settings, working alongside midwives and witnessing firsthand the strength, vulnerability, and beauty of the transition into parenthood. These experiences continue to shape the way I serve my clients today, with steady guidance, practical support, and a deep respect for each family's unique path. I believe that birth and postpartum are not simply events to move through, but profound rites of passage that deserve thoughtful preparation, meaningful support, and space for personal growth. Whether you are preparing to welcome your first baby or adding to your family, my goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and connected to yourself throughout the journey. Service is at the heart of everything I do. In addition to supporting my clients, I volunteer with families in my local community through Austin Angels, an organization dedicated to providing consistent support and meaningful connections to children, caregivers, and families. As an extension of that commitment, a portion of every Roots of Radiance booking is directed toward supporting the families I serve through these outreach efforts. When you choose to work with me, you are also helping strengthen and uplift families within our community. It is truly an honor to walk alongside families during such a sacred season of life, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Renea was amazing and supportive every step of the way. I’m not sure I would have been so open to changes during birth if it wasn’t for her help to both me and my husband. She was 100% worth the investment!

Hannah Elmer

I became a birth doula because I am in awe of the power of women. It is an honor to help you tune into the wisdom of your body, and to support your family as they learn how to support you. I help you find your breath when things get big. I remind your partner how to hold you. I help create a quiet, womb-like space—dim lights, soft sounds, warm water, and anything else that helps you feel safe, grounded, and undisturbed. I attend home births, birth centers, and hospital births. Wherever you feel safe is the right place to have your baby. My job is to help regulate the space, so that you can surrender. I offer peace of mind, solid education, and steady presence so you can meet this experience with courage. My care is personalized and client-led. I follow your rhythm. My approach is grounded in the belief that women already have everything they need within them to safely and instinctively bring their babies into the world. Whether this is your first baby or your sixth, your birth matters. Each one is a new journey, a new chance to grow and expand and meet yourself in a whole new way.

Hannah is a fantastic doula! She has so much information to share in the prenatal appointments that made me feel that much more prepared. She was present during my long labor - day and night - and offered so much support to me and my husband during the process. And her helping hand during my postpartum period was much appreciated as well. I'm so glad she was a part of my birth experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, caring, and dutiful doula.

Hi I'm Kyndal! My path into postpartum care began in 2017 as a nanny for families with newborns. I had the privilege of growing alongside many families during their baby's first year of life, most of them first-time parents. While I loved caring for newborns, I quickly realized my true passion was educating and supporting parents as they transitioned from the hospital to home. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of families, including those welcoming premature babies, growing their families through adoption or surrogacy, and, most recently, caring for twins and multiples, a specialty that has become one of my most recent favorites. In 2021, I completed my training through Newborn Care Solutions to become a Newborn Care Specialist, allowing me to deepen my knowledge and provide even more comprehensive support to families. Then, in 2024, while working with a family on newborn sleep, I was given the opportunity to pursue my certification as a Postpartum Doula. After becoming certified, I retired from full-time nannying to dedicate my career exclusively to overnight postpartum care. My career and entrepreneurial journey have uniquely positioned me to support families beyond the traditional six-week postpartum period. Rather than offering short-term care, I work with families for 16 to 21 weeks. This extended support allows us to establish healthy newborn sleep habits from the very beginning while giving parents a trusted newborn guide they can rely on during one of the biggest transitions of their lives. My goal is to support your entire family, not just your baby. From your in-home newborn care and postpartum preparation class during pregnancy to my very last overnight, I am there to support your physical recovery, emotional well-being, and growing confidence as a parent. I don't believe my role ends when things become more challenging. Babies change quickly, and every stage brings new questions, new routines, and new adjustments. I want to walk alongside your family through those changes, helping you troubleshoot, adapt, and discover what works best for your unique home. When my time with your family comes to an end, my hope is that you don't feel overwhelmed or uncertain. Instead, I want you to feel rested, supported, educated, If you're looking for a postpartum doula who prioritizes your recovery while helping your baby build healthy sleep habits from the very beginning, I'd love to connect. I specialize in long-term support, partnering with families for a minimum of 16 weeks to create lasting routines and confidence.

Packages from $100 · $40/hr

Hi! My name is Annie Miller, I apprenticed under an elder doula in my area and have attended 14 births in the last 8 months. I believe that birth is sacred and the mother knows what’s best for her and the baby. I would be honored to support you and your family.

Recent review

Annie was an incredible support before, during, and after my birth! She met with my husband and I several times before my birth and ensured that we had the opportunity to share our desires and vision for the birth experience. She is empathetic and encouraging and always positive while also being realistic. She was the first member of my birth team we called when I went into labor and she came to our house promptly even though it was the middle of the night. From the minute she answered the phone I felt her calm and steady support. Once she arrived, she immediately jumped into action to support me with both verbal affirmations and hands-on work like hip squeezes and reminders to keep my muscles relaxed. She also encouraged my husband in his support of me and deftly gave him suggestions when he was unsure. (As this was our first baby, this was very reassuring for him, as neither he nor I had experienced birth before.) All throughout my long labor, Annie remained a stable, reassuring presence who helped me stay in the zone and always affirmed that I was strong and capable and was going to meet my baby soon! She and my husband were extremely hands on through the end of my pushing phase. Annie helped me get into different positions and used strategies to help me push more effectively. After my baby was born, Annie helped me to recover and clean up. She made me feel strong and beautiful as I came back to myself following birth. Throughout the whole birth, Annie was a great support and presence in encouraging me and jumping in without hesitation to help in whatever way she could. I highly recommend her as a doula!
