I am a former L&D nurse, who chose to be a doula so because laboring families deserve consistent, focused, support evidence-based information so they can best advocate for themselves during one of the most transformational times in their lives. Because of the challenges nurses face in hospital settings, I did not have the time or resources to provide this level of support to families. I started Womb to World Birth and Lactation Support Services so that I can use my years of clinical, training and business experiences to create a community that is respectful, supportive and empowering to families of all types. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. I am a mom with a lifelong passion for reproductive rights and gender equity, and have enjoyed being an advocate in many different settings. As my friends started having kids, and I went through my own pregnancy and birthing journey, I realized the powerful role that doulas play and the benefit of having continuous support for birthing people and their partners. I started reading and learning more about birth, taking childbirth education classes, and eventually completed full Doula and Lactation training with Community Aware Birthworker. When I’m not doula-ing, you can find me hiking, drinking tea, knitting, and soaking up snuggles with my husband and son. My first career is in public policy and I currently work as an environmental lobbyist. I graduated from Macalester College and have a Masters in Public Affairs from Indiana University.

I’m Paige and I’m a mom of 3. I spent most of my young adult life working with people with developmental disabilities. After that, I received my Sign Language Interpreting degree from Saint Paul College and worked with Deaf/Hard of Hearing folks before becoming a stay-at-home mom. I have spent the last several years raising my kids. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s my favorite job yet! Now it’s time for me to do what I really love: postpartum work! My partner is a longtime teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools and we have lived in the South Como neighborhood in Saint Paul for the last 15 years! As a family we enjoy camping, hiking and exploring our country’s beautiful national parks. It is not odd to find us hammocking up at Como park, picking mulberries and reading :) I enjoy running, gardening, reading and baking and hosting regular gatherings of family and friends.
