After facing health issues as a family in 2014, I left the more "western" mindset of medicine and began teaching classes on nutrition, emotional health, and holistic medicine. My journey began in 2014, after watching the documentary, The Business of Being Born. I was shocked at how medical and sterile birth had become and how unfairly some pregnant people are treated. From there, I spent the next three years devouring anything and everything related to birth. I attended my first birth as a doula (unknowingly) in 2017 when my goddaughter was born, and I fell in love with doula work. I married my husband in late 2017, and in early 2019 I found out I was pregnant with my first child. My pregnancy was one of the most enjoyable times of my life. I gave birth vaginally in a hospital transfer from Atlanta Birth Center, to Atlanta Medical Center in November 2019. I have my birth team to thank for solidifying my passion for other people to have the experience I was blessed with. ​I believe information is our greatest tool.
