I had such an amazing experience with Tamanno as my Doula. I was about 35 weeks and nearing the end of my pregnancy after a big move across states. I was overwhelmed trying to find a doula last minute , in a new state. I found Tamy through my insurance and we both Immediately found out that we were the right fit . I spoke about my birth story and what I was trying for. Tamy let me know her experience and how she would support me . She visited me in my home to meet and she made a very detailed birth plan for me. She also showed me the tools she uses to help with laboring. Such as : a labor comb, a ball and essential oils. She even purchased a eucalyptus oil for me, per my request. She went above and beyond before my labor and I felt supported and prepared before birth. Once labor started Tamy came to the hospital so fast. She made sure I was comfortable and all my needs were met and that the nurses and doctors were on the same page as me . She was there for every contraction holding my hand and fanning me. She massaged me and helped me labor in the tub, and helped me labor on the ball. I had a foley bulb for a few hours and even through the pain she took her time to talk to me and helped me not focus on the pain but the end goal. I felt so supported , heard and prepared with Tamanno as my Doula. She was so caring , understanding and nurturing . I labored for close to 36 hours and she was there for me every minute . Her communication is superb and she even helped my family who helped me and came to visit. I would recommend her a million times over . She will listen to your needs and make sure you get everything you ask for as long as its safe. She looks out for you and will speak up if she wants to suggest or recommend anything that will help you. You will not regret her services. I had a great birth experience because of Tamy. I hope she can be my doula for future pregnancies as well!

Jennifer Moore-Curtis

Hi, I'm Jennifer! I am thrilled to be a Co-Founder of Stateline BirthKeepers. I am a mother of 4 children, a certified EMT, a yoga instructor, and a homesteader. I have been working in the birthing world for the past 15 years as a birth doula since I received my training through DONA International in Chicago, IL, from some of the most amazing women. I am also our facilitator of the Closing of the Bones Ceremonies, a certified dancing for birth instructor, and a placenta encapsulation specialist. I provide other services such as Belly Casting, Rebozo techniques, Birth Photography and blessing way ceremonies. I accept no more than 2 birth doula clients each month, so you can rest easy. I can't wait to meet you and I look forward to assisting you on this journey to meeting your baby!

Jennifer was amazing and an essential part of my labor. I was becoming a new mom, and very nervous about what labor would bring. I was committed to an unmedicated labor and my goal was a water birth. With Jennifer by my side, I felt safe and secure despite the arduous task I was facing. My husband was there beside me, but he was as fearful as I was, if not more. Thankfully Jennifer knew how to keep me calm, but help me progress along. When my laboring slowed in the warm water, she had me exit the tub and got my husband involved with supporting my weight to sway back and forth in a squatting position and lower the baby into the birth canal. Jennifer knows how to manage various challenging circumstances that arise. My midwife was great, but I learned with a few labors that they are not very participatory throughout the labor. For this reason, having a doula in the process is extremely important, and Jennifer is well equipped to properly support a woman on her birthing journey.

I chose Northpointe for my birth experience because I was looking for personal care that supported me in embracing my body’s wisdom, yet was knowledgeable in determining if more medical intervention was needed. Every single staff member we interacted with was kind and supportive. We felt informed in our choices and taken care of throughout pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care. The midwives reminded me of my strength during times when I doubted myself. We felt seen and heard during our time at Northpointe. During birth, staff anticipated needs I didn’t even realize I had, and they did what they could to give me moments of comfort. I highly recommend this center for those who are looking into experiencing a vaginal birth without medication.

I'm writing this 14 months removed from having Jenny as my doula. I think about the trauma of my birth experience often which means thinking about Jenny often. Her strong advocacy of my needs, her unwavering support, and her creative techniques got me through the most scary yet most beautiful experience of my life. She is an incredible mother herself and supports other mothers with sage wisdom and tenderness. She will tell a nurse to back off if they overstep when she sees you are too vulnerable. She will talk you through making difficult choices with a measured firm love that only very special people can execute. I look at my son and know that we are both still here because of 3 things; 1. Several fiercely dedicated nurses 2. Whatever divinity exists that was looking out for my son and I 3. Jenny. The love for my son goes hand in hand with my love and appreciation for Jenny.

I am so relieved and happy that we chose Parul to be our doula. From our first contact, she was extremely responsive, clear, thorough, warm, and supportive in her communication with us. Her knowledge of the birthing process and preparation is unparalleled and i felt so much more confident going into my delivery with her by my side. At the hospital she was an amazing advocate who helped to ensure our birth plan was honored as closely as possible by our doctor. She was also a huge support during the birth when I needed some encouragement to keep pushing. She also spent a lot of time getting to know us personally which helped pass the time in the hospital. Overall I couldn’t recommend Parul more. When we prepare for our next baby I will definitely work with her again!

Every childbearing person deserves to feel supported, prepared, and unafraid as they navigate the wonders of pregnancy and childbirth. I’m both passionate and absolutely fascinated by this right of passage, and it is my highest privilege to guide others within their own birth stories. I became interested in childbirth education and birthwork when I was pregnant with our first baby. My partner and I attended a Bradley Method course kind of as a fluke, and it was life-changing. I did not realize how much I did not know! In addition to completing the Bradley Method course and experiencing the birth of my two children, I have worked in child and infant care for many years, including private nanny services, NatureSense Childcare Center, and The Madison Isthmus Montesorri Nedo (or nursery). I completed my Full Spectrum Doula Training, including prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum care, as well as training in fetal positioning and lactation support with Cornerstone Birthwork Training, and am certified in Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid through the Red Cross. I specialize in whole-food nutrition and dietary considerations for those with autoimmune disease and chronic illness. I live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Crohn’s Disease and have been developing and collecting recipes and home remedies for over 10 years! I’m an expert swaddler, baby bather, sleep wrangler, lullaby lilter, routine guru, space optimizing organizer, Story reader, and love to color and play Legos with kid siblings.

Leah was there for me 24/7 if I needed her or had a question, and has been 100% there for us from prenatal to postpartum. She kept me grounded and connected to what was happening to my body throughout my pregnancy and was knowledgeable about what I could do to help ease any pain or discomfort. Leah thoroughly prepared me for and guided me through each stage of labor and taught me how to recognize when it was time to go to the hospital. Leah offered so much support and reminded me that this is my pregnancy, my body, and while in the hospital, my voice is important. She made sure I understood that I had the right to ask questions and to say no at any point. She made me feel empowered. After our baby was born, Leah helped us feel confident in our abilities and has been an invaluable presence in our household for these first months. We are so happy to have had her by our side through this amazing experience.
