My passion now is to enter the journey with others and make sure they have the information and resources that they need to confidently make decisions for themselves. Birth is also a very vulnerable and major transition in life for both the birther and the partner. My role is to provide reassurance and emotional support to both! Helping you create a plan to come as close to your desired birth experience as possible is also on my list of to do’s. You may know what you want it to feel like but you’re not sure how to achieve that. I’m here to help! Whether you’re having a c-section, a med-free birth, a birth with pain medications, a home birth or a hospital birth, I’m happy to support those decisions and make it the best experience possible. My own journey involved an ambulance ride and a cesarean under general anesthesia, one misdiagnosed ectopic pregnancy a year later, and then three all natural hospital VBAC’s with a caring midwife and doula. Now that our family is complete, my passion is to help provide the same support that I was given, to women from all walks of life. I am certified through DONA International, the leader in evidence based doula training, have personally been trained by Gail Tully from Spinning Babies International, and I have served as a doula for over 80 families in northwest Ohio. After an eight year battle with infertility, including a full year of testing, medications, and numerous hospital visits, I started my own mom Journey. My husband was deployed to Iraq for the birth of our first child. I would have been all alone if it wasn’t for the close-knit military wives (and occasionally my mom who lived out of state) that encircled me during this precious time. If it wasn’t for these women loving on me and advising me before, during, and after my birth, I know it would not have been such a positive experience. I knew at once that I wanted to support and love other moms in the same manner. I started out supporting new moms by being a part of a group called MOPS. My husband returned from war and shortly after we were blessed with a second baby without all the fertility trials. I continued working with moms through the MOPS organization as we moved across the country to Colorado. It was there that I met a beautiful friend and fellow MOPS mentor who introduced me to being a doula. In 2020, after taking the 200hr course with 75hrs of clinical work I began my journey as a full spectrum doula. I absolutely love birth and postpartum work but quickly learned that I really shined on the postpartum side of birth work. I concentrated on obtaining my Newborn Care Specialist certification and Sleep Guide Certification to improve and round out my skills as a postpartum doula.
