I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about Alyssa. From the very beginning, she made me feel prepared, heard, and completely supported. She helped me create my birth plan, went over every detail with me beforehand, and truly took the time to understand the birth I wanted. She stayed on call with me while I labored at home, kept up with my contractions, and came straight to the hospital the moment I called her. She was there through every part of my labor. She helped me with different positions, including the rebozo sifting technique, which was one of my favorites and brought me so much relief. She even brought the rebozo herself, along with a comb to help redirect the pain, snacks, drinks, and headphones in case I needed them. What meant so much to me was how intentional she was about creating a calm, safe space for me to give birth. She dimmed the lights, kept the room peaceful and quiet, and made sure the environment felt exactly how I wanted it to. She also made sure my husband felt included and supported throughout the entire experience, which meant so much to both of us. When I was exhausted and overwhelmed, Alyssa became my voice. She helped me understand what the doctors were asking, advocated for me, and made sure my wishes were respected when I didn’t have the energy to speak for myself. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, don’t think I could have had the dream birth I wanted without her. She gave me comfort, strength, reassurance, and so much love during one of the most intense and beautiful moments of my life. At this point, I swear Alyssa basically delivered my baby herself 😂❤️. I am forever grateful for her and everything she did for me. If you’re considering a doula, I cannot recommend Alyssa enough. She is truly incredible at what she does, and I feel so lucky that she was part of such a special moment in my life. 🤍

Adrienne has become like a third parent to our family — indispensable during both the transition to life with our first child and again with our second. Her overnight care allowed me to get much-needed rest so I could regain my strength and be fully present during the day. Adrienne’s love for babies is obvious in everything she does: she’s meticulous and thoughtful (hand-washing and boiling bottles rather than relying on gadgets, emptying the diaper pail, prepping fruit) and even leaves helpful notes for us. She’s always punctual and professional while remaining warm and reassuring, which empowered me as a new parent. I can't speak highly enough about Shaniqua. She is warm, extremely knowledgeable, and puts you at total ease. Shaniqua was both my L&D doula and postpartum doula for my first born. Soulex the Doula has been incredible in mine and my child’s life. I wanted to leave a shining review but struggled even capturing the positive impact of my time with Soulex the Doula, in words. I really hope I do justice to what this time meant to me. Alexus post-partum doula support was life altering in the most vulnerable time I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had 2 children and only worked with Lex with my first born. Let me just say, her energy was deeply missed the second time around. I live in a different state now but at the time, Lex did SO MUCH. She helped with nursing, even in the middle of the night for my exclusively breast fed baby, she would stay over to make sure I had the most restful night I could. The baby would wake, and Lex would wake pick her up and latch her to my nipple while I rest, leaving me virtually undisturbed. Lex changed night diapers, and would rock my daughter back to sleep while I slept. During the day visits, Lex would take care of baby while I got time for ME. I could shower, get ready, and feel beautiful in such a strange time. Lex gave me support with getting back in connection with my body through movement with dance and stretching practices. I would have NEVER known this was meaningful work, otherwise. Lex also gave a lot of spiritual guidance and support as a medium while I was personally going through the shifts from new motherhood. She would clean my home, help me organize, or rearrange on a whim. It was nothing short of magical, and genuinely felt like I had a little fairy god mother around the house doing things without me even having to think about it - let alone lift a finger. The bond I watched her grow with my daughter at 4 months old was incredibly special. And now, as a 7 year old, they still stay in touch. We love you, Lex and you really feel like a part of the family for life. Thank you for you’re love, your care, your intention, your intuition, and your raw passion for what you do. We had every intention of hiring her as our nanny, but unfortunately our plans changed when my husband unexpectedly lost his job. Even though we weren’t able to move forward, I wanted to leave a review because our experience with her was excellent. From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, professional, and responsive. Communication was always prompt and easy, and she made a wonderful first impression when she came to meet our 3-month-old daughter. She was warm, gentle, and seemed like such a natural with babies. What really stood out was how seriously she takes childcare. She asked thoughtful questions about our daughter’s feeding schedule, nap routine, preferences, and overall care, which gave us so much confidence that she genuinely wanted to provide the best possible care. It was clear she is experienced, attentive, and truly invested in the well-being of the children she cares for. We were so excited to have found someone we felt completely comfortable trusting with our baby girl, and we’re disappointed that our circumstances prevented us from moving forward. We absolutely plan to keep in touch and hope to use her for babysitting or as our nanny in the future when the opportunity arises. I cannot thank her enough for the incredible support she provided during my birth at Northside Hospital! Since I hired her quite late in my pregnancy around 37 or 38 weeks, we only had time for one long virtual prenatal visit, but she completely stepped up. Within just a few days, she supplied me with so many helpful handouts and information, including great resources for postpartum planning. I was really struggling to afford a doula since it isn't covered by my insurance, and the fact that she provided her care for free was a massive blessing.She was always personally available whenever I needed her by text or call. She answered all of my questions and was completely honest if there was something she didn't know, which I really appreciated. What I loved most was how comfortable I felt with her. We are close in age and knew each other previously, so there was absolutely zero judgment. She phrased medical things in a way that was so easy to understand.She was also incredibly thoughtful and culturally responsive; when I explained that I have trauma from past OBGYN experiences and felt uncomfortable with certain language, she immediately adjusted her wording to make me feel safe. We even hit a few hiccups with the medical staff during my time at the hospital, and she was right there by my side helping me through every single one of them. She is building a wonderful practice, and her dedication and honesty make her an absolutely great birthworker. She was perfect for me!

Lauren is amazing! She helped me build my birth plan and was able to bring her own experience and knowledge to help me make educated decisions. I ended up having to be medically induced early, and she talked through my birth plan with me again and helped me make adjustments. Day of, it was SO helpful to have her in the room to talk through decisions because the midwife was giving recommendations to change my birth plan, and it was so helpful to have a third party person who was educated in L&D to be able to talk this through with and come to the best conclusion for me. In the midst of giving birth, she was so helpful, attending to our every need. Because we had met ahead of time and she really took the time to get to know my goals and desires, she was able to advocate for me. I had precipitous labor, so things escalated quickly. At one point, my midwife asked me a question about pain meds that needed an immediate response. I was mid-contraction and unable to speak, but Lauren jumped in with no hesitation and communicated exactly what I wanted to say! She was also able to help keep my husband calm and engaged during our baby’s birth, and even he said he was so thankful Lauren was there with us! I would definitely hire her again and recommend her to anyone interested in hiring a doula!
