Meredith Ashton

Meredith is a certified birth doula, postpartum doula, certified women’s hormone specialist, cycle + fertility coach, menstruation educator, and mother to three amazing kids, ages 7, 5 and 3. She loves everything about the menstrual cycle–hormones, menstruation, fertility, birth, postpartum, and menopause. She loves teaching women (and families) how to use their cycle to balance their lives (and their hormones) and accomplish their goals for growing their family, or not. But Birth has a special place in Meredith’s heart. She came to birth work on a Thursday afternoon driving home from her Human Resources job. She was complaining about her job to her sister and her sister’s response was, “you should go be a Doula”. What’s a Doula? After her sister explained what a Doula does, a voice inside of her said, “I was born to do that”. She was in Doula training the next month and she has never looked back. She loves being with families and witnessing their growth and transformation as they move through the birth and postpartum process. Meredith excels at supporting families through natural/unmedicated birth both in and out of the hospital, and a lot of her clients have great results from her support in delaying medication so that it supports their labor rather than hinders it. Meredith is passionate about families knowing their options, preparing well, and tapping into the spiritual nature of the birth process to create an empowering experience. Additionally, she excels at assisting families to set up healthy rhythms for maximized nighttime sleep, feeding and bonding postpartum.

Meredith is an amazing doula! She assisted with our birth and my husband and I felt that we would have been lost without her. She maintained boundaries/wishes, was super knowledgeable and provided such a calming presence and emotional support! She had a great sense of humor and really added positivity to our birth experience.

This will probably be my most favorite review that I’ll ever write. Where do I even begin? It was rather serendipitous how Khristen and I met; She had contacted me to groom her dog Moki, and we automatically clicked. Right away when you meet Khristen you’re just like “YES!” Her spirit is infectious and you sense a genuine soul right away. When she told me how passionate she was about her field I felt it was meant to be since I had been praying for a Dula! For my husband and I, choosing Khristen as our Dula was the single best choice we could have made for our family. Almost a year later and I am still stumbling over her kindness, hand written cards and diaper rash creams galore! She is just the best. She was passionate about her vocation right away and her consistency throughout was just so refreshing especially considering her role was and is so vital. Being a first time mom I didn’t know what to expect when trying to deliver but I was automatically put at ease with how much knowledge Khristen had acquired and her endless experiences with being a mother herself in general gave us so much peace. When our desired plans changed and we found ourselves looking at a C-Section still Khristen was still on top of her game. Giving us pamphlets on anything we could think of and constantly going above and beyond to help with additional concerns and questions had throughout the remainder of the pregnancy Khristen never stopped diligently answering and seeking resolution. Not only was Khirsten so wonderful during pregnancy but she was also just as attentive and crucial postpartum. She helped us endlessly with laundry and cleaning, to food and delivery, she really just served as such a foundational piece to complete our what should have been stressful newborn journey and facilitated it like the super hero pregnancy personal assistant of our dreams. We really can’t stress enough how grateful we are to have had Khristen as a coach and support system during such an important time in our lives. She’s just one of a kind, beautiful hearted, genuine and irreplaceable. Thank you so much for everything, Khristen! We love you so much! 🩷🩷🩷

Carrie Nader

Hey Mama! I am so glad you are here! Congratulations on the start of your new, wonderful, beautiful journey that is Motherhood! A little about me: I am a certified birth doula, wife, and a mother to 3 amazing kiddos! Michael (6), Julia (4) and Damien (2). Becoming a mother, along with witnessing the birth of my niece was the reason I wanted to become a doula. There is so much I wish I would have known when i was pregnant with my first born and so I am passionate about informing moms of their choices and helping them navigate pregnancy and birth. Whether you want to go natural, are open to some interventions or have a planned c-section, my goal is to help you through this amazing journey. Being a third time mom I decided that this time around I'd benefit from having a coach since it would be my first time with an unmedicated birth. I was grateful for Carrie's professional advice and approachable attitude in our first meeting. She made sure I knew all expectations up front and supported my decisions. We share the same Catholic faith and I appreciated all of her prayers for me and the baby before and after birth but especially during! There were a lot of new terms that I was learning and she guided me through decisions when I needed more information about issues such as delayed cord clamping and different methods for pain management. We met twice before the day I gave birth. One time was meeting with my husband as well so he knew how they could partner together to help me. The next with a more hands on appraoch of pain management techniques. Her patience was truly admirable checking in with me daily starting around my due date and going through the next 2 weeks while baby boy had us waiting! She made sure that I knew about her back up doula and that vice versa her doula knew about my preferences in case something was to come up. The early morning my contractions started I gave her a heads up an hour after they were consistent. She planned to come to our home asap around 7am when I was already in active labor. From that point on, she was with me every single contraction with hip squeezes to relieve my all encompassing back labor! She provided a birthing comb for a distraction technique along with ice packs. I truly believe she was a key factor in how I was able to manage an unmedicated birth with a 9lb 14oz baby boy! I would hire her all over again to help with any future births.
