Howdy! My name is Aniya, and I am a certified faith-based doula and photographer! From a young age, I felt called to support families in birth, initially dreaming of becoming a labor and delivery nurse—until a home birth video shifted everything, revealing that my true path was midwifery. I’m dedicated to assisting mothers and their families through the transformative experience of childbirth. I emphasize and provide emotional, physical, and informational support to ensure a positive birthing experience. My mission is to empower mothers, promote informed decision-making, and cultivate a nurturing environment that respects individual choices and preferences. Please reach out with any questions! Anyia is amazing! While preparing for labor, she made multiple visits to my house and reached out continually to check in. She was quick to respond to text and phone calls and got to the hospital just after an hour after being admitted. From the moment labor began, she was such an incredible source of support, encouragement, and comfort. She was with me through approximately 14 hours of natural labor, helping me navigate contractions, offering encouragement, and reminding me that I was capable even during the hardest moments. When things didn’t go exactly as I had planned and I ultimately decided to get an epidural, she continued to support me without judgment and made sure I felt just as cared for. AND stayed with us for another 12 hours after getting the epidural. Although my birth experience didn’t look exactly how I had envisioned it, I have absolutely no regrets, and I feel so blessed that Anyia was part of our journey. Birth is unpredictable, and having someone by your side who is knowledgeable, compassionate, reassuring, and genuinely invested in your experience makes such a difference. I am so thankful for the role she played in bringing our sweet girl into the world. If you’re considering hiring a doula, I wholeheartedly recommend Anyia. You will be in such good hands!

This is honestly a difficult review to write… not because there is any shortage of reasons to praise Cherish, but because no amount of it can truly do justice to explaining just how meaningful her presence was in my journey from pregnancy through childbirth. As a headstrong person intent on going about a “natural” birth within the healthcare system, I knew I wanted to have a doula to help campaign for me, to provide me support and tools through one of the most vulnerable and raw processes a woman can go through. I interviewed many doulas, and while many seemed qualified on paper, I just knew something was missing. Then as fate would have it, I came across Cherish. We had an initial call to discuss the variety of services she offered. Already then, speaking with her felt natural, like meeting someone who you knew could be a friend. It was easy to sense that she genuinely cared, and exuded passion (and compassion). We had meetings and check-ins throughout my pregnancy, to discuss logistics such as my birth plan, generalities like how I was feeling and how certain tests went, as well as address more spiritual matters like my feelings around becoming a mom or subconscious fears that were surfacing for me. Every time I was filled with awe and gratitude for the perfect alignment of her complete holistic support that I knew I had been seeking all along. To make matters more complicated, I went over my due date and with each passing day, my doctor (and the healthcare system) started to tout medical fear mongering to push me into an induction that I knew I did not want/need to do. After every check-up, Cherish and I would connect to logically discuss from a place of knowledge and trust. It was not simply “We are not inducing”, but rather “We are trusting all positive signs of the monitoring and taking an educated stance on it not being medically necessary at this time.” To make a long story short, at 41 weeks and 6 days I finally gave birth to the most perfect, healthy and beautiful baby girl. There was no epidural, no cascade of interventions, no “emergency c section”. If it were not for Cherish’s support, I have no doubt my story could have gone very differently. Instead, when I think about my labor, even with all the variables I could not control for (and that is childbirth at the end of the day), I feel like I had as perfect of an experience as I could have wished for. Not because it was without its share of complexity, but because I truly felt I was in the best hands. Cherish’s presence carried me through every minute of labor’s pain and challenges. I wanted my labor to be intimate with just my partner and myself, and having Cherish did not distract from that in any way. (She had also met my partner in advance of my labor to provide him with tools to help support me in the process.) I ultimately felt more comfortable with her presence in my delivery room than I would have been with my own family. She truly has a place in my heart for life, and there is no question that if I were to go through this process again, I would hope (and be so lucky!) for Cherish to again be by my side.

I had the privilege of working with Sasha as my doula during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. I cannot express enough gratitude for her exceptional support. From the very beginning, Sasha demonstrated a level of professionalism, compassion, and expertise that truly made a difference in my birthing experience. During my pregnancy, Sasha was a constant source of knowledge and reassurance. She took the time to understand my unique needs and concerns, providing me with evidence-based information and guidance that helped me make informed decisions. Her ability to listen attentively and offer non-judgmental support created a safe space for me to express my fears and anxieties. When it came time for the birth, Sasha's presence was invaluable. Her calm demeanor and unwavering support helped me confidently navigate the intense moments. She provided physical comfort measures, emotional encouragement, and continuous reassurance, ensuring I felt empowered and in control throughout the process. Sasha's expertise in various birthing techniques, such as positioning, proved incredibly helpful in promoting progress. But Sasha's support didn't end with the birth. During the postpartum period, she remained a pillar of strength and guidance. She offered practical assistance with newborn care and emotional well-being. Her genuine care and understanding made transitioning from two to three children smoother and less overwhelming. Overall, Sasha's dedication to her role as a doula is commendable. Her knowledge, professionalism, and unwavering support were instrumental in making my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience positive and empowering. I wholeheartedly recommend Sasha to any expectant mother seeking a compassionate and skilled doula who will go above and beyond to ensure a memorable and fulfilling journey into parenthood.

Right out of the gate we knew Malorie would be a great fit for our needs. She was very informative, non-judgemental and maintained a calm, reassuring demeanor throughout the entire process. Malorie's support and education leading up to the delivery was an invaluable resource to us. During times of uncertainty, Malorie's unwavering guidance and confidence in us really paved the way for us to have an informed and healthy delivery. Our educational sessions were critical in making us feel confident about the whole process, as well as informed but not stressed about potential risks. She took the time to answer all of our questions, both during our sessions, as well as over text/phone calls. She checked in on us regularly throughout the pregnancy, making us feel listened to and valued.  Throughout the labor and delivery she was a very reassuring and calming presence in the room with us, providing encouragement and helpful strategies to give us the best experience possible at the hospital. Malorie worked alongside hospital staff to advocate for Stephanie's preferences, including working through different positioning during labor, as well as ensuring skin to skin was a priority post delivery. We felt she went above and beyond our expectations to be there at the hospital with us, and advocate for mom and baby.  In post-partum, Malorie was one of our loudest cheerleaders. She checked in on us regularly, helped us adjust to parenthood and provide us with tips for caring for our newborn. She helped us find confidence in some of our most vulnerable moments, and always made sure our family was healthy both physically and mentally. If we ever require Doula services in the future, we wouldn't hesitate to approach Malorie.

When I found out I was pregnant I knew absolutely nothing about pregnancy or giving birth, but Elissa gave me all the information and support I needed to feel confident and ready. Through our meetings and conversations throughout my pregnancy I felt so at ease knowing I had her In my corner. She's extremely knowledgeable, comforting, and reliable. She came to my house to help me through early stages of labor, and eventually met me at the hospital. She set up my hospital room for me to create such a peaceful space, and made sure my care team knew my birth plan. It made all the difference knowing she would be my advocate, so I was able to focus solely on myself and getting through labor. She helped me through every round of contractions, and to this day I can still hear her voice reminding me of my strength. She visited me a few weeks after giving birth, and I knew if I had any questions I could always go to her. I am so thankful for her, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone and everyone.
