Hello my name is Arlena Spruill also know as the Sapphire Doula. I am a DONA International Birth Doula. I believe that providing doula services to expecting families is not a want but a necessity. I have been a doula for a year and a half and have serviced 15 families. I hope to service many more and hope to grow awareness and acceptance of doulas in all birth spaces. I am mother of 2 beautiful children both were vaginal births. One was an encaul birth that my husband had the honor of catching her with the midwife's assistance which was so beautiful. Because of my two births and having my late mother present at all of them providing what I didn't know at the time was Doula support. I decided that I needed to do the same for other mothers and that began my journey to becoming a doula.
