I am a second-generation doula with a passion for supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! I am a trained as a birth doula through DONA International, and am certified for postpartum care through DNT Network. I am also privileged to be apart of the wonderful team at Leilani’s Wellness Center and Breastfeeding Fixers. With an undergrad in Early Childhood Development, I combine my educational background (I am a huge nerd!) and passion (with a huge heart!) to provide gentle guidance and care.

I’ve always been a doula, a giver, a sister, a person to lean on. I love all aspects of what I do, whether it’s physically holding hips or emotionally holding space. Within my practice I try to achieve a 50:50 balance of the spiritual, energetic with the scientific, evidence-based. I have attended many births in various settings - homebirths, birth centers and hospitals. I actively attend workshops, courses and continuing education classes on childbirth, hypnobirthing, spinning babies, breastfeeding, postpartum, newborn care and holding space for pregnancy loss. I fully believe that all pregnant persons have an innate inner-knowing that is a powerful guide through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I fell in love with all things birth when I became pregnant with my 1st child in 2008. As an avid reader and researcher, I made it my goal to learn everything I possibly could about the biology and physiology of birth, and how to have optimal health during and after pregnancy for both me and my baby. Like many first-time moms I have worked with, I had hesitations about giving birth to my 1st baby outside of a hospital setting. After all my research, classes, and conversations with midwives, I gained confidence in aiming for an unmedicated birthing experience. I found some lovely midwifes who had a midwifery ward in a hospital and gave birth to my 1st son unmedicated. Twenty-four hours of intense back labor from a posterior-positioned baby …but, I did it! My body actually did it! After birthing my first, statistically knowing it was the most challenging and longest labor, gave me confidence to choose home births for my second and third children. I had a successful home water birth with my second child and wanted to repeat that with my third. However, while laboring on the toilet with him, I suddenly dropped to my knees when he began to crown, and he became known as my bathroom floor “butter birth” baby :). Though I chose unmedicated births for myself, I do know it is not for everyone, which is more than OK! I quickly learned from my role as a doula that every woman’s body, medical history, and background are uniquely different. Many factors play into choosing the right birth for you. I am here to come alongside you, help you make an informed decision, and then support you every step of the way. I offer very personable and compassionate care. My approach is non-agenda-based, trauma-informed, and holistic-minded. No matter your history or past experiences, I am here to be a safe place for you. Hello 🧡 My name is Priscilla and I am bilingual in spanish. I majored in Human Services with the intention of assisting mothers. I am also trauma informed. Having a Bachelors led me into becoming a certified Lactation Counselor. Hearing my mothers stories from their birth trauma, experiences within the medical system, has led me to receive my doula certification in order to be a better asset to service my families. I decided to take the Doula workshop under DONA due hearing my previous prenatal and postpartum clients stories. My desire is to come along families in order to assist them with the birth they desire from providing information and support for their birth journey. I have six years being in the home visiting program (my career), over a decade in the mental health space and currently working towards my International Board Certification Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification.

My journey to becoming a mother was not easy. I had two very different and difficult births that taught me a lot about myself and the challenges of childbirth. My first birth was a long and exhausting labor that ended in an emergency cesarean. I felt scared, helpless, and disappointed that I couldn’t have the natural birth I wanted. My second birth was a planned cesarian, I felt unprepared, anxious, and overwhelmed by the intensity of the experience and felt guilty for not trying to deliver naturally. Both of my births left me feeling traumatized and in need of healing. ​ These experiences made me realize that there is a gap in the traditional healthcare system when it comes to supporting mothers during birth. I felt that I didn’t get enough information, education, or emotional support from my providers, and that I had to advocate for myself and my baby. I decided to become a doula to fill that gap and to help other mothers have a better birth experience. As a doula, I offer personalized and continuous support to mothers before, during, and after birth. I help them prepare for their birth, cope with their pain, communicate with their providers, and celebrate their achievements. I want every mother to feel empowered, respected, and joyful during their birth.

Azure is a Southern California native with a deep commitment to supporting women and families through pregnancy and birth. Motivated by her belief in the blessing of every new life, she began her academic journey at UCLA with plans to become an OB/GYN. After graduation, she volunteered in labor and delivery units and worked in medical offices, where she gained valuable experience while also recognizing gaps in care — particularly for Black women. That realization led her to become a doula, where she supported her very first client through a successful vaginal birth after three cesareans. This experience deepened her commitment to advocacy and highlighted the need for care models that offer more informed and personalized support. Seeking to expand her knowledge and scope of care, Azure pursued midwifery. She is currently a third year student midwife at the National Midwifery Institute. She is committed to providing compassionate, informed, and culturally grounded care, and views birth as a transformative experience that deserves respect, intention, and support. Azure is especially passionate about honoring ancestral traditions in birth work, studying botanical medicine, and improving maternal health outcomes within her community. Hello Families! I am a full spectrum perinatal care worker specializing in lactation and postpartum doula support. I am certified as a lactation counselor from UCSD and a DONA trained Doula. I believe in providing evidence based care while integrating holistic methods that have been passed down between women for generations. I began working with women and children in 2011 as the Executive Director of The Live Well Project. From there I took my passion abroad and lived in Nepal for 6 months working with local families and learning first hand how they supported birthing mothers.
