I've also completed Hypnobabies Academy's online Hypnobirthing course. Additional influences for me as a birthworker include Ina May Gaskin, Dr. Rebecca Dekker (Evidence-Based Birth), Our Bodies, Ourselves, Liam Kali (Maia Midwifery & Fertility), Sabia Wade (Birthing Liberation) and Prentis Hemphill (What It Takes to Heal) I am a white, upper-middle class, well-educated out lesbian woman and part of the disability community. My interests besides birthwork include architecture and design, enjoying western Massachusetts and the San Francisco Bay Area's beautiful natural landscapes, and quality time with people and animals I love. Authenticity flows through my birthwork and enhances my capacity to understand and connect with people.
