Camille La Rocca-Carrillo

In May of 2022 Camille became a certified Labor Doula and then added a certification in Postpartum and Infant Care in February of 2023. Working with Camille was such a blessing. She sat down with me to learn about my desires for birth but also had questions to get to know me better so she could truly support me in the ways I needed. She also had great resources for both me and my birth partner which were so helpful since this was my first pregnancy. She checked in towards the end of my pregnancy but never in an annoying way. You could tell she was genuinely wanting to make sure I was doing okay and making decisions I was comfortable with. During labor she walked right into the room and immediately started comforting me. She set out my affirmation cards, massaged my hands after I had to get my iv redone, she held essential oils up to my nose as I experienced nausea and she helped my nurses move me into different positions in bed. Once I was in active labor and was pushing I remember hearing her words of encouragement but it was subtle so that I could also feel the presence and support of my mom who was in the room as well. Camille did a wonderful job of being there for me while also supporting the team of people around me. I felt very taken care of and I am forever grateful for that presence!

As first-time parents, my husband and I knew we wanted support navigating the unknowns of pregnancy, labor, and birth. We met Georgia during my second trimester, and selected to work with her. What stood out most was her depth of knowledge and practical guidance provided in preparing for an unmedicated birth. I had hoped for an unmedicated hospital birth, and with her support I was able to achieve it! Even when we faced an unexpected gestational diabetes diagnosis and the decision to schedule an induction, Georgia helped us feel informed, validated and confident in our decisions. During our prenatal visits (plus many texts, calls, and shared Notes app lists), she was generous with her time and incredibly thorough. She also helped my husband feel prepared and confident in his role as a birth partner, helping him prepare to support me physically and emotionally during labor. From weeks 37–40 (and beyond if needed), Georgia was on call and fully available. When the time came, she joined us at the hospital for my induction and was a constant source of support through labor: with hands-on comfort techniques and tools, guidance, and strong advocacy. She has a calm and gentle presence, but she is also a powerful advocate and was truly impressive when communicating with both healthcare providers and family members during critical moments. From shaping my birth preferences to postpartum support (including holding my baby so I could take care of a few things around the house), Georgia was exceptional through every stage. I would absolutely work with her again for future births and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and empowering doula.

I used Magnolia Moon Doula Services as a virtual doula for my child’s birth at the end of 2023. The support Josie provided was integral to my positive birth experience. The prenatal visit was so helpful for thinking through my birth plan. Josie also gave really useful information that I’d not received elsewhere. Being able to text and call Josie during labor with questions to help my labor progress gave me peace of mind, and she also reminded me of tools and practices I could ask the hospital for. It was a truly positive experience that cemented the importance of doulas for me. It was so helpful to have Magnolia Moon Doula Services walk with me through the preparation and birth experience, and I cannot recommend Josie more highly.

I’m a certified birth and postpartum doula serving the Corvallis area. Bonnie-you’re what I picture as a TRUE midwife. Not lingering and bothering and following. Don’t get me wrong though every person’s presence disrupts the birth in some way- and I was caught off guard had I not met you. But you making my kids waffles and just occupying my kids at times is what I picture as being a true midwife and the help up to go to the bathroom. Even though I had never met you I felt safer with you than the medwives who I’ve met many times and attended my birth. Although my birth was not an actual physiological home birth, and my needs were disrespected by everyone else and was completely ruined by the medwives and the worst experience of my life, You’re exactly what I’d want in an actual midwife for a home birth and what I wanted my experience to be and I think if you ever started offering non medicalized attendance some women would appreciate that. I won’t be having any type of birth attendants next time or ever again since it’d be way to triggering for me but I did appreciate you and my daughter still talks about that nice DR lady with the axolotl 😌(I know it’s hard to find traditional midwives and birth keepers in this area. Unfortunately mine had moved to far away and all the other ones I found were in the occult but now I’m thinking that’s common for licensed ones as well) and I’d totally recommend you for those who want non medical support if you switch from ‘doula’ to wanting to be traditional and just a true ‘with woman’ presence near by.
