Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a doula, birth photographer, and placenta encapsulation specialist proudly serving the Chicagoland area. I grew up in small town Kentucky and moved to Chicago five years ago. Since then, I’ve been deeply rooted in the birth world, supporting families through every stage of their journey. I’m a full spectrum certified doula through Sokana’s Full Spectrum Birth Justice Training, with extensive education in lactation and over four years of personal breastfeeding experience. I’m also certified in First Aid and CPR. I accept Carrot clients and will soon be accepting Medicaid, because I believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, personalized support. That’s also why I offer sliding scale payment options for those in need. I’m also able to bill insurances with a superbill using my NPI number. My approach blends evidence based care with a holistic touch, holding space for whatever birth looks like for you. Outside of birth work, I’m chasing around my two toddlers, trying new recipes, camping, fishing, and checking out new restaurants! I never say no to a good steakhouse. Let’s schedule a consult and see if I am a great fit for your birth team!

Having Rachel on my birth team was the best decision I could have made. She was a rock for me throughout, and was such a source of peace and calm for me. Rachel valued my preferences for my birth plan without judgment and held true to advocating for me at all times. My birth story had many unexpected turns, and Rachel stayed by my side, along with my husband, for the wild ride. I had Rachel with me in the birth center and at the hospital after a transfer was needed. She never missed a beat and took care of me so thoughtfully. From the first interview to prenatal appointments to the actual birth of my first baby, Rachel kept looking out for me and helped me feel empowered throughout my birth journey. She even took pictures and helped transport my placenta for encapsulation, which was so helpful because we remained at the hospital for longer than expected. I felt like Rachel was one of the best parts of my birth story, and I know she would be a wonderful addition to any birth team!

Hi! I am a trauma-informed, healing-centered, and evidence-based fertility, birth, and postpartum doula with over seventeen years of experience providing client-centered, queer and trans affirming care, advocacy, and education in various public health settings. As a Full-Spectrum Birth Worker since 2014, I provide informational, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical support during the entire perinatal period. I draw on both evidence-based research and traditional wisdom to support my clients. In addition to labor support, my expertise includes teaching people the Fertility Awareness Method to create and prevent pregnancies, providing education and support for donor insemination (ICI and IUI), helping clients select care providers that align with their values, supporting people struggling with infertility and perinatal loss, providing postpartum care and lactation support, and providing education on newborn and infant care. As a Certified Reiki Practitioner, Intuitive Energy Healer, Yoga Nidra facilitator, and Sexual and Reproductive Health Educator, I bring a holistic lens to my work. I am deeply committed to reproductive justice and birth justice, and I believe in providing clients with all the information they need to make informed choices that are right for them. Doula clients appreciate my extensive knowledge and experience, and my ability to provide comprehensive, holistic, ongoing support, education, and guidance not just during their labor and birth, but throughout the perinatal period. My approach to doula care is to meet people where they are at, centering their needs and goals, and customizing my approach to best meet my clients’ unique needs for their bodies, babies, and family.

Parul was absolutely amazing and a vid send for me during my pregnancy. She was always quick to answer her phone whenever I had a question or concern, she was incredibly supportive especially when it came to giving me questions to help me be more assertive in my questions and dealings with my doctors where before I was frustrated constantly, and never made me feel like my emotions or concerns were too much. She truly listened and took everything I was feeling seriously. What meant the most to me was how she held space for our son we previously lost the year prior and understood that bringing another baby into our lives came with a lot of anxiety, fear, and emotions. She has been such a comforting and reassuring presence throughout this journey. We are so grateful we had Parul by our side and would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who genuinely cares and makes you feel supported every step of the way!

JulieAnn worked with our family as a night nurse for our baby Cindy from birth to 10 weeks. She was reliable, gentle with our baby, and provided helpful support during the newborn stage. I was able to sleep fully sound knowing our baby was in good hands. We appreciated her assistance during those early weeks as we adjusted to life with a new baby!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Huddle when we were seeking a night nurse. From the beginning, Jessica’s professionalism, responsiveness, and clear communication immediately gave us confidence in our decision to hire her. She was warm, reliable, knowledgeable, and incredibly caring with our newborn. Jessica’s background as a nurse practitioner was especially reassuring as we were monitoring our 3 week old for potential illness. She was attentive to every detail, excellent at soothing and settling him, and genuinely caring with both our newborn and our older toddler. One thing we especially appreciated was the detailed log Jessica sent us every morning documenting feeds, sleep, diaper changes, and how the night went. It allowed us to wake up feeling completely informed and like we hadn’t missed a beat overnight, while still getting the rest we desperately needed. Jessica is also simply wonderful to have in your home. She is calm, kind, easy to talk to, and supportive without ever being overbearing. We always felt our baby was in extremely capable hands and are so grateful we found her. We would wholeheartedly recommend Huddle to any family looking for trustworthy, highly experienced, and compassionate night nurse services.

I'm writing this 14 months removed from having Jenny as my doula. I think about the trauma of my birth experience often which means thinking about Jenny often. Her strong advocacy of my needs, her unwavering support, and her creative techniques got me through the most scary yet most beautiful experience of my life. She is an incredible mother herself and supports other mothers with sage wisdom and tenderness. She will tell a nurse to back off if they overstep when she sees you are too vulnerable. She will talk you through making difficult choices with a measured firm love that only very special people can execute. I look at my son and know that we are both still here because of 3 things; 1. Several fiercely dedicated nurses 2. Whatever divinity exists that was looking out for my son and I 3. Jenny. The love for my son goes hand in hand with my love and appreciation for Jenny.

Shauna will be with me for every birth! As a FTM I don’t think I could have done it without her. Her care transformed my birth story. During pregnancy she was constantly checking in on me. During labor, her support got me through the toughest back contractions and 54 hours of labor. The best part of having Shauna on my team was the postpartum support. She again was constantly checking in on me and baby. She answered all of my questions with care and love. You want Shauna on your side!
