Emily Christine J.

I’m Emily. I love working as a full spectrum doula, helping empower moms to give birth with confidence, recover confidently and be the amazing moms they already are. Compassion and empathy are two of my greatest strengths and I have a passion for providing emotional support for women as they go through one of the most life changing seasons they will ever experience. I grew up in Placerville, California and moved in 2022 to Lexington, South Carolina where I now live with my parents, one sister and three adorable cats. I grew up helping take care of my aging grandparents. We were always serving them in some capacity whether it was entertaining my grandpa with dementia by working on a puzzle with him, cleaning up the kitchen, or chopping up fallen tree branches on the property. When I am not working I love to volunteer to serve at church, sing in the choir, paint, and cuddle with my kitties. I also enjoy spending time with my family and with my best friend John who, like me, has high functioning autism. We enjoy getting to know each other’s quirks and understanding things about each other that most people wouldn’t get. Words are not his strength, but I enjoy learning to use my emotional intelligence skills to read through the lines when he can’t put what he means into words. Being that person that can understand him in a way most people can’t means the world to me. These are some of the things that have kindled my passion to work as a doula. Seeing people’s physical and relational and emotional needs and doing the absolute best I can to fulfill them brings me joy and satisfaction that I am doing what I do best and using my unique skills to be a blessing to other people and to glorify God who gave me these skills!

As a full-spectrum doula, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive support throughout the entire reproductive journey. This holistic approach encompasses various phases of pregnancy, childbirth, loss, and postpartum care, ensuring that every individual or couple feels empowered and supported no matter where they are on their path. My training and experience equip me to offer emotional, physical, and informational guidance tailored to each client’s unique needs. I believe that every experience surrounding childbirth and family growth can be met with compassion, respect, and understanding. In my practice, I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where my clients can express their feelings, ask questions, and explore their options freely. From prenatal education and labor support to navigating complexities around miscarriage and postpartum recovery, I am here to provide reassurance and advocacy. I aim to foster a partnership that honors the choices of my clients, helping them to cultivate a sense of empowerment and confidence throughout their journey. Whether guiding them through joyful moments or offering solace in times of loss, my commitment is to be a steady presence and a reliable resource. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of providing virtual birth and postpartum services that prioritize the well-being of both parents and newborns. By leveraging technology, I have facilitated prenatal classes, offered emotional support, and provided educational resources to expectant parents from the comfort of their homes. My approach emphasizes a compassionate, personalized experience that ensures parents feel informed and empowered during this transformative time. The feedback I have received highlights my ability to create a supportive environment, enabling families to navigate the challenges of birth and postpartum with confidence. In addition to direct support, I have crafted tailored programs that address specific needs, such as postpartum recovery, infant care, and mental health. By utilizing video conferencing and online resources, I have maintained ongoing relationships with families, helping them adjust and thrive in their new roles. Each interaction reinforces my commitment to fostering resilience, nurturing bonds, and ensuring a smooth transition into parenthood. My experiences have not only enhanced my skills but also deepened my understanding of the diverse journeys that parents embark on, making me a dedicated ally in their parenting journey. As a full-spectrum doula, I find immense joy in supporting birthing mothers and postpartum families throughout their unique journeys. Each experience is different, yet there’s a magical thread that ties them all together—the incredible strength and resilience of women. From the moment I step into a birthing room, I can feel the expectations, hopes, and dreams that surround the arrival of a new life. Witnessing this intimate moment is not just a job for me; it feels like an honor to be welcomed into such a sacred space. Building relationships with these mothers is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. I am constantly inspired by their stories, their preparations, and their desires to create a loving environment for their children. Each mother brings a unique perspective and set of experiences, which enriches my own understanding of motherhood and the birthing process. I love hearing about their goals and fears, and I cherish the trust they place in me during such a vulnerable time. The postpartum period is equally rewarding as I support mothers in their transition to nurturing both themselves and their little ones. I see the challenges they face, from sleepless nights to balancing self-care with caring for a newborn. I witness their triumphs, too, as they embrace their new roles and develop a bond with their babies. Being able to provide guidance, reassurance, and practical help during this time brings me immense satisfaction, knowing I can contribute to their journey towards wellness. Reflecting on my role, I realize that being a doula is about more than just physical support; it’s about being an emotional anchor. The privilege of walking alongside these extraordinary women and helping them navigate one of life’s most profound moments fills me with gratitude. Each birth story is a testament to the strength of mothers, and it’s an honor that brings purpose to my life. I look forward to continuing this journey, feeling blessed to share in these incredible experiences with birthing and postpartum mothers.
