My name is Maggie Mau, and I am a mom of two girls and two very sweet rescue pups, Hopper and Eleven. My partner is a longtime teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools and we have lived in the South Como neighborhood in Saint Paul for the last 15 years! As a family we enjoy camping, hiking and exploring our country’s beautiful national parks. It is not odd to find us hammocking up at Como park, picking mulberries and reading :) I enjoy running, gardening, reading and baking and hosting regular gatherings of family and friends. I have been in the Twin Cities nonprofit sector my whole career, and the passion that I feel for the success of individuals and families in our community is now being carried forward in a different, but equally important way – through the support and empowerment of families as they navigate their birth journeys. I believe in leading with empathy and deep listening, in order to best support families to create their own powerful birth experiences. I feel humbled and honored to be able to share space and offer support to you - the amazing parents and parents to be!

I offer childbirth education, postpartum doula support, and photography services to guide families through the different stages of parenthood. By tapping into my training as a Body Ready Method® Pro and Evidence Based Birth® Professional Member, I help parents prepare not only for birth but also for the transition into life with a newborn. My goal is to provide families with the tools they need to make informed decisions, trust their instincts, and embrace the power within themselves as they welcome their little one into the world.

I enjoy working with individuals, families, teen parents, diverse populations, and community organization to help develop ways to tap into the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being. I'm Asia Jackson—doula, licensed social worker, and mother. My journey into this work began with my own experience as a single Black mom navigating pregnancy and early motherhood. I know firsthand how isolating and overwhelming this season can be, especially without the right support. ​ Root + Bloom was born from that experience. I combine my background in trauma-informed care with deep, culturally aware support to help families feel seen, heard, and empowered. My goal is simple: to walk beside you with compassion, advocacy, and love.
