My name is Keirstan Johnson, and I am a trained birth doula currently completing my certification through DONA International. I am an artist and writer living near Toronto, Canada. I am passionate about being outdoors as much as possible and watching things grow. I am simultaneously certifying as a doula specifically for labour/delivery but also for end of life. I believe in the goodness of the human body and am specifically in awe of the birthing body’s magic. The rhythms and cycles we live in at a physical and emotional level have always fascinated me. It is a privilege to support individuals and families undergoing beautiful, massive, world-shifting transitions.

I grew up enchanted by midwives—their cheerful energy and seemingly magical presence as they welcomed my siblings into the world. That early fascination inspired my path into women's health. With a background in physical therapy, I have a deep passion for pelvic health and reproductive wellness. As a doula, I strive to provide evidence-based education, compassionate and holistic care, and strong advocacy so that families feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their birth journey. I hope to further specialize in lactation, exercise therapy, and water birth, and I am committed to continual growth and lifelong learning in my doula practice. I also love research and aspire to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of women's health in the years ahead. Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking with my preschooler, reading, writing about birth experiences in the East, and deepening my spiritual practice as a Muslim.

Hello! My name is Lauren, the hands on and heart led birth and postpartum doula in Durham Region. I'm also a big homebody who loves to read, craft my own tea blends, make natural skincare products and candles, and spend time in nature as much as possible. Becoming a doula felt like stepping into a path that was already laid out for me. I have always felt a fierce protection for other women, and connected easily and deeply with the women in my life. Combined with my interest in herbal healing and natural remedies, my previous work with and love for children and babies, my need to feed everyone I love home cooked, nourishing meals, and my interest in birth & the medical system, I realized that I already was a doula, I just needed to take the leap onto the path.   Early in 2025, I completed a 10 day doula training retreat in Costa Rica, which was a beautiful way to begin my new career. In the past couple of years I have been amazed by the women I work with, the births I have experienced by their sides, and the cocoon of postpartum. I love this work! I believe that birth and postpartum are some of the most transformational and impactful moments of a woman’s life, and they deserve to be positive experiences. My experiences as a mother of a child with special needs inspired me to become a passionate advocate for families navigating healthcare, education, and community support systems. As a community-based, high-risk doula, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-informed support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. I believe parents deserve access to accurate information, quality education, and trusted resources so they can make informed decisions that are right for their unique families. My role is not to make decisions for parents, but to ensure they feel confident, respected, and empowered as they make those decisions themselves. Beyond my doula work, I am deeply committed to advocacy. I have advocated for improved access to Early Intervention and preschool special education services, helping raise awareness of the barriers families face in obtaining timely evaluations, services, and support. I am passionate about ensuring children with special needs and their families have access to the services, resources, and opportunities they deserve. I currently serve as Vice President of the Brockport PTSA, where I work to strengthen partnerships between families, schools, and the community through volunteerism, parent engagement, and educational initiatives. I also serve as the Brockport Central School District TIES Program Coordinator, coordinating inclusive social and recreational opportunities that bring together students with and without disabilities. Through TIES, I aim to help foster meaningful friendships, leadership, and a sense of belonging for children and young adults of all abilities. Welcome! I’m Jessica Rogers. I am a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Certified Lactation Counselor with a deep passion for supporting families through one of the most powerful journeys of their lives: pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I was trained through DONA International and am actively working towards birth and postpartum certification. I was certified as a lactation counselor by the ALPP after completing the Center for Breastfeeding course and passing the exam. My own experience becoming a mother ignited this calling in me, and it grew even stronger during my second pregnancy. This season can be transformative, overwhelming and beautiful all at once, and you do not have to go through it alone. As your doula, I will be a dedicated and compassionate support system, someone who not only respects you but also walks beside you like a trusted friend throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I bring a calm presence, a good sense of humor, and a listening ear when you need it most. Hello, my name is Bohdana (she/her), and I became a Doula because being in a supportive role, sympathetically and empathetically meeting you where you are at in your journey, is something I am both proficient and passionate about. I will be by your side as you bring your baby into the world whether at a hospital, birthing center, or in the comfort of your own home. Once baby is born, I will continue to provide you with educational support as well as encouragement and emotional support as you become acquainted with your baby. I will support your infant feeding journey (breastfeeding or otherwise) and offer household organizational support. I have time to get to know YOU, not just your birth preferences. I have time to provide you with as much support as you need throughout your entire journey. I genuinely love supporting others and being an empath means this role comes naturally to me. After birth, both parents and baby need a lot of support. I can do overnight but also daytime 8-hour shifts to help care for baby so that you can get some rest, or on a consultation basis – an informative session on infant care, breastfeeding techniques and restorative care for the parent who gave birth. I feel blessed that as a doula, I am part of such a beautiful moment and environment called birth, where I am able to help enable mothers to help believe in themselves that they strong, beautiful and powerful. Making moms feel loved, supported, cared for, and special during their labours and births is so rewarding. Hi, I’m Sarah! A bit about me- I’m a birth, VBAC, and postpartum Doula working out of the Durham Region and the East GTA area. I’m also a proud mom and pride myself on providing non-judgemental care to the families that I’m lucky enough to support. I am a Doula, Usui Holy Fire® II Reiki Practitioner, and a Certifying Reflexologist with a background as a Personal Support Worker, and Business Administrative Graduate from Loyalist College. I have a true passion for supporting others in any way I can with empathy, love, and care. 6 years ago, a little boy came into my life in a way I did not expect. I had very little support, nobody took the time to be there and educate me properly despite my efforts to ask questions about labour and birth. I really felt alone in the experience… When the time came to give birth the OBGYN I had was in the hospital long enough to break my water and then was “off for the night”. I ended up with some complete stranger, who was rude, yelled at me, and impatient. He didn’t listen to me, and made me feel very uncomfortable! My son ended up coming out very quickly due to receiving an unnecessary episiotomy (I found this out at my 6 week post birth checkup). This resulted in my son not having mucus squeezed out of his lungs and having issues breathing on his own, he had low APGAR scores and was rushed to the NICU with very little communication from the nurses or the doctor while they stitched me up. The pain I had been feeling escalated as I had no baby, no support and a doctor who had no regards for me as a human… He would get frustrated with me every time I flinched involuntarily and tell me to relax while he stitched me up- he did not believe I could feel it. My epidural had failed with my son. I felt everything. The next couple of days in the hospital were a blur.. I felt a little helpless as I dealt with being sore… nobody had the time to show me how to breastfeed (which failed in epic proportions)… nothing was going right. I had all these plans while pregnant… and none of them were working out, nothing I hoped for was happening. This was the start of postpartum depression With my youngest, I knew better and had learned so much along the way from my personal experience. I was wiser, I knew what to ask and how to advocate. I have an incredible drive to be there for others, this is such a crucial time in your life. Nobody should have to feel alone. This is why I have also become an Evidence Based Birth Professional Member. All I needed was support. This is my why. I want to support YOU, no matter the way you need. I want to be there, educate, and help you through it all 🧡 Labour, Birth, and Postpartum.
