My name is Carisa Niemyer and I work as a doula and doula trainer in Colorado SpringsI found my way into doula work through the birth of my first child. My story didn't go exactly how I wanted and my baby had her own story of how she wanted to be born, as these babes often do. But after my delivery I felt so empowered and supported and loved my story. Much of the reason this was true was because of the support of a doula. I am a certifying birth and postpartum doula and a mother of three. I felt called to this work after the birth of my first daughter while living abroad with my husband in South America. Before we became pregnant again, I was researching what we had missed and awoke a passion for childbirth and maternal care that has only deepened over the years. After our three kids were born, I became a Childbirth Educator in 2017 and a Birth Doula in 2018. I also delivered two babies as a gestational surrogate in 2019 and 2021.
