Moniqueca is truly a master of her work. She was our Doula back in 2023 for Baby Rumi is soon gonna be three. Her classes prepared me to know what to expect as well as advocate for myself in the hospital. I remember it so vividly being around 5 cm dilated, doctors rushing in telling me that my daughters heart rate was too high and they might have to do a c-section. I called my Doula Moniqueca and she told me some turn the music on and to twerk my baby out. 3 mins later I felt the catheter pushing out of me and my baby's head coming through the birth canal lol. I told her dad to get the nurses because this baby was coming NOW!!! After 10 mins of pushing my beautiful babygirl was born and she is so smart and kind. Annette Yen served as a doula for both of my pregnancies. She had several conversations with me leading up to labor and delivery to understand my medical history, the nature of my pregnancies, and any fears or concerns I had along the way. Annette was able to provide me with encouragement as well as practical support through resources and studies on questions I had. My youngest daughter flipped between breech and cephalic positions several times to where she was breech the week leading up to her due date. Annette provided me with much needed encouragement during this stressful time. She also did exercises with me, provided me with guidance and resources, and lent me tools to help with getting baby to turn. I am happy to say that my baby had flipped just in time for delivery!! Once I called Annette to tell her I was heading in to the hospital, she dropped everything and was promptly in the labor and delivery room with me. During labor, she guided my husband and mom in ways to assist me in pain management and she empowered me to listen to my instincts. Annette also made sure my wishes for delayed cord cutting and immediate skin-to-skin time were carried out which allowed me and my family to fully embrace the moment of our daughter’s birth. Annette is a wonderful, caring person with an excellent bedside manner and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a doula.

I gave birth to my beautiful now little toddler girl back in December of 2021. I had not been pregnant for 13 years and I knew for this pregnancy I wanted to hire a doula for pre and post-natal support. With this birth I was determined to have a natural, unmedicated birth. Jaime McNamara was my doula for son in 2023 and she was absolutely amazing helped me through my labor with lots of swaying and counter pressure to work through the contractions even with things went differently then we all planned she stayed and made sure my husband was okay and that me and baby were okay as well. Then after baby came she continued to help myself and baby by preforming Craniosacral therapy and baby massage as well. Becca was everything i didnt know i needed. She was my strength, my support system, coach, friend and advocate. Becca helped me find strength in myself that i didnt realize i had. Everytime i felt like giving up Becca reminded my how far i had came and that i could keep going. Becca was my support system and was there within an hour of being checked in and stayed with me and baby until after delivery. She was my coach and stayed by my side through every contraction or obstacle that we faced. She was my friend and we shared many heart to hearts in the long overnight hours of labor. She kept me up to date on everything that was going on with my care in terms i could understand and what my options were when things got tough. Becca was my advocate when i couldnt find the words or wasnt sure what the best next step should be. I couldn't have went through roughly 40 hours of labor without her by my side. She kept the atmosphere calm and peaceful with lights and music. She made sure i was aware of everything that was happening and that i had alternative options to an epidural. She kept me moving and walking the halls trying to get baby to descend. My experience was amazing thanks to Becca and she will be the first thing i add to my list for my future deliveries.

Mayra Elisa was my Doula about 2 years ago to assist me with the delivery of my first baby. She was amazing! I have been a Labor & Delivery Nurse for 8 years and while I have a wealth of knowledge and debated getting a doula in the first place, I'm SO glad I did. I was able to have someone on my side that validated and supported me. She helped me labor prior to getting an epidural so that my husband could take a nap. This 2-3 hour nap recharged my husband so he could be present for the birth and him being well rested contributed to him gently reminding the the team my accurate pushing time as they thought I had been pushing longer than I had been, preventing me from getting a C-section. Also at the very end prior to giving birth it was likely that I was going to need a C-section as her head was slightly sideways so she wasn't coming down the pelvic outlet enough for a safe vacuum assisted delivery after almost 4 hours of pushing. Thankfully my baby was doing well and not in distress and I had no fever but I understood if we needed to have a c-section it made sense. Mayra had then suggested one last pushing position we hadn't tried yet (We had tried EVERYTHING) and directed my nurse and husband into that pushing position (closed-knee! its a great position!) 4 pushes later my baby's head turned and got past the pelvic bone and I was able to have a vaginal delivery!! Even with all of my clinical experience having a doula by my side helped me so much. As a disclaimer- You are not guaranteed a vaginal birth just because you have a doula, a C-section may be the safest way for you to give birth. However, an experienced doula will definitely improve your chances of a vaginal delivery and regardless of how you choose or how your labor/baby chooses your delivery for you, Mayra is amazing. She respects your wishes and validates you and helps you come up with questions for your midwife and doctor and helps inform your partner and yourself on what to expect next and helps answer your questions. She has experience guiding people through C-sections, Complicated labors, hospital and home births. She offers you her thoughts on the different options for giving birth, but never imposes one agenda and helps you based on what you are looking for. She also can answer your questions on breastfeeding, pumping and formula feeding and doesn't make you feel like you need to pick one way or another and just supports you all the way with your choices. Also, her being bilingual (Spanish speaking) and bicultural was such a plus. Having her in the labor room with me was important to me, while I was born and raised in the U.S. my first language is Spanish and my family is from Peru, so having her by my side felt like having a sister or aunt with me and she was familiar with a lot of the cultural remedies and ideas.

Jennifer was amazing and an essential part of my labor. I was becoming a new mom, and very nervous about what labor would bring. I was committed to an unmedicated labor and my goal was a water birth. With Jennifer by my side, I felt safe and secure despite the arduous task I was facing. My husband was there beside me, but he was as fearful as I was, if not more. Thankfully Jennifer knew how to keep me calm, but help me progress along. When my laboring slowed in the warm water, she had me exit the tub and got my husband involved with supporting my weight to sway back and forth in a squatting position and lower the baby into the birth canal. Jennifer knows how to manage various challenging circumstances that arise. My midwife was great, but I learned with a few labors that they are not very participatory throughout the labor. For this reason, having a doula in the process is extremely important, and Jennifer is well equipped to properly support a woman on her birthing journey.

My family and I are so blessed to have had Simone support us during our VBAC. Simone was highly spoken of by our Doula, as she prepared to call Simone in for backup after 12 hours of strenuous labor. Marisol was the most knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful doula one could ask for. She was there for me most my pregnancy and in labor. Whenever I had questions, especially being a first pregnancy she always had answers and gave me peice of mind. I had horrible back pain and she suggested several stretches and exercises that I could do on my own and some that my husband could help with and they were really helpful in relieving pregnancy pains. My labor started right when she finished with another labor and she was there for me full of energy. She would ask the nurse to bring me items like a peanut ball, a mirror, or dimming the lights to help me get though labor pains and to feel as comfortable as possible. She always had a very calm voice and touch. I would highly recommend using Marisol as your doula. There is so much information and helpful tips she as a doula will provide for pregnancy, labor, post partum and breastfeeding that is not provided by your OBGYN

I cannot recommend Rebekkah enough. She was my doula for my 2019 baby, and I knew that I had to rehire her for my second birth. My goal with my second was to have an unmedicated birth and knowing that is something Rebekkah specializes in helped give me the confidence that I could do it. When my labor started, she was readily available to answer any questions and confirm when it was time to head to the hospital. She had techniques to help ease the pain such as the use of her TENS unit (which helped tremendously) and using counter pressure. She coached me and encouraged me the entire time, even when I was completely ready to give up, which I completely believe helped me achieve my unmedicated birth goal. After going through PPA/PPD with my first, I knew that I wanted to have my placenta encapsulated, which Rebekkah was able to do and made the entire process seamless. She worked with the hospital to make sure that my placenta was stored and ready to take home, and once she finished encapsulating it, she delivered it to my home (along with a keepsake from the cord). I truly believe that it made a huge difference in my recovery. Rebekkah was an asset to my family during my pregnancy, delivery, and post partum. She is a wealth of knowledge and truly helped me reach my goals and deliver a healthy and happy baby exactly how I wanted to.
