I am Rebecca a mother of 6. I am a Childbirth teacher for the last 11 years and a Doula for 10. I have always taken a natural approach to things. As I have studied and learned more, I have made changes to my life and the way I do things. I became a Bradley teacher and started Doula Training and continued to expand my education shortly after. It fit nicely with my husband's Bowen Therapy, so we decided to work together helping others with all the things we struggled with and needed help with as parents. Every service I offer is something I needed in my life as a parent and had to piece together from multiple people and professionals. i want to make the community better and hopefully that will ripple outward and change other's lives too. I struggled to be able to afford my Bradley classes and Doula so I decided to make all my services as cost effective as I could for my clients.

Amelia is a DONA trained birth doula (2019) from Minnesota. She holds a BA in Global Studies with emphasis on South American studies and Global Public Health. Birthwork found her when she was working on a research project about women giving birth in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. She was a volunteer doula for the first part of her doula career while simultaneously working as a health educator in non-profit clinics in both Minneapolis and Austin. Amelia eventually adhered to her calling and shifted to working in birthwork full time. For Amelia, birth is a sacred and ceremonial part of life. She is passionate about advocating for families and following their lead as they go through this transformational experience. Howdy! I’m so glad you’re here! Birth and postpartum are some of the most vulnerable times in someone’s life and if we work together I’m likely going to see you naked to some degree, so it’s only fair you know about me too! I grew up in the Dallas area and have been in Austin since 2014. I came for college and south Austin has always been my home. I was a nanny for a family while I was working on my undergraduate degree in social work with minors in psychology and women & gender studies - they introduced me to what a doula was. I am one of the lucky people on this planet who has truly found their calling and can honestly say they love their job. I’m also a Licensed Social Worker in both Texas and Colorado and focused my studies in graduate school on perinatal mental health and mood disorders and the mind-body connection of somatic therapy. I believe the birth of a child, and rebirth of humans in the transition to becoming a parent, are sacred and beautiful experiences. Knowing birth is strenuous on the physical body as well as requiring an immense amount of mental strength, I bring in knowledge from regulating your central nervous system while still focusing on mind-body-soul-connection. Having a strong support to provide knowledge, hold space, and honor the process is key, and what I love most about birthwork. I am also passionate about the postpartum period to help families navigate the transitions of a new parental identity, preparing parent’s relationship for changes, caring for themselves, and setting up realistic expectations for what the future will bring.
