Hi- Im Kate! I have been babysitting since I was 12 (I started with new born twins!!) and have sat for different families since. I have helped with twins, triplets and have watched over children from the age of a few days to teens. I was a career nanny for over 10 years working for many profession families (including NFL players!) before having my own children (they are 4 and 2 now!). I love working with new families and am look forward to working nights, weekends, overnights and for travel. While I am working on my newborn care specialist training, I am very interested in working with families with newborns for overnights as a night nurse or extra help on weekends or evenings.

Kate worked with our family for 6 years. She started when our oldest was 12 weeks old. We also had another child that she helped care for right after he was born. We are truly blessed to have Kate as a part of our family for so many years! I trusted her completely with every aspect of childcare and our boys still talk about her often. Her calm, patient demeanor brought a sense of peace to a sometimes hectic household! Kate was always reliable and flexible when we needed. I would highly recommend Kate to any family looking for someone to care for their little ones!

Janelle Montgomery

Hi, I’m Janelle! With my extensive experience as a mother of two, rigorous birth and postpartum DONA training, Master’s in Health Administration, and training as a health and wellness coach, I offer a unique set of experiences that blend compassionate care, evidence-based knowledge, and whole-person wellness to support women through every stage of their motherhood journey. My own vastly different birth journeys - one C-section and one VBAC - opened my eyes to how different each experience can be, yet how deeply every mother deserves to feel supported, informed, and empowered. My own doula supported and empowered me through those experiences and inspired me to create FlourisHER Way Birth and Wellness, a space where women can receive both practical and emotional support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. While I’m newer to attending births professionally, I bring a wealth of related experience, with years in healthcare leadership and wellness coaching, to countless hours walking alongside moms as they navigate nourishment, rest, identity shifts, and self-care. My approach is gentle and empowering, and I bring that same calm, grounded, and nurturing presence into my doula work. I believe every mother and birthing person deserves to feel confident, cared for, and fully supported - physically, emotionally, and mentally - as they bring new life into the world. Through my work and my heart as a mom, I’ve learned that thriving in motherhood takes more than just physical recovery — it’s about nourishment, rest, emotional balance, and rediscovering yourself in this new chapter. My approach is gentle, personalized, and rooted in helping mothers flourish — body, mind, and spirit — as they welcome new life and step into their strongest selves. My approach is gentle, reassuring, and deeply personal. Together, we’ll honor your body, your intuition, and your story as you flourish in your own unique way! I am trained through DONA International for birth and postpartum doula services. As I am working toward my certifications I am offering heavy discounts to clients that sign up for services in 2025/2026 through December 31, 2025.

I generally don't respond to requests through here, I can easily be found through various locations. My journey into midwifery started with the birth of my first child Oliana who was born by cesarean after planning a homebirth. That birth left me excited to be a mother but also confused about healing and breastfeeding. I had a lot of support in the postpartum including from our local ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) chapter. Community was important in healing and building me up as a mother during my early parenting years and community is what drives me today. In 2009 I attended Birthing From Within training in Austin learning the art of mentoring new parents through the childbearing year. My youngest child Silas was born at home in 2011, I stepped back from birth work during my pregnancy and the years after he was born. I found I needed a lot of quiet contemplation during this time and he needed a lot of time with me. In 2014 I attended toLabor doula and activist training and started a midwifery apprenticeship with CHOICE. In 2018 I became a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) specialized in out of hospital birth. I live in Columbus with my two children. We have a thriving backyard garden and are into composting and sustainable growing practices. I’m an avid reader and researcher. I try to keep up with current research around the pregnancy year and take multiple trainings a year to broaden my knowledge base. I support clients seeking homebirth and monitrice care in the Columbus, Ohio metro area and offer online coaching sessions to people who live outside of my radius of roughly an hour. I have a special interest in families planning a VBAC and HBAC (Vaginal/Home Birth After Cesarean). I am an Army veteran serving 4 years on active duty in Germany and 3 years in the reserves in Columbus. I have an undergraduate degree from Ohio State in Political Science and Women’s Studies (now Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies).

I am a Registered Nurse with 13 years experience in the hospital. Most recently I have doing travel contracts but am taking a break until the fall. I have 4 children of my own ages 6, 10, 15, and 17. I know how stressful it can be with a newborn getting no rest and being expected to maintain a household and also work. I would love to be able to help your family find that balance by providing overnight childcare and light housework.
